Upgrade Path From Localized Version Of Vista To MSDNAA EN US Version Of Win7
I'm running an OEM version of Windows Vista Home Premium, and since I'm a class B netizen I only had access to a localized version of my operative system. The MSDNAA graciously makes a copy of Windows 7 Professional English and a copy of Windows 7 Multilanguage Pack available to me. Howerer there is no localized version of the former and no WinVista equivalent of the latter. The Windows installer aborts pointing out the localization conflict and links me to this unhelpful page. My OEM seems to have disabled the option of using Windows Anytime Upgrade, so I will not pour money into this option just to get the option to relocalize my OS to English 'just in case'. Also, I would really rather not lose a week into driver scavenging, clicking through programs installers, staring at progress bars getting filled (multiple times). I'd really want to just upgrade. Is this a dead end? Do I have to cross my fingers and wait for Godot err a localized version of Win7 to appear on MSDNAA? Or is there a way around this?

Difference Between Full Version And Upgrade Version
I have upgrade my computer (E6750 to i5 750, 3G DDR2 to 4G DDR3) and I am thinking about upgrading to 7 64bit. Currently I have a dual boot system with XP Home 32 and Vista Home Premium 32. I want to upgrade the Vista to Window 7 64 and leave the XP there. I am wondering can I but the upgrade version for the job?

Upgrade Advisor Automation
Is there any way to install/run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor silently on a computer? My problem is that I am trying to assess whether a large amount of computers are Windows 7 compatible so I basically want to create a script that runs the upgrade advisor silently at night and then copies the results to a share. I already have an ability to process the results if I can silently collect them.Is there any command line options or configurations for the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor that anyone can help me with?

Problems With Upgrade Advisor?
Anyone cast any light on why I have problems running W7UA on both my laptop and desktop running Vista 32 bit? It worked fine on an older PC running XP pro after downloading microsoft NET thingy! The three are all networked together - has that anything to do with it? I click the setup.exe it asks if I want to run and I click Run and nothing!!

Win 7 Upgrade Advisor Error
Running XP Pro, i7 920 , 4 gig of memory, Gig MB, GTX 9800 Video, Lan Cable connection with remote connection for printer only = going to upgrade to Win 7, however, I can't run Win 7 Advisor - after download on Windows site, I try to run and it says I am not connected to Internet. Could it be my router is outdated for Win7? Any suggestions = Thanks for the assist!

Upgrade Advisor Has Stopped Working
So downloaded and tried to Upgrade to Windows 7 today and of course it got to about the last step and told me there was an error, something couldn't be upgraded and it went back to vista. Â It told me to install the Upgrade Advisor to help alleviate the issue but wouldn't you know it, that's messed up to. Â Downloaded the newest version (10/19) and installed it and go to run it and get a prompt telling me it stopped working.

Cannot Run Win 7 Upgrade Advisor
I cannot run Windows 7 Upgrade advisor to completion because it fails with the message:-Â "The Xml page cannot be displayed Cannot view xml input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click refresh button, or try again later. The server did not understand the request, or the request was invalid. Error processing resource @http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtm..." What does all that mean? I am running Vista with service pack 2 on a Dell Desktop. (It works on a Dell Laptop with same OS)

Upgrade Advisor Beta Problems
I just downloaded the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor Beta on my HP Pavilion DV6000 with Vista Premium. All were okay, except for the Windows Aero part. The programs said that it was not capable of Windows Aero (on Windows 7), but Vista can run it Aero smoothly. I have a Nvidia GeForce Go 6150 on a HP Pavilion. Since the Windows 7 requirements are the same as Windows Vista, is my system really capable of running Aero? Note: 6150 have shared memory graphics, and I only have 1 GB of memory. Did my memory had something to do with it?

Upgrade Advisor Only Found 32-bit Driver
Ok, I'm wanting to go from Vista 32-bit to 7 64-bit. I ran the upgrade adviser and it said my Linksys wireless adapter needed action taken. I went to linksys website, but only found the 32-bit driver, and I'm guessing that won't work on 64-bit, right? I have the WMP54G ver 4.1 if anyone can help me out.

Upgrade Advisor Not Recognizing Raid Drives
I currently have Vista 64 Home Premium and I am trying to upgrade to 7. Using windows advisor it states that I require 20gb of space. I currently have 18.5 on my SSD - where the operating system is. However I have x2 1TB drives (RAID config) with loads of space. Do I still need to do a custom install as I am unable to free up any more space on the OS ssd? Windows advisor does not seem to see the other drives?

Upgrade Advisor Ran Into An Unexpected Error
Before purchasing my copy of Win 7 I want to run the upgrade advisor but whenever I run it I get "windows 7 upgrade advisor ran into an unexpected error. Please reinstall Windows 7 upgrade advisor and try again" This is happening in "clean boot" and safe mode start. At present I am running Vista Home premium 32 bit on a Dell Dimension 9200 having upgraded from XP.

Upgrade Advisor Won't Run
I've downloaded and installed the advisor, but it won't start. And no error message at all. The privacy link works though. My PC is an Acer 8920G - a year old. .NET 3.5sp1 plus all other MS updates. OS is Vista Home Premium. Have rebooted, reinstalled, downloaded again - no different. Also checked the Event log - nothing other than saying the install was successful. The animation for the Start check button works. Then nothing. Any ideas?

I have Windows Vista running on a Toshiba Satellite L505D, AMD Athlon Dual Core, 3GB SDRAM, 250 GB HDD. Running Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor detected Office 2007 (not fully installed, only as a Trial), but not Office 2003 SP-1. How can I determine if my Notebook PC is compatible for Office 2003? It also did not detect Power Desk Pro 7, Corel Paintshop Pro XI, CSE HTML Validator 9.0 and NotetabPro 6.12, and Dreamwaver MX.

Upgrade Advisor Unable To Connect To Microsoft Server
I downloaded the Advisor but it gives me an error every time I click on Start Check. The error message unable to connect to Microsoft server for compatibility and tells me to check my Internet connection and if there is a new version of the Advisor available. I don't have any problem with my Internet connection and there is no other version of this Advisor, so I am totally lost why it can't connect--and I have been trying all morning and this afternoon. Anyone else having this problem or know what is going on?

win 7 upgrade advisor reported that teac ca200 19 in 1 card reader was compatable. After installing win 7 over vista i found that there was not a driver for CA200 that would word. What can i do without going back to Vista on Dell studio 540s.

Windows Upgrade Advisor Won't Install
Trying to install Win 7 Upgrade Advisor on a two-year old Vista machine (DELL XPS 420). Clicking the setup icon to install gets me nothing. No installation screens, no warnings, no errors, nothing. I tried installing on an older XP laptop and the software installs there just fine. I've checked the other related topics and they seem to be related to problems installing on XP, not Vista. Any ideas what I'm missing? I've never encountered an installation that fails before it even starts.

Upgrade Advisor States Live Onecare Is Not Compatible
I am using One Care for the trial period and I am want to continue with a subscription. I was thinking of upgrading Windows Vista to Windows 7 but the Advisor stated that One Care must be uninstall as it couldn't run under Windows 7. I am currently using a desk top and lap top both of which can run Windows 7. I have very few issues with Vista. If it came to a choice between the upgrade and One Care, I would choose One Care. Can you asure me that One Care will run under Windows 7?

Running XPPRo sp3 I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade advisor and got the message "Windows 7 Upgrade advisor ran into a problem scanning your devices. Upgrade advisor needs to be able to scan your devices to determine if your computer is capable of running Windows 7. Please let us know about this problem." Unfortunately there is no feedback path given to let Microsoft know about this problem. Any ideas?
