View 9 RepliesI am running Windows 7 Pro 64bit and have not installed any new software apart from The Witcher game a few days ago. Now after 30 mins of switching the PC on the pc freezes but the music from winamp keeps playing and the mouse is able to move. Only option is to do a hard reset of the machine. Could this be a hard drive fault?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI ripped my personal CD collection to .WAV as I have the space and thought it was best quality. I used WMP.Everything ripped fine.for a while, the first song of each album kept 'losing' its track information. I would use the Find Album Info feature of WMP to fix this. Track info currently displays perfect in Windows Media Player Library or when browing using Windows Media Center. However, if I view the files in Windows Explorer, or use another program like Winamp to play the files (which i generally prefer), the first track of all my ripped CDs in WAV format has no track information, Unknown Album, title, etc... even tho' it displays fine in WMP Library.I cannot EDIT the track in Windows Explorer, and I can't find a track editor freeware that supports .WAV. Why? Do I need to re-rip everything in .MP3? This also ruins my ability to copy the files to my phone, as the first track is missing information on copy/conversion.
View 2 Replies View RelatedComputer games make my Pc crash. This happens about 10-15 minutes after I start any game. However, most games only crash when the window fits the whole screen and some games crash whenever it fits the whole screen AND whenever the game is resizableFor example, whenever I play Runescape in fullscreen, it crashes in about 10 minutes after I start the game. This doesn't happen whenever I have it in a resizable window. However the game, Minecraft, crashes in fullscreen AND in a resizable window.I already tried updating my drivers but according to my computer, my drivers are all updated to date. Here are my specs:Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.110408-1633)Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.System Model: Inspiron 580 BIOS: Default System BIOSProcessor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 650 @ 3.20GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHzMemory: 8192MB RAMAvailable OS Memory: 8120MB RAMPage File: 4620MB used, 11616MB availableWindows Dir: C:WindowsDirectX Version: DirectX 11DX Setup Parameters: Not foundUser DPI Setting: Using System DPISystem DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)DWM DPI Scaling: DisabledDxDiag Version: 6.01.7600.16385 32bit UnicodeSound Tab 1: No problems found.Input Tab: No problems found[CODE]

The computer crashes to the desktop while gaming. Memory passes MemTest86, several passes with Hardware/Software memory hole enabled. One other thing, at this time I am using Windows XP 32 and what started this upgrade to 4 GB is I'm getting ready to install Windows 7 Home 64.

Also, I updated the GPU driver with one I downloaded from Asus website.

I have a problem which is that when I play games the screen goes black and then it plays the audio that was playing at that moment quickly and repeatedly for 2 or 3 seconds and then the computer will restart. After the computer restarts it won't work so I have to manually turn off the computer and then turn it back on. This happens on the majority of games that I play.
View 11 Replies View RelatedFirst I'll explain the problem about 6 months ago I had a PSU blow out on me, so I replaced it and all was well for a time when the PC would shut down and then restart without even showing a BSOD, at first it was now and then but gradually got worse. At first I thought it might of been the CPU overheating, I also thought that when the PSU blew it caused damage to the MB. So over a period of time I have ended up replacing all the hardware. For a time it seemed okay but the problem soon returned. (just to note it only shuts down when playing or starting games, I can surf the net or play videos etc without a problem).
My next thought was that it was a software conflict so I have ended up rebuilding a second PC, with a new HDD just incase it was a virus etc, I've loaded Windows 7 (home) 32bit, installed the graphics card (GeForce 560 Ti) with latest Nvidia drivers and a Asus sound card. I then installed Minecraft just as a test game and sure enough it crashes.
Alright, basically whenever I play a game I have some type of problem. I usually play Starcraft 2 and it's fine, but occasionally I'll get a BSOD or my display driver will stop working. When I'm not attempting to stream my games to twitch.tv this is pretty rare, but it still happens occasionally. Whenever I run xsplit and dxtory combined with starcraft 2 and stream, I get crashes constantly. My GPU doesn't ever really go above 53c, so I don't think that's what's causing it, but I could be wrong. My display driver stopping happens with most games that are pretty intense on the computer, but, like I said, my temps don't usually get too high. I'd love to solve whatever is causing me these problems. My computer specs are as follows:Processor: AMD Phenom II x6 1055TRAM: Patriot Viper DDR2 2GB Ram (2 sticks, so 4 GB)GPU: XFX Radeon HD6850OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit (installed for a good while, over a year or so I think)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure what's wrong. GW2 was working fine for a couple of days, and then the updates came rolling in. My computer started freezing, crashing, and a couple of bsods every hour or so. Only happens when playing GW2 though.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy computer will crash at random times when playing WoW. When it happens, my computer will kind of hang there, and everything will freeze except I can use my mouse, but about 1 min later I'll BSOD. When I BSOD, my POST hangs at a black screen before the MSI screen, where it says A2 in the bottom right corner, which changes to A3 eventually, then it loads.
When it crashes via my keyboard crashing, I'll randomly be typing (pretend the last key I hit was 'n') it will spam the 'n' button and nothing else, kind of like the drivers crashed. The only thing I can do is log out of windows and as soon as I hit log out it crashes. And the most obvious one, when I come back from work and my computer is on I'll sometimes come back to a BSOD, or a black screen that says an error has occurred. I've attached the SF diagnostic results.
So I have been trying to play/rip this CD I just got, but I have been having no luck at all. It will start playing the song, and continue playing the whole song, but the rest of the computer crashes so I am forced to restart. I don't get why one program would crash the whole computer like that.
I've also tried to rip the CD, and it would rip about 4 tracks and then the computer would crash and it would stop. Anyone having a similar problem or know how to fix this one? It is an imported Japanese CD by the way, not sure if that matters or not.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows 7 and frequently get a screen freeze while playing Battlefield Vietnam II or Battlefield II only. This happens quite often and I see no patterns except for these 2 games. I have updated my video drivers. I have an NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 (Prerelease - WDDM 1.1)
I updated my system from XP to Win 7. I clean installed Windows 7 onto a new HDD and installed the necesarry things I needed onto the new HDD. I have since been getting a series of black screeen crashes at many and varied times and whilst doing many different things. Sometimes my computer crashes when playing Mopdern Warfare 2, but sometimes it is just when surfing the internet, or just whilst idle. It is very frustrating and I have tried many things to try and rectify the problem, including trying to uninstall Comodo Firewall which i though was the initial problem, and also Realtek Audio Dirvers, to no avail. There is relitivly little bloatware on my PC at the moment as I plan on upgrading my system onto a SSD in the new year, so I am doing without iTunes and such like until 2012. [code]

After installing a new GTX 660, my computer is now having problems with Windows Desktop Manager. Whenever I play a game like BF3 or Arma II, the desktop manager crashes. So far I have tried disabling WDM, repair install, using the hardware scanner, memtest, clean boot, and updating drivers. Does anyone know how to fix this?
