I have a Table with 2 fields. The 1st field is Labeled "TimeStopped". The 2nd field is Labeled "TimeDiff". I need to subtract the next record of TimeStopped field from the preceeding record TimeStopped field and put the difference in field 2 TimeDiff so I can know how long each stop was.
About a month after I started using it, the Say the Time clock program I bought stopped launching the management menu when I right click the date/time field in the task tray (notification area).
Therefore, I can't use or edit the program. Neither the touchpad nor the cordless mouse works.
Other than this problem, my computer works great. Every single item that's meant to be right clicked works for me.
Is there a way I can generate a log to show the software manufacturer (Provenio) that it's their problem and not mine? I am a novice user but I can follow instructions. However, I don't want to put my computer at risk if I make an entry error.
I've been using computers for 18 years and I've never had this problem until I bought this software and used it for about a month.
I just wanted a conclusive way of putting the ball back in the manufacturer's court.
I am trying to update my computer's clock by synchronizing with an internet time source, but keep getting "Unable to continue - you do not have permission to perform this task. Contact computer administrator for help"!! As I am the only user, presume I am therefore the administrator, and have never had any trouble previously?
Mostly I always switch off Windows Update. Because Windows Update is take very long time for me. My Internet connection is too low. I was off Windows Update. So What can be happen if I didn't update? One of my friends computer also want to switch off Windows Update. But when I open Windows Update Icon, It was appear the text like that " #elementModuleHeaderText# "So What is that mean? How to switch off Windows Update that computer.
I've always wondered if running a manual automatic update (XP, Vista, 7) while you have auto updates turned on would slow things down? Often times I'm updating manually and then the icon pops up saying it is downloading or there are updates ready. Does Windows Update detect if there's already an update going or will it re-download the entire update?
I am rebuilding a workstation here and I am wonder "when" (In terms of order) do you guy run Windows Update during a bare metal reinstall of Windows 7?I currently do ALL my drivers first (and confirm all devices are working) and then move over to Windows Update. But I see some folks go to WU right after the Windows 7 installer is done and you are placed on the desktop for the first time?
My explorer.exe is bugging. I cannot open anything, even Windows Task Manager and it seems to be that it's frozen in time. Windows Task Manager is not open, and I have two icons in my tray for it, both frozen. Skype won't update itself, like, my friend, I was IMing him and I read the IM, and it's still saying I have a notification, on Skype AND on explorer.exe (Task bar wise).
You know how when you make changes inside a folder or any directory under windows 7 using explorer, updates, new files downloaded, any changes will reflect in that folder listing/view instanteously, without you having to hit the "refesh" button on the address bar to see what changes took place in that folder. My problem is with the new Fantom Drive ext USB HDD I bought. Anything I do inside that drives folder hiearchy of files. Like downloading new files from firefox, or unraring a bunch of archives; all changes will not show until I go manually hit the folder refresh button every time. Why is that not automatic? Like it is with my main internal C Drive, and my other ext usb LaCie HDD.
We are currently looking for a solution to re-image a Dell laptop, with a custom Windows 7 image, to an employee in the field. Most of our employees work from home or are out of state in small, temporary offices. Currently, if a user gets a virus or has a BSOD (or any other issue), and I can't remote to the laptop over the Internet, I have to setup a new laptop at headquarters and ship it to their location. I need a solution that will allow me to re-install our custom image to the laptop, with no CDs or thumb drives. Possible a hidden partition on the laptop that contains a WIM file. Then I can walk the user through a couple simple .bat command that would initiate the re-install of the OS (we have the user's data backed up so that is not an issue).
The problem I'm having is that when sorting my inbox by 'From', it says no items are there and the bar spins along as if it's searching. If I choose to sort my inbox by anything else it works fine.I can also sort all other folders by every attribute, including 'From's so am unsure as to why I can't do it in the inbox.
I recently upgraded to Windows 7 from XP. I have discovered that I now can no longer cut/copy & paste a password into the pop up username/password window in IE. I used to be able to do this in XP, but in Win7 when i paste I see many more asterisks than there are letters in the password I am trying to paste and the password is never accepted by the web page. Apparently this is a "security" feature, but I just find it an annoyance
Is there a way to automatically position the cursor on the password field after reawakening from the screensaver ? It is a PITA having to always position the mouse cursor to the password field.
The Search option in features is checked, restarted several times and still no search field in the start menu, although the search option is still checked. What could possibly be wrong?
I have Windows 7, build 7100 installed on 2 computers. In 1, there is a search field next to the address field in the explorer window. The other computer shows only the address field. How do I enable the search field?
Recently noticed that I don't have a target field on my Shortcut properties menu.Haven't really needed it until recently for a few games. This is just one of many issues I've been coming across recently. Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit, if that's
I have a long vertical line (about 4 times the length of the text cursor and about 3/8" to the right of the text cursor) in fields that I would normally enter text. I have tried all of the control panel settings that I think would affect the cursor like themes and mouse pointer settings. This is my wife's computer and she told me that it started doing that a few weeks ago. I am not aware of any new programs except the usual Windows updates and anti-virus updates.
This issue is happening on a Workstation PC with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit....the last software update before login crash was Trend Micro corporate Officescan if that helps at all.
This has happened mabe 2-3 times. Boot up computer, get the windows password field, put in pw, next screen is a cross-hatch (vertical and horizontal lines) of various colors. Cursor doesn't work, nothing works, manually shut the computer down. On rebooting, everything is OK??? Nothing appears to be wrong with my monitor (Samsung 193P), or any other functions of computer.
have had this problem for a while now and any help would be greatly appreciated. Essentially I cannot install anything, as it requires User Account Control verification, but the password field for the admin pass does not show up, so the only option each time is to click 'No' and cancel the installation. I assume this is because there is no admin password set. I tried for a long while previously, I have tried to enter using safe mode and try and disable UAC, yet when doing so the UAC actually pops up in sade mode without the pass field again. I have also tried using Offline NT Registor and Password Editor to create a new pass for the admin, yet no luck as the admin afterwards doesn't require a pass nor does the pass field in the UAC show.
Every input field that is displayed is immediatley filled with an endless stream of dashes -------- and I cannot stop it.
Even the Microsoft button immediately launches search and starts filling this with dashes. Excel starts and then immediately fills the first cell clicked with dashes - pages of them if I let it continue. I have Norton 360 which reports nothing untoward and have checked the keyboard to make sure the keys are not sticking (they are not) but it seems bizarre. I have tried everything and have managed to negotiate to restore - but (as ususal) restore just wastes your time going through the process and reporting that the restore hasn't worked 30-minutes later. Other odd things are happening too - restore only shows one restore point ands when I click to see more, I get a flash of other restore points available and immediately the screen changes to just show one restore point again.
I have taken the memory out and tried each of the two modules on it's own - this changes nothing. Have I got a virus or trojan? The last thing that has happened is random folders opening and closing...I have Win 7 32-bit Home Premium fully service packed to latest spec.
I loaded autocad 2004 on a computer with windows 7 on it.
One problem I'm having is I can't edit field books under data/collection - edit field book When I select to edit nothing happens. however, I can import the field book.
Have created some basic online forms. Now I am tasked with displaying each entire field length (visually somehow) so the user can see approximately how much room they have to enter test. Examples:Name: Field length highlighted or shaded Location: Underlining would work to indicate field lengthPhone: ( Parenthesis might work )If I type "Enter Name Here" in Properties, under Default Text, only "Enter Name Here" is shaded. The shading does not extend to the maximum length I selected. The field extends that far, but no indicator of the entire field length
I spilt some water on my laptop a few days ago but fortunately it's completely dried out and working perfectly.... apart from this minor (but important) issue.
Problem: the system time does not stay correct. Even after manually updating the BIOS time and also even after manually syncing it with the various servers available under the time options.
Fix: set the internet time sync interval to every minute rather than its default setting? How do I do this?
P.S. This couldn't be a CMOS battery issue surely because even when the system is on and plugged in the system time still deviates from correct. (I assume the CMOS battery is only used when the system is powered off.) If I need it replaced, how does that sit with my Dell hardware warranty?
So I bought a new desktop computer about 2 weeks ago and ever since I got it, it's been freezing (locking) up on me at random times. I currently use Windows 7 64-bit. I put in a new graphics card and new memory sticks just the other day and I got the same freezing problem. It's very random. I can be surfing the web and the next thing you know, the whole thing freezes up. I can't move the mouse. Can't do CTRL ALT DEL. Can't do anything. Seems as if the whole computer locks up. The only way to restart the computer is by manually holding in the power button for a few seconds. So since I replaced graphics card and installed new memory, I was thinking it may be something else causing this.
I've changed the setting of maximum processor state on battery from 100% to 50% to save battery. But the setting resets to default 100% time to time. I don't know why this is happening.
Once in a while I find that the time zone moves from GMT to Pacific Time.Has anyone any idea what would cause this, new CMOS battery fitted, which ever time zone shows the time is correct for that zone. Checked the BIOS and that also changes.I dual boot two Win 7 installations.
I have an issue with my P8P67 PRO (Rev 3.1). Mouse but mainly keyboard (both Microsoft) are not detected during the cold boot from time to time, i suspect the BIOS is the one to blame i have the latest version, what can i do?Both are USB.When i turn on the PC from time to time a long beep takes place and a message during posting (no keyboard detected). Sometimes happens sometimes not. PS/2 ports didn't work for me, when im using them NOTHING gets recognized (and yes i turned off the PC before plugging them).
I loaded Windows 7 three computers, 2 desktops and 1 laptop. My Dell XPS is the one that keeps flashing a black screen from time to time. It seems like it is thinking for a few seconds but when this happens it is like my monitor turns off.
