View 5 Repliesi got bsod when running mpc and/or winamp, it happened randomly about 1 to 2 hours after i'm running the programs.
my laptop specs are
acer aspire v3-471g i7
Windows 7 Home Premium x64
4 gb ram
nvidia gt 640m
I just installed winamp and i really hate it when i have to select Yes to "Do you want to allow this program to make changes to your computer" when running winamp.I've set the exe to run as administrator for all users. I even tried running it in compatibility mode for XP (because you dont have this issue in XP, wishful thinking).I even set the persmissions to full access for SYSTEM/Administrator/Users in the security tab.Im also an admin on this computer.I know im not the only one that is pissed of when windows constantly asks you to run an application if you already selected to run it as admin.

Now after 30 mins of switching the PC on the pc freezes but the music from winamp keeps playing and the mouse is able to move. Only option is to do a hard reset of the machine. Could this be a hard drive fault?

View 1 Replies View Relatedit seems when running on windows 7, winamp crashes randomly when loading a new track.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWinamp or Windows Media Player or any other audio software freezes at random events. How the problem occurs: I will be playing audio through winamp just fine from first playback. The problem occurs after I decide I would like to STOP the song that is playing and open another application. After I've finished with that application and return back to winamp to hit PLAY the song won't playback. The song will simply sit there looking like it is about to play but no response. Please NOTE that this also occurs in Windows Media Player and i-Tunes.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm just installed windows 7 on my 2009 imac through bootcamp. However there are some problems. Ive noticed when i try to play something on windows media player it will tell me that my computer is running low on memory and to close some windows. Also games run poorly if at all. I suspect its a driver issue but have gone through all the auto updates etc.

As I shutdown/restart my laptop, I notice it switches to a secondary desktop that has been running programs.A good example would be trying to open my Task Manager, I can Ctrl-Alt-Del and it will allow me to open Task Manager - however when I click on Task Manager, it opens on the Desktop running in the background. I can't even access the Desktop in the background, it only shows up as I'm shutting down - closing programs that I tried opening awhile ago.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am running into this issue of having complete access to one PC running windows 7 from another one that is also running windows 7. One of the PC's is a windows 7 pro 32 bit and the other is window 7 ultimate 64 bit. I have had them setup with public and dedicated folder sharing. But from time to time I find that a file I want to get off one or the other was not saved to a shared folder. I have been looking for a way to allow complete access from one PC to other one (going both directions). I use 2 PC all the times and it really depends on where I am in the house as to what one I am using as one is laptop and the other is a desktop. They are both on the same network. It is just one of the strange things that I have not been able to find a way to get complete file access without the use of software like Teamviewer or others like it.What I would like to do it just go to the network location in the windows explore to get the files I want from the other PC.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to setup win xp in a partition I've set up in my new win 7 computer. Creating the partition was a snap. I don't seem to be able to run setup though for XP. I have the original disc, but it won't allow me to click on the setup option. I assume it see's the Win 7 OS and grays it out. I tried copying the disc to the partition, so I could launch from there, but I get the same response. What am I missing, or what do I need to do differently to make this work. I'm not sure if I can make this a dual launch boot option since Win 7 is already in place. Is it necessary to reboot into XP, as opposed to run it (concurrently) in its own partition?
I attempted to boot the system from the disc, but got the blue screen of death for my efforts.
my widows 7 pro 64 bit seems to only be runningthe 32 bit programs for some reason, it did this a couple of monthsago, so i restored to an earlier time, this sorted it out, now i have triedto do the same and the only restore point is from yesterday 26.07.2012no dates exists before this, i am thinking part of window has been orruptedor something maybe a virus

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been running windows 7 for about a year and it has been running fine up until a few days ago when all programmes seem to jam up and my only option is to turn the power off to reset it, I can open excel and word but can't print, email or send anything to disc, I can't even open photoshop, I have bulldog for antivirus but it won't do a scan, I have tried to Restore to an earlier date about a week ago but it isn't able to complete the task, if I try to start in safe mode, it gets as far as a pnp file then jams up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy laptop won't shut down- I realized I'd be hibernating it since the updates and went to shut it down and it's just on the blue screen saying it's shutting down forever and I have to manually push the button. When I turn it back on it doesn't give me the option for a safe mode start-so I assume it shut down ok, but in addition my laptop is running SUPER DUPER slow.? I ran malwarebites and nothing, my McAfee has been acting up as well so not sure if there's a virus issue or if it's the update.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a PC running windows 7 ultimate edition. 4.0 GB RAM, AMD Athlon2 X2 processor at 2.9GHz.This PC was always lightning fast with everything, and now its slower than dirt with everything from opening files to opening pages on the web. I don't know whats happened to it. I update and use Malwarebytes on a daily basis with never an infection, and use AVG antivirus with no instances of virus.I'm hoping someone can get me on the right track here. I was having issues a year ago and you guys nailed the problem, so I'm back hoping for more of the same
View 7 Replies View RelatedI had a virus on my computer which I have since cleaned (and double checked with several scans). The remaining problem on the computer was an inability to turn on my windows firewall (though the McAfee firewall was running). I followed the steps at My link through step 14 (though I forgot to make the system restore point at step 13). Then my FSS log began to look different. Here is the copy of my most recent FSS log.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy PC is freezing in Windows 7 x64. Using the mouse or typing control/alt/delete does not work. I use it for Recording music. My software is Avid Pro Tools 8 and Propellerhead Reason 5. I thought one of those was the problem until it froze while I was online and also when I was using Microsoft Word. Almost at anytime it will freeze causing me to press the power button (Hard Reboot). I did a Memory Test, Virus Scan and SCF Scan. I saw on another website that it might be the NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 graphics card. I do not have any Minidumps because I do not get any BSOD errors.
