I have a problem with view and track downloads in that a file has stopped downloading although it says its resuming.I cant delete it and as its there it is preventing me form opening pdf downloaded which I use many times a day.how I force the download to compelte or remove from the list?

I'm using an hp computer with Windows 7. I use IE 9 as my browser. When I open tools, or click on the gear wheel I get the option to "view downloads". I click on clear list to get rid of the ones I don't want, or I clear the whole file. The list does clear. But the next time I open the browser and go to view downloads, the same items are still there. How do I clear them so they don't reappear? Do I need to go into the registry editor?

We cleared the browser history and rebooted also same thing. Is there a way to delete what's already been downloaded and start over.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI ripped my personal CD collection to .WAV as I have the space and thought it was best quality. I used WMP.Everything ripped fine.for a while, the first song of each album kept 'losing' its track information. I would use the Find Album Info feature of WMP to fix this. Track info currently displays perfect in Windows Media Player Library or when browing using Windows Media Center.However, if I view the files in Windows Explorer, or use another program like Winamp to play the files (which i generally prefer), the first track of all my ripped CDs in WAV format has no track information, Unknown Album, title, etc... even tho' it displays fine in WMP Library.I cannot EDIT the track in Windows Explorer, and I can't find a track editor freeware that supports .WAV. Why? Do I need to re-rip everything in .MP3? This also ruins my ability to copy the files to my phone, as the first track is missing information on copy/conversion.

I have set my Downloads folder to be on a second drive. by right clicking Downloads folder then selecting properties/location/"new location which I changed to F" clicked yes to move all associated files. it has been working for a few days now all well and good. earlier I went to download a image and when I right clicked the image and selected save as, a window appears where your able to choose a destination. The destination I wanted was already there as usual which is "F/Downloads" what caught my attention was within that window it usually shows all the pictures that I have in my Downloads folder but only one of them was there. I clicked save and the image saved. I navigated to my Downloads folder on my F drive and the image was not there. All the rest of the images I previously downloaded was, even the only one that showed up in the "save to destination window" not sure of the proper name. I tried to download another picture and when I right clicked it and selected save as the "save to destination" window opened and showed the same single image as before and also the 1 previous download picture. Scratching my head I double checked the destination, destination correct F/Downloads. I click save, and navigate my way to F/Downloads and neither of the two pictures are there.On my F drive I only have 1 Downloads folder. So where are these pictures that are not showing up in the folder but yet showing up in the "save to destination" window? That is addressed as F/Downloads.

View 2 Replies View Relatedtwo days ago window updates automatically downloaded on my one year old Toshiba laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium. Now I cannot get passed the welcome screen. There is no way to run a repair disc because I cannot get pass the welcome screen after typing in my password. I can go into safe mode or safe mode command prompt. But then what? The task manager screen just freezes up. The only escape is to unplug the computer and remove the battery and start all over again. Then the same thing keeps happening? View 9 Replies View RelatedThe latest Windows Update that imposed itself onto my machine (A six-pack) is not installing but seems to be freezing, unfinished. At least, its not finishing number 1 of six in many hours. So it's either a ginormous update, which I doubt, or summats up. For three days I have been having to switch off power and reboot "Windows Normally" to access my stuff. What I would like to do is get rid of this six-pack that wants to update so where to find it and how to squash it out of existence?
View 2 Replies View RelatedLast night I chose to hibernate rather than to shut down. This morning when I woke it up outlook wouldn't start. I clicked the icon a bunch of times out of frustration then the screen went dark and the tower started beeping. If I remember correctly it was three long tones in succession repeating. I forced it to power down holding the power button, restarted it and went to the recovery/repair options. I started a system restore to which I had only one option to restore to a windows update from 12:01am this morning. The SR started but has been hung on "restoring files" now for over two hours.Not that it makes much difference but it's an HP h8-1260t with windows 7 pro.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the last 2 days I have been trying to do a full virus scan with Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) and it gets hung up every time on WindowsSystem32CodeIntegritydriver.stl It will do a quick scan just fine but that is it. When it gets hung up on this file I try to cancel the scan and end up having to use the task manager to close out the program and then I have to reboot my computer to have MSE working in the taskbar. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, removing programs that were recently installed, I ran malwarebytes and that came up clean, I tried restoring to an earlier time and that didn't work, I tried safe mode and it did not work. I do not have a wireless mouse or wireless keyboard. Some sites suggested that might be a problem. I installed and tried Super Antispyware and that did not work properly so I uninstalled it. I do not know what else to do. I sure would feel better if I knew my antivirus program would do a full and complete scan. It is always the same file that it gets stuck at. I even tried putting that particular file in the excluded files within the MSE program and that didn't work either. It just kept trying to scan it. I have Windows 7 Home Premium with 64 bit operating system. With having our Church records, our business files and then of course my personal files/pics it always makes me nervous when something isn't working properly.

Every time that I receive an attachment in an email the only way that I can see it is if the same is downloaded and when is download is saved in the documents or picture files.A lot of them is not worth it to even download less saved. I hooked up a new monitor,plugged in an Oxygen Keyboard(piano) for the first time and tried to plug the keyboard(typing keybaoard ) into a usb port,which for some reason didn't work and then Windows 7 started searching for drivers and couldn't find whatever driver it was looking for. now boot never finishes even if i boot with a backup drive or from a win pe dvd i have set bios back to defaults and still will not boot
this is what i have done so far. got a win 7 dell pc, a vostro 400 to be precise. installed all apps and settings that we need on our desktops. then i used sysprep to run the OOBE and generalize switch, then booted into windows PE to capture an image .wim file of the entire isntallation. this .wim file is then saved onto a 16gb usb memory stick becuase its quite large, then using imagex i apply the image to the same pc same hardware etc and it completes with no errors. then the next time i restart i should be at the OOBE with the language settings etc etc but its just stuck on this dam "setup is starting services" rubbish!!! anyone had this problem or done any win 7 imaging yet? floppy drive is disabled, no usb devices plugged in apart from a keyboard. so im lost now.

So for about a week now some guy has been calling my wife and when she answers he does not talk, just breathes into the phone. View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently installed a new HDD (Seagate ST9500424AS; p/n 9RW143-567) in my Sony VAIO VPCEH11FX and installed the OS using the Sony VAIO Recovery Media Kit (VPCE_10FX Series 989203008). During the installation, I selected the default or normal settings. A short while (1-2 weeks) after the installation was complete, I noticed that the track pad was not working after enabling it using Fn+F1. (The pointing device dialog box DOES appear when I press Fn+F1 and shows that it will toggle between enable & disable). I took the computer into Fry's (where I bought it) and they booted a different OS (I think it was Windows XP) using a CD. Using this OS, the track pad worked. So it was confirmed it wasn't a hardware issue. I proceeded to contact Sony. They had me do the following:
1) download the latest drivers & driver updates and install both. This didn't fix the problem.
2) uninstall 'Alps Pointing-device for VAIO' and run the .exe files for the driver & update. This didn't fix the problem.
3) boot the computer to recovery mode (press F10 when it starts); I noticed that the track pad was working in this mode.
4) Confirm that the other ALT keys functioned properly. (they do function properly)
The Sony rep asked me to confirm the type of HDD I installed (I forget what specifically he was interested in), but upon my reading him the part number, he confirmed the HDD was compatible.The Sony rep then suggested I either recover the system to a previous version/date and see if the track pad is working. (he seems to think some software I installed might have prevented the track pad from working) He also suggested I could reformat the HDD and reinstall the entire OS. I've balked at doing either, as I'm guessing there is an issue with the registry.
Added the shark007 Windows 7 codecs thingie & FLACs indeed play in WMP now but the individual track times don't show even if the track is playing. Is there way to "enable" that?
