May 31, 2011[MS Windows 7 Home; Windows Live Mail 2011; Firefox]I created quite a few folders in my Windows Live Mail 2011, at the left side column, and have tried many different ways to alphabetize them without success.Additionally, when I open a new folder it doesn't get automatically alphabetized either.

May 24, 2011(intel dual core CPU, 1.5GB RAM, 320GB HDD, Intel GMA950.) windows lime mail 2011 (latest build) uses way too much cpu 60% or so and RAM usage goes up to 300MB and more. renders pc unusable after some time it just starts not responding. have to end task.
i like to go change open windows using alt+tab, but its seems it can only open active IE9 tab is there a way using alt + tab see all the tabs open in IE9

Jun 10, 2012yesterday I upgraded my HDD to a SSD and clean installed windows 7 home premium onto the SSD. I then updated windows and installed windows live mail 2011, but when I try to run the program it comes up with "Windows Live Mail could not be started.It may not be installed correctly. Make sure that your disk is not full or that you are not out of memory.0x80041161)".I have adequate space and 16GB of RAM, I have tried running wlarp.exe, unistalling and reinstalling and deleting everything windows live mail related (including the registry data) before reinstalling. I have also tried installing and copy and pasting the program files from my old pc with no success.

Apr 22, 2011MS and their mail systems are giving me grief. I have a Vista 32 PC using "Windows Mail" and want to transfer email folders (lots) and messages to Windows 7 using Windows Live Mail 2011.Windows Mail was a replacement for Outlook express on Vista.Windows Live Mail 2011 is a replacement for Windows Mail on Windows 7.I tried a couple of things.
1) Basic Export and ImportI exported relavent files: Account info, Contacts and all the messages to a folder (in Windows Mail format) on old computer and used the old "Addias" transfer - copied folder to stick and RAN it over to the new computer.
- Imported (using the Windows Mail format) the Account info successfully,
- imported the Contact info successfully.
- Import Messages - appeared at first to be successful
Issue: Message folders appear to be renamed and some folder names have been truncated, not all folders appear to be there. (Looks like "long Name folders greater that 8 characters get truncated)
2) Tried the "Easy transfer mechanism (Vista and Win7 transfer utility) - but couldn't get the new computer to see the Vista even though I could see them on the network. I thought that this would transfer the folder names correctly.I'm about to try a time consuming effort of coping folder by folder (export/Import)What I am more concerned about is that the individaul messages may have the same issue Ie not all coming accross and subject names being lost. Looking for alternative or third party transfer solutions?

Jun 28, 2012After I updated to Windows Live Mail 2011, a strange problem occurred. When I send an e-mail, program simply deletes all the spaces I made between the lines by pressing "enter" and the recipient receives my e-mail as one single paragraph. If I make spaces between the lines by pressing "shift+enter" it doesn't do that and everything works normal. I want to give/make spaces between the lines simply by pressing enter as it should be.

Windows Live Mail 2011 Installed But Windows Update Not Complete
Oct 25, 2010I applied a Windows Update the other day without realizing that I was doing a major update from Windows Live Mail to WLM 2011. The installation progress window stopped at about 50% complete and just stayed there. After doing some Googling about the update (KB2434419) I read that behind the progress window is another window which asks the user whether all Windows Live apps are to be installed and updated or just the ones that have already been installed. I had been using only Windows Live Mail, so I chose to update only that application to WLM 2011. The installation appeared to run successfully, and I have been using WLM 2011 for two days. It works fine, although I've had to get familiar with numerous changes to its appearance and user interface.
The Windows Update icon is still at the right end of my taskbar, however, and when I click on it, the progress window is still showing "Installing update 1 of 1" about 50% complete as if it does not realize that the installation of WLM 2011 finished two days ago! The only option in that window is a "Stop installation" button. I am afraid to click that button in case it initiates a rollback of the WLM 2011 installation. Why does Windows Update think that the installation isn't complete? How do I terminate the session of Windows Update and not disturb the WLM 2011 installation that completed two days ago? Do I dare kill the Windows Update process that is running?

Jan 26, 2012Anyways I use YAHOO MAIL PLUS.. And I have all of my email stored under the YAHOO ACCOUNT TITLE .. But Ive noticed it doesnt BACK UP all of the emails... When importing its just a blank folders.....what's going on? I do NOT see a space that says STORAGE... So where does the folders Truly belong?
Also is there a limit of how much mail WLM can hold? I thunderbird ( which I hate ) only has folder sizes up to 2 gigs..

Jun 3, 2011On my employers computer last night his storage folders began to randomly delete themselves from his windows live mail every time he shut to program down. Over the course of shutting down and reopening the program 4-5 times a total of nearly 60GB's of email was deleted from his Windows Live mail. I used a data recover program to scan the hard drive and recover the deleted items. The inbox and sent folder remains untouched and and new folders created at the same root level as sent and inbox appear to be unaffected as well. Some of the recovered email is corrupted and is just gibberish and random text strings and symbols. Have no idea what it causing this and not sure if a reinstall of the Live mail client would correct this issue. The system is a Windows 7 32-bit, IE 9.0, all adobe items up to date, java up to date, mcafee antivirus, and windows fully up to date prior to this starting last night.

Aug 25, 2011I've done well setting up a new computer with Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail and transferring everything from my Windows XP computer with Windows Live Mail.I run a small business and desperately want to keep everything in my Storage Folder with many client sub-folders on my XP computer.I have read and read and read for 2 days how to export/import these messages but nothing is workingI can easily find the file with all my folders in it on the XP but there is nothing within the folders.The messages do exist as they are still there on the Windows Live Mail screen. When I export and try to import on Windows 7 it says the file is empty which of course it is.

Nov 15, 2012A friend of mine has a problem with his Windows Live Mail client. He's running Win 7 HP 64 bit with the Windows Live Mail client and a Hotmail ID. His problem is that he sometimes sees emails mysteriously multiplying emails in his folders - this includes his deleted mail folder!
We have tried asking questions in the official Microsoft Mail forums but have received no response. What I would like to do is to delete his Mail.MSMessageStore database in both the Windows Live Mail folder and the Backup folder. I believe doing this will cause Windows Live Mail to recreate the Mail.MSMessageStore database. However I would like to be sure, before I do this, that he will continue to have access to all his (offline) Storage Folders, as well as his normal mail folders, after doing this. Does anyone know whether deleting the MSMessageStore database will cause any data loss or is it a totally harmless step?
