View 3 RepliesI have imported my Outlook Express email messages Folders into new laptop and I have imported those Message Folders into Windows LiveMail. All good. But all my Message folders are sitting in Windows live Mail in a seperate folder called Imported Folder/Local Folder at the bottom. How do I move all the imported Folders so they are in my INBOX - instead of being a seperate folder at bottom of screen. I would like it to look as close as it can be to Outlook Express that I am used to.
View 9 Replies View RelatedHaving trouble with Windiows Live Mail 2011 Quick View "All Inbox" and "All Sent" not displaying any messages. I have 4 email accounts and I used to be able to see each account email in the one All Inbox as well as the account Inbox, now I can not see any emails in All Inbox or All Sent, but there are emails in each of my account Inboxes.
I have tried turning off and on Quick Views, compacting messages, and the five time restart of Windows Live Mail
Every so often - not each time I open Windows Live Mail but daily or every other day there is no inbox. Also my (only) email account has disappeared. When I make the account again the inbox reappears (including all the mail that I had already deleted).I use Windows 7 64 bit.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSpent many years using Outlook Express and really liked that I could have multiple email accounts use the same inbox. Live Mail uses its "quick view" to appear to combine all your accounts into a single inbox but maintains a "real" folder structure for each account. Can I make Live Mail use a single set of folders (in, sent, deleted, etc.) or am I stuck with MS' design?

I checked each option tab and contents in options, Mail and other sections, could not find that options endabled. I want to disable it if possible. I get many emails with large powerpoints that I would like to share with otheres and family. In the cases where messages have been sent divided up never could be re-assembled at the recipient.

However, the Contacts list is currently sorted by first name. I haven't found an option to change the sort order. Is there one? This would only be temporary, since I normally like to use the Contacts sorted by first name.

yesterday I upgraded my HDD to a SSD and clean installed windows 7 home premium onto the SSD. I then updated windows and installed windows live mail 2011, but when I try to run the program it comes up with "Windows Live Mail could not be started. It may not be installed correctly. Make sure that your disk is not full or that you are not out of memory.0x80041161)".I have adequate space and 16GB of RAM, I have tried running wlarp.exe, unistalling and reinstalling and deleting everything windows live mail related (including the registry data) before reinstalling. I have also tried installing and copy and pasting the program files from my old pc with no success.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhy can't Windows Live Mail 2011 use the icon that is pinned to the taskbar when it goes into execution like every other Windows 7 program I run? Instead it creates a duplicate icon on the right end of the taskbar. One would think that if anyone followed Windows 7 conventions it would be Microsoft.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHow do I remove imap.gmail.com from my Windows Live Mail 2011 account? I had configured my windows email with gmail, and I no longer want to do that. I can't seem to find a way to keep gmail from checking my mail through my Windows Live Mail account. I'm afraid if I delete my gmail account I would no longer have access to my Windows Live Mail account. I have gone to settings in gmail and disabled imap. When I did this, I no longer was able to send or receive mail in Windows Live Mail, so I had to go back and enable imap in gmail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMS and their mail systems are giving me grief. I have a Vista 32 PC using "Windows Mail" and want to transfer email folders (lots) and messages to Windows 7 using Windows Live Mail 2011.Windows Mail was a replacement for Outlook express on Vista.Windows Live Mail 2011 is a replacement for Windows Mail on Windows 7.I tried a couple of things.
1) Basic Export and ImportI exported relavent files: Account info, Contacts and all the messages to a folder (in Windows Mail format) on old computer and used the old "Addias" transfer - copied folder to stick and RAN it over to the new computer.
- Imported (using the Windows Mail format) the Account info successfully,
- imported the Contact info successfully.
- Import Messages - appeared at first to be successful
Issue: Message folders appear to be renamed and some folder names have been truncated, not all folders appear to be there. (Looks like "long Name folders greater that 8 characters get truncated)
2) Tried the "Easy transfer mechanism (Vista and Win7 transfer utility) - but couldn't get the new computer to see the Vista even though I could see them on the network. I thought that this would transfer the folder names correctly.I'm about to try a time consuming effort of coping folder by folder (export/Import)What I am more concerned about is that the individaul messages may have the same issue Ie not all coming accross and subject names being lost. Looking for alternative or third party transfer solutions?

After I updated to Windows Live Mail 2011, a strange problem occurred. When I send an e-mail, program simply deletes all the spaces I made between the lines by pressing "enter" and the recipient receives my e-mail as one single paragraph. If I make spaces between the lines by pressing "shift+enter" it doesn't do that and everything works normal. I want to give/make spaces between the lines simply by pressing enter as it should be.

I applied a Windows Update the other day without realizing that I was doing a major update from Windows Live Mail to WLM 2011. The installation progress window stopped at about 50% complete and just stayed there. After doing some Googling about the update (KB2434419) I read that behind the progress window is another window which asks the user whether all Windows Live apps are to be installed and updated or just the ones that have already been installed. I had been using only Windows Live Mail, so I chose to update only that application to WLM 2011. The installation appeared to run successfully, and I have been using WLM 2011 for two days. It works fine, although I've had to get familiar with numerous changes to its appearance and user interface.
The Windows Update icon is still at the right end of my taskbar, however, and when I click on it, the progress window is still showing "Installing update 1 of 1" about 50% complete as if it does not realize that the installation of WLM 2011 finished two days ago! The only option in that window is a "Stop installation" button. I am afraid to click that button in case it initiates a rollback of the WLM 2011 installation. Why does Windows Update think that the installation isn't complete? How do I terminate the session of Windows Update and not disturb the WLM 2011 installation that completed two days ago? Do I dare kill the Windows Update process that is running?
This is really infuriating. Where does the older mail go?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there any way of retrieving individual or groups of emails deleted in error, in Windows live mail?.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using Windows Live Mail for about a month. I am still trying to set it up so that I can have all of my messages at the top left, and not within each email account.
I have set up Quick Views which covers most, but not deletes. Noting the Storage Folders at the bottom, I "moved up" these folders (along with the Out Box) so that they are under the Quick Views, above all of the email accounts I have. However, whenever I restart the program, they are back at the bottom.
Additionally, whenever I delete an incoming message, or send out a message, it goes into the appropriate email account, rather than were I would prefer, into the storage folders for these items, where they would all be together when I am searching for a prior incoming or sent email.
1st Question: How can I keep the storage folders at the top on restart? 2nd Question: How can I have deletions and sent messages, automatically placed into the appropriate Storage Folders, rather than into the individual email accounts?
I just mess around with IE9 and Windows Live Mail. there's a "reset" button in IE9 that I could reset everything back to factory preset but how about Live Mail?
