I had a serious laptop error on my Samsung, and I had to pull the data off my hard drive, then reinstall Windows 7 using a neighbor's installation disk (I lost mine in a move). Now, my laptop thinks it doesn't have a wireless card, so I won't be able to get online wirelessly.

I wanted a new hard drive so i installed it and a new copy of windows. The wireless worked fine before, and ethernet works fine now. It shows up in device manager as other devices, network controller with a yellow exclamation mark. I have gone to Dell to install the driver. It almost finishes then says you do not have a recognized wireless device.
My comp is a Dell Inspiron M5010, I installed windows 7 HP 64 bit same as what was on before. WHDPC, K5Y6D are the numbers I have found for the card. I have tried several different drivers and all have the same error.
how to get windows to recognize the card so the drivers I install will recognize it? There are many threads about this in various places, but none of the solutions work.
I have a xFI sound-card and every time I start my PC I have to reinstall the card's drivers. I have 2 pci slots on my board and an ATI pci express Radion. When I put the card in the other slot right next to the graphics card it works no problem what so ever accept it is blocking the graphics card fan and the GPU heat doubles so this is not acceptable.I have tried a audigy sound card in the slot and it works OK.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just recently got a new SSD and wanted to start fresh with a new Windows 7 install. Thus I dc'd everything and successfully installed windwos 7 professional. However, after I update my graphics card driver (Radeon HD 5xxx series). I get a screen without icons, start menu or anything except the background. Pressing CTR-ALT-DEL gives me a blackscreen, forcing me to reinstall windows again. I tried different version of Catalyst control center (10.4 and the latest one) and they both give the same error.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay so i have an older Wireless PCI Card from like 5 years ago, I didnt have an antenna for it so i didnt use it, I recently came across the antenna and put the card in my PC, The "Ethernet Controller" says it doesnt have the drivers, and windows wont find it on its own. So i have gone to the website and downloaded the driver and software, it all tells me there are several missing .dll files.
So i downloaded them virus scanned them etc. and still no progress on getting the card installed. I dont know where the CD for it is and i doubt the CD would even work for windows 7. Can anyone help me out with this prob? Its a Wireless-B PCI Adapter 2.4GHz Model No. BB720C808230
I was searching for some updates for my intel WiFi link 1000BGN on this site : Intel Driver Update Utility.i saw that there was a driver 14.3.1.1.so i updated it.I download it and executed it, there was a little sign of the wireless.Then the wireless card restarted itself. However, when i go to the driver details after the installation, the driver is still the old one.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer is unable access my router. The power went out for a second and clearly that did something. I have an HP p7-1174 desk top, running Windows 7 Home Premium x64. The processor is an AMD A8-3800.
There are now several devices in the manager with yellow exclamation points, all relegated to the LAN. I get a Code 31, unable to load drivers message. I ran the sfc scan and there were no integrity violations. I tried updating drivers without any luck. My router is working fine because my laptop and iPad both work online.
The problem seems to be that Windows can't load the drivers for my 802.11n wireless LAN card. I tried updating drivers but it said the driver was up to date. I tried changing manually but the only two listed were the same and when I clicked one, it said Windows was unable to load.
I just reinstalled and it seems my D drive that has all my data, and i use for my docs. Has lost ownership i guess. First noticed because FF wouldnt download to it, to my downloads folder. Next tried to extract something and it wouldnt work.
I can delete but have to hit continue, on the prompt that says it needs administrator access.
I figure the permissions got messed up somehow, this has never happen before though...
I had 640 gb but due to some fault of mine I lost 300gb space unused. What should I do? Can I reinstall windows 7 OS?

We have 2 old desktops and a new HP Pavilion notebook on our home wireless network. The new notebook was set up by a University tech person 12/10 and was functioning properly. All the computers are linked to our older hp Laser Jet 1300 PCL 6 printer. One day the notebook froze and when rebooted it had lost its connection to the printer. I have done everything I know and followed numerous "geek" instructions to reconnect. So far I have succeeded only in losing my own printer access on my old Dell Dimension 2400 desktop. Prior to that, however, both old desktops were printing, even as the new notebook did not. Connection to the Internet is fine and the signal strength from the new Belkin router is "Excellent".

I know nothing is wrong inside the computer since my splash top allows me to go onto the internet wirelessly- so I'm guessing this has something to do with me just installing windows 7 home premium again.
Without the internet I can't download drivers or get windows updates-
Looked in device manager and there are three exclamations next to these drivers:
standard VGA Graphics Adapter
Network Controller
Unknown device
Can't seem to fix the exclamations since I can't get internet access (only have wireless net) Is there anything I can download and burn to get these drivers working?
I've moved again recently and this time my laptop running 7 professional isn't connecting to the HP J6410 printer. The printer is connected to the wireless network and prints a test page from the printer set up and the info when i print the network config page is correct. The printer is set as default and I have re-installed the drivers and gone through the whole HP problem-solving thing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe laptop can see the wireless networks (there are two wireless networks since it's a 2.4GHz/5GHz dual band router) and even connect to any of the two networks.It also gets an IP address from the DHCP server and the Internet connection starts working for a very short period (5-10 seconds). Then the connection is lost and though it occasionally returns, the computer is unable to access Internet most of the time. Apparently, it doesn't even get to the gateway. If I ping to the router's IP address there's no response, except for during the first few seconds after establishing the connection:[CODE]This behavior is absolutely consistent and can be observed each time one connects to the Linksys router from this laptop. Nothing I have tr includes: rebooting the laptop, rebooting the router, disabling one of the two wireless networks on the router, trying out various encryption settings (open, wep, wpa2), changing channels, disabling/enabling b/g/n modes, disabling firewall on the laptop, disabling ESET antivirus, reinstalling the wireless adapter driver, ... I could go on. I've been struggling with this for three nights and I'm getting desperate.
There are three other laptops (one Mac, two Windows PCs) connecting to the router without any problems. Strangely enough, the laptop only has this problem with the new Linksys router. It can connect to Internet via our old Airport Express wifi router without any problems. It can also connect to Internet via the Linksys router with an ethernet cable.One thing I have discovered is that rebooting the laptop in a safe mode with network enabled FIXES THE PROBLEM! However, when I boot back to the normal mode (even when disabling all startup items and all services, except for those needed for networking), the problem is back.
Reinstalled windows from Home Premium 32-bit to Ultimate 64-bit.All was okay, except the fact that I could not connect to my home wifi. It asked me for a password, I typed it in, then it asked me for it again, but this time it inmediatly said that it was invalid. Other responses ive had are Network security mismatch, windows cannot connect to the network. I have tried many different things, such as installiing the 32-bit version of Ultimate, updating drivers, and i cant connect to the wirelles.
