Upgrade My G54 Airstation Netflix Movies Slowing The Computer
Jul 2, 2012I need to upgrade my old G54 Airstation router which has been an excellent router but time is taking its toll. I know nothing about routers so surfing simply confused me to no end. I need some suggestions to help get me on track. Not as concerned with price as I am with quality and performance. Currently have 2 computers, network printer and the wifes tv hard wired to the the 4 out ports. Running Verizon High Speed Internet Enhanced which avgs 1.3 Mbps /.35 Mbps. Really need a couple more ports. With 8 Grandkids and all their new gadgets, quality and fast wireless is a must. At times, there are 6 to 8 units tied to the internet all at one time. Currently having an issue with the wifes Netflix movies bringing the internet on the computers to a crawl but that just may be the Verizon internet which is the fastest (not fast enought for me) available in my area.

Dec 14, 2012I have bought and used Biostar hd 5670 card for a few week ago. I got many experience about this card because it always go blank while I try to play the videos like .mp4 .mkv and HD movies. It also on media decoding assesement and watching videos online. This problems blow up after close the player or done watching. I tried a lots of solution like update adobe flash player, update AMD Catalyst to Version 12.10, Test with other motherboard, change PSU+more. Finally it still the same. Or it need to configure a crossfirex to work?. It still works well for gaming just video problems.

Mb:AsRock H77M
CPU:i5 3470
RAM:8gb
GC:1gb Biostar HD 5670(also include gold finger connector on board design)
PSU:600 watt
It work on the old system which spec: Asus p5kpl am-se,intel pentium 4, 1gb ddr2, but when ram upgrade to 2gb the problem back again. i don't understand why?

Aug 13, 2011whenever i try to watch a Internet video or any online flash video through my usual browser firefox, the video will freeze the entire works. it's not every time. sometimes the video will play through but almost always it'll freeze everything. can't move cursor and only by closing lid and going into sleep mode can i get back up and running. firefox 3.6.18, video drivers updated. flash updated.one curious thing did happen tonight for first time however. while i was scrolling through bookmarks looking for this site the video stopped but i was able to continue using computer. could not get video to replay however. sometimes everything freezes but cursor goes into that "working circle" mode. but still can't get it to unfreeze.

Jun 21, 2012I bought the laptop used about a month ago and everything seemed fine. A few days later I noticed that the fan was running a lot, so I read a tutorial online and used a can of compressed air to clean out/off any dust and such. Right away the fan/computer was much quieter. My situation now is that whenever I watch a video (Netflix, HULU or even something stored on my HD), within a minute or two the video freezes/locks up or sound and video are lagging quite a bit. I have no indications of malware/virus and it seems everything else is mostly fine with the computer. I did the Windows troubleshooting and it recommended lowering resolution and turning off Windows Transparency. I haven't done either because I wanted to ask for help before I start changing settings. I installed Core Temp. 1.0 about an hour ago and both Core's are running between 72-76 deg C with a Tj.Max of 85*C.

May 29, 2012bought a pre-made from computer from tiger electronics last year in june.immediately, as in the day i got it, i started crashing when opening Internet.i solved that by turning off the realtime visualization or something along those lines and it was temporarily fixed. i began to have more start up problems and other stupid issues with the computer and their tech-support insisted that nothing was wrong and i'm an idiot but to satisfy me they'd change my hard drive. so that did nothing, and unless i want to pay a bunch for them to do a real check up on it i've been screwed. whenever i open a video, from windows media player to my flip video camera player my computer will instantly crash. whether it's a blue, green, white, or black screen it's different every time.

The problem comes and goes, only when playing videos, started recently. Tried updating flash, untick enable hardware acceleration, windows updates, ... still happens.

Jul 3, 2012Ever since I got this computer (Dell XPS) about 3 years ago it has had problems with freezing but recently it has become much more frequent. It mainly happens when watching a movie or long video but has started happening any time, even when the computer is in sleep mode.

Dec 8, 2009I can't get sound from any of the web pages I've visited. I tried to install a codec package, and it won't allow me. I am the sole user of the computer, I'm running W7 64bit with a X-Fi soundcard. All other sound works fine and it is hooked up via spdif optical link to a seperate surround sound system.
Therefore, My first question, How do I get the sound to work?
2nd question, even if is or isn't the codec issue, why won't windows update the registry with the codec installation package (1402 error). I am the administrator!

May 2, 2012I purchased an HP latop right when Windows 7 was coming out and the HP laptop had Windows Vista when I bought it but I was sent a free upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate by HP during the time when they were selling laptops with Vista and sending free upgrades.So what I want to know since the fan stopped working some time ago, (cooling it with a small fan from Walmart sending air around and inside it somewhat) on the HP laptop I purchased and recieved the free upgrade. If I return the HP laptop to factory settings (did a complete backup when purchased) and put Vista back on it, can I use my Windows 7 Ultimate disk in a newly purchased laptop since it will still only be on one laptop since I am returning the old one to Vista?And do I have to uninstall Windows 7 Ultimate with the Upgrade disk so it knows it's no longer on that computer. In other words are they linked by some type of serial number on my HP laptop that only allows me to install the Windows Upgrade disk on that specific machine?

Nov 27, 2012Today I got 2 new 4GB sticks of Corsair Vengeance Blue RAM to go with the 8GB I already have in my system (same RAM as well). After all 4 sticks were installed, my computer failed to power on properly. It would power on for about 5-6 seconds then shut off, and continuously try to start up again, only to shut back down. I did have a few minor overclocks in place so I went into BIOS and reset everything back to default, but the computer still refuses to power on with all 4 sticks in place. I've tried different combinations of the 4 sticks and they all work fine as long as all 4 aren't hooked up at the same time. My PSU is 650W if that helps. I really doubt 2 additional sticks of RAM is making much difference in power usage.
Note: As to why I need/want 16GB of RAM, I play around with Photoshop + do some video editing in After Effects and Premiere, and I found myself maxing out the 8GB I had rather easily.

Nov 12, 2009I bought a HP desktop a few months ago. I thought it was outside the 'free upgrade' period,so I bought the Home Premium upgrade when it was offered for half price. I installed the purchased upgrade when it was released, but I've just found out I qualify for the free upgrade from HP.
So -- a friend is looking for Windows 7. Here are 2 scenarios I'm considering:
1) Can I install the HP upgrade on his computer? Or is there something that restricts the use of the HP upgrade only for use on HP systems?
or
2) Can I use the HP upgrade product key on my system and use the key from my purchased Windows 7 Upgrade on my friend's computer? If I change keys, does it automatically make the old key available again for installation on a new system?

1) I see my computer really slower. I'm using one background program is Norton internet security 2012. does it make my 64 bit computer slow?
2) Before I upgrade from 2GB to 4GB, I just use about 1-1,5 GB RAM (and when no software use, just 800 MB). But, when I use 64 bit version with 4GB ram, windows start with 1,4 GB ram, and when i use software (like before), it turn to 2,5-2,7 GB?
