View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to ask this straightforward question: does Windows 7 Ultimate Edition support both 32 and 64 bits? I have a legal copy of it and installed it on my Vista Business PC, but it seems to be running at 32 bits only. Is it because of this Vista only supporting 32 bits? How do you tell the bits your OS is running at?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have had Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit RTM installed for a couple of months now, but there is one issue that I have not been able to solve for this whole time.
When I first went to install Windows 7, I had to remove a 2GB stick of RAM in order for the installer to even start without blue screen-ing on me.
So I took the RAM out and managed to get 7 installed (yay!). However, when I tried to reinsert the RAM, I got the same BSOD that I would when trying to install 7 with the other 2GB in. I gave up after a couple of tries, and it has taken me this long to try to solve the issue.
I am pretty sure that my specs are 7 Ultimate x64 compatible? Because if not, that is most probably the source of the error.
Otherwise, could anyone lend a hand? It really hurts having 2GB of RAM lying around in a drawer being useless.
I use the Dell Computer Gx270 and my graphic card intel 82865g. i installed this driver in windows 7 this driver work properly but this not support to windows dvd maker. when i click on windows dvd maker error is video card is not supported please help me how slove this problem.

Basically, I do a lot of video converting since I'm always sending movies/tv shows to devices like PS3, Playbook, Xbox and some other stuff. Most of the converters I've found support only single core CPU's and take an hour or so to convert, I was wondering if there are any conversion tools that support more than one core and would be much faster than standard converters?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently upgraded Windows 7 Ultimate from Vista Home premium. When I "upgraded" though I chose to completly reinstall my OS.Anyways I used to have transparency, but when I try to get that same effect it says "The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM). Contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a WDDM-compatible driver."and then when I try to troubleshoot it says "Video card driver doesn't support Aero effects" . I've tried the "Fix it" options, but that doesnt work. I just don't see how transperancy would work on vista but not with windows 7... do I seriously have to purchase a new video card?

It will only happen for a few seconds then go back to normal. I am not sure why this has started happening as the rig I have is custom built. At first I thought it was iTunes as it happens more often with it running but it occurs even with iTunes off.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSeems that HP is way behind the curve again. It took them almost 4 months to write Vista drivers for the Color LaserJet 2600N (and the stickers on the box were touting "Made for Vista or some rubbish while the drivers were not available).
So here we are on the Windows 7 launch date and what does HP have to say?
Print drivers for your product will be available for download from HP when Windows 7 is launched worldwide.
I have been researching up on the Asus Crosshair III before i purchase. I have been reading reviews about how you need to download Win7 drivers and the most recent bios from the Internet which is not a problem. However i came across one concern. I am building a computer from nothing, and the drivers that come with the Asus Crosshairs are not for win7. I also read that in order to update the drivers to win7 you need vista.
I just need confirmation that this is true. Is it possible to update my motherboard's drivers/bios just by purchasing the full version of Win7? Or do i have to purchase vista and update the drivers/bios and then buy the upgrade for win7? Just a little confused as to what needs to be done.
I went on the asus website and found the drivers. Just need clarification on how i install them.
