I run Windows 7 on a Dell laptop and I want to uninstall AVG 2011 Free Edition. For some reason I cannot complete the process. I'm using the Windows uninstall program from the control panel because its the only place the program actually shows up in the menu to be uninstalled. After the program runs for a few mins I get an error code 0xC0070643 or a general internal error. It says AVG Watchdog could not be stopped. I've tried to go into the Task Manager and shut down all processes having to do with AVG but they dont stop!
I have Revo Unistaller on my pc but it doesn't even recognize the program. In other words, AVG doesn't even show up in the list of programs that can be uninstalled. I simply want to get rid of this and install Microsoft Security Essentials.
Me and my friend go this virus two days apart, and she'd been able to fix it quick within the day, I'm still having problems.I see fixes for it using MBAM, which I've tried. It's installed, but no mater what, I can't run it even if I name it mbam.com, or anything of the sort.Also, my computer won't go into safe mode. I can run it normally, but when I press F8, I can pick to boot off my SARA, or my CD Drive, but piking either of those just takes me to system restore, where I wipe my hard drive which I"ll only do if it's a last resort.
Last night while bring windows 7 home premium down it indicate 16 upgrades. The system appears to load the upgrades and the computer shut down. This morning I turned on the computer and I get to the screen "Preparing to configure Windows. Do not turn off your computer." It has been stuck here for over an hour. How long do I let it go before I turn it off?
I thought I would pass on my recent adventure of removing Win 7 Security 2011.After wasting about 4 hours of my time reading and trying to remove what I thought was a serious infection, I ended up using old relieable, Malwarebytes.1) Downloaded Malwarebytes to a flash drive using another computer.2) Copied Malewarebytes (via flash drive) to the infected computer.3) Rebooted infected computer in "Safe Mode With Networking".4) Installed Malwaebytes.5) Updated Malwarebytes.6) Rebooted computer in "Safe Mode With Networking".7) Ran Malwarebytes, deleted infection and rebooted.All done.
MS keeps updating Windows 7 to ensure that we can no longer delete or reset the index.dat files. The result is that no matter what fix is posted here, MS does something to ensure the fix no longer works. Here's the laundry list of solutions that no longer work. Malwarebytes (various problems -- says file is open in Malwarebytes, is hidden and cannot be found even though Windows options have been changed to show hidden files) CCleaner (ineffective) index.dat Suite (currently completely disabled for Windows 7) index.dat suite (to find all files) combined with Eraser (to erase the files) (comes back wtih error message) Red Button (can't remember specifics here -- just that it doesn't work) Mil Sheild (can't remember specifics on this one either -- just that it doesn't work) and finally the instructions in the most recent thread on Index.dat which involve booting in safe command and going to the root file to delete index.dat. (I receive an error message that the file does not exist even though I can find 15 separate index.dat files with index.dat suite.
I tried installing both matlab 2009 and 2011a on windows 7, however after finishing installation,a message came saying software not installed correctly
New computer came with Windows Live Essentials 2011, plus I have a large Windows Update for it waiting in the wings. I would like to uninstall all the Windows Live programs and possibly keep Windows Live Mail in the event I might one day use it...or not. I also have MS Outlook on my computer.Is there any reason why I need to keep the Windows Essentials 2011 family?

Good Morning seven Forums,I tried to find a forum dedicated to just Windows Live Mail Essentials win 7 Pro, did not find one if it does exist.My Question: Where in Options for Windows Live Mail Essentials 2011 can I remove the requirement that large emails messages will be divided into 256KB sizes. I checked each option tab and contents in options, Mail and other sections, could not find that options endabled. I want to disable it if possible. I get many emails with large powerpoints that I would like to share with otheres and family. In the cases where messages have been sent divided up never could be re-assembled at the recipient.
i am having problems with windows movie maker saying it cannot save movie because i do not have enough memory asking me to save at a lower resolution.i have increased my cache (page) memory and still the same i even lowered my bitrate still the same. i have 90gb of hard drive space and 8 gb ddr3 memory my gfx has 2 gb of ddr5.
what do i do i know i dont have any viruses because its a brand new formatted pc.
When I installed Windows Live Essentials 2011 on my new Compaq Presario CQ5621F with Windows 7, it seemed to load fine. I tried to access the internet and got no connection. When I rebooted my computer it suggested that I restore to an earlier time. Upon doing so it works fine again.

I would like to temporarily see my Contacts list sorted by last name, since I am comparing it with a printed directory that is sorted that way. However, the Contacts list is currently sorted by first name. I haven't found an option to change the sort order. Is there one? This would only be temporary, since I normally like to use the Contacts sorted by first name.

I'm having trouble with Windows Live Mail 2011. It crashes everytime I use it. Sometimes it crashes immediately on startup, other times it crashes a couple minutes after startup. Here's my error message:

yesterday I upgraded my HDD to a SSD and clean installed windows 7 home premium onto the SSD. I then updated windows and installed windows live mail 2011, but when I try to run the program it comes up with "Windows Live Mail could not be started.It may not be installed correctly. Make sure that your disk is not full or that you are not out of memory.0x80041161)".I have adequate space and 16GB of RAM, I have tried running wlarp.exe, unistalling and reinstalling and deleting everything windows live mail related (including the registry data) before reinstalling. I have also tried installing and copy and pasting the program files from my old pc with no success.
All my contacts were missing after the last update of Windows Mail. My cousin had the same issue.I could find my contacts list on my C: drive but they weren't linked together anymore.By logging into Windows live (@live.com email) the problem was corrected.But what about those people who don't use or don't remember their login for their @live.com account? How do you link the 'Contact' file from your hard drive to your Windows Live??
I'm using Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate edition, and every app I installed is working. But when I go to the Windows Live website, I can't download windows live essentials! When I click on "Download now" browser just keeps loading and loading but nothing happens. Tried with Chrome and IE, and I got same result. Then, I got an idea - I have copied wlsetup-web.exe file from my laptop to the USB flash memory, and then tried installing. File runs, but I can't get farther than "Prepairing the installation" because I got some error which say that I'm not connected to the Internet, although I am.
so what the heck, is cyberlink in cahoots with the media industry? should I not be able to run a 2011 bluray disk via powerdvd7.3 and have to chuck 100 bucks to get this working again? I have been able to run bluray in this version before (Terminal Salvation). I'm sorry I don't keep up with updates and just expect things to work, crazy consumer I am. problem installing roxio creator 2011 on Win 7 Ult x64. Will not recognize that I have Any Windows Platforms, so fails install.I tried to install in Safe Mode. It reached the point where it wants to install NET 3.5.1 and gives error: Windows programs and features needs to be turned on or off. I figure for NET 3.5.1. I tried every configuration and on go.
I needed reinstall MovieMaker 2011 so I uninstalled by using Add/Remove in the Control Panel. When I attempted to reinstall it the wizard indicated that the Movie Maker is still installed and the process stalled there.WL MovieMaker(and PhotoGallery) is no longer listed in the Add/Remove Programs.I tried the third party uninstaller utility but the situation was the same as above.I deleted all Movie-Maker(& Photo-Gallery) related files.I deleted all registry keys and values which are hit by key words of "MovieMaker" and "Photo-Gallery but the installer, wlsetup-web.exe still did not let MovieMaker(& PhotoGallery) install. Another word, the installer still says the Movie-Maker is installed!
[MS Windows 7 Home; Windows Live Mail 2011; Firefox]I created quite a few folders in my Windows Live Mail 2011, at the left side column, and have tried many different ways to alphabetize them without success.Additionally, when I open a new folder it doesn't get automatically alphabetized either.
Why can't Windows Live Mail 2011 use the icon that is pinned to the taskbar when it goes into execution like every other Windows 7 program I run? Instead it creates a duplicate icon on the right end of the taskbar. One would think that if anyone followed Windows 7 conventions it would be Microsoft.
Is it possible for the program NOT to open the next message when deleting the current, opened message? If I delete the current opened message, I want the message window to close and go back to the Inbox. Currently, upon delete, the window opens to the next message from the Inbox.
