View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought an Alienware with Blu-Ray player but when I tried watching Green Lantern Blu-Ray disc, I was getting a Windows Media Player error. Was assuming that sicen I have the Blu Ray reader option installed, Wndows would also have the appropriate drivers to watch a BluRay movie. What can I install/use to watch my BluRay movies in my Alien-ware laptop?

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy computer has recently started giving me the BSOD. The laptop was new store built about 2 months, BSOD only started about 1 week ago, and has happened several times. It's mainly when using BBC iPlayer to watch videos, but also when using Spotify and once when I tried to empty the recycle bin. I've attached a zip of the DMP files and the other info.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI built a PC the middle of last year, and ever since I've been having freezing problems. Either when I'm watching a video, or playing a game at random times my PC will completely freeze, forcing me to reboot. I've found (testing different RAM, scanning for viruses, updating the bios/video card drivers, etc.) and so far nothing has worked. Here are my specs:
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z68 DELUXE/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68
Processor: Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz
Video Card: HIS Radeon HD 6970 2GB 256-bit GDDR5
PSU: Antec High Current Gamer 900W
RAM: 16GB
I also have a pretty big case [URL] with two large fans. At first I thought the card might be overheating, but even under a heavy load the highest temp it ever reached was 81 degrees (and that was only once while rendering an effects heavy video). I don't necessarily want to reinstall windows 7, but I'll try that too if I have to.
I can't get sound from any of the web pages I've visited. I tried to install a codec package, and it won't allow me. I am the sole user of the computer, I'm running W7 64bit with a X-Fi soundcard. All other sound works fine and it is hooked up via spdif optical link to a seperate surround sound system.
Therefore, My first question, How do I get the sound to work?
2nd question, even if is or isn't the codec issue, why won't windows update the registry with the codec installation package (1402 error). I am the administrator!

Or it need to configure a crossfirex to work?. It still works well for gaming just video problems.

View 1 Replies View Relatedevery hq movies embed with flash players (ex: Internet hq) run really choppy and rough in my windows7 7100. it seems skipping some frames.
the problem is probably not the browser or the hardware drivers since i try downloading the file and run it smoothly in the media player. i've got the latest adobe flash player & shockware player.
My 720p movies plays not perfectly in any player. Is my system is slow for 720p movies? My system's specs are in my CP.
View 9 Replies View RelatedJust an hour back, I stumbled upon this FreeSmith Free Video Player, that said it can play 200+ blu-ray movie disks. FreeSmith Video Player -- Free All-in-one media player Support Different Media Types Audio, Video, DVD, Blu-ray, all can be played smoothly with the smart FreeSmith video player. It supports almost all popular audio and video formats by default, including MKV, AVI, MP4, MPEG, FLV, WMV, HD and more. Besides, it offers you convenience to play DVD and blu-ray discs.
When the 8MB download completed, Windows 7 said that this type of file is not normally downloaded and can cause harm. But Softpedia had certified that it is free of any malware. ( I normally do not care for these warnings, smug in the fact that I can always restore my system in the event of any mishap and try all software but some people do take it seriously.)
OK, I played Night at the Museum 2 briefly and it did play the BD. ( My computer did not crash )So anyone wanting a free Blu-ray player can try this out.
But let me say, sooner or later you would like to changeover to the regular blu-ray software players which are a class apart. These freeware playerss can only be fillers.
This morning I was using the 'Default' option to change program associations from Windows Media Player to VLC. Apparently I changed one too many since now I am unable to watch live or recorded programs using Windows Media Center. Does any know which one I should switch back? .WTV is still associated with Windows Media Center.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter a brief wait, the sound comes back on, but soon cuts off again. It is impossible to watch a complete video under these circumstances.I haven't made any major changes to my computer, and I didn't have this problem until about a month ago.
View 2 Replies View Relatedunfortunately I had to reinstall the OS on my notebook and now I stumbled upon this particular problem:
I use Mozilla's Firefox 8.0 and downloaded Adobe Flash Player, xvid-codecs and the DivX-Bundle. But it still is impossible for me to watch flash videos, e.g. those seen on VideoWeed, NovaMov, or Videobb. Where the video should be, all I get is white. When I right-click on it, I get: About Adobe flash player 11.1.102.55. It also doesn't work on IE9. I have already reinstalled all the aforementioned software, rebooted my system. Still didn't work. I also installed all the "Windows Update" downloads.
ok. i need to be clarified in some things that have popped up since some time. this is, if flash will come to an end? certainly, dhtml have evolved to an incredible state, that you don´t need to know actionscript or what the hell is that, to see real time motion in a web page since javascript can do it for you.
now, since people like to watch videos on the net and hd is gathering the whole market, .swf - .flv files, lack the power to accelerate gpu hardware meaning that videos on almost all computers will lag.
firefox, with its 3.5 introduced the power to reproduce h.264 videos and display hd content on the web without the need of the player.
people with this, did got convinced that flash would be obsolete and it will be thrown to darkness. but, adobe recently started negotiating with the manufacturers of commercial video cards, getting to an agreement to bring gpu acceleration through a web browser to the .swf and .flv files, meaning that hd videos streaming sites like Internet, which recently introduced 1080p playback, will be optimal when it comes to stream hd videos, which really sucked because of the lack of the gpu acceleration.
so now that .flv videos does support gpu acceleration through a web browser, think that a well elaborated scripting language as actionscript and everything related to it (.swf and .flv) will die? i want to know what you guys think about this.
whenever i try to watch a Internet video or any online flash video through my usual browser firefox, the video will freeze the entire works. it's not every time. sometimes the video will play through but almost always it'll freeze everything. can't move cursor and only by closing lid and going into sleep mode can i get back up and running. firefox 3.6.18, video drivers updated. flash updated.one curious thing did happen tonight for first time however. while i was scrolling through bookmarks looking for this site the video stopped but i was able to continue using computer. could not get video to replay however. sometimes everything freezes but cursor goes into that "working circle" mode. but still can't get it to unfreeze.
View 14 Replies View RelatedAudio seems to cut out frequently. It's like I'm twisting the audio plug in the jack, if that makes sense. Sometimes it just cuts out, but other times it plays a split second of the audio on top of the next split second of audio. My sound card is a creative audigy SE. The drivers are up to date. I didn't have this problem with XP, so I think this is a software problem.

Hd videos downloaded from camera appear to be in a colour negative form reminiscent of old 35mm colour negative film. The first frame appears normal but when play button is pressed then it reverts to this strange colouring. I cannot find any controls in Windows 7 to change this.
