I have tried several times to send an attachment but I keep getting a failed delivey message. It is a CV written out using microsoft works. I have tried sending it from my ''desktop'' and also from ''my documents'' but these methods have failed.

Every time that I receive an attachment in an email the only way that I can see it is if the same is downloaded and when is download is saved in the documents or picture files.A lot of them is not worth it to even download less saved. Please, because of my job I receive a lot of attachment and it a wast of time download and deleted all that I am not interested to keep it.

In both email systems when I select "attachment" the window will open but has no menu bar where I can select the appropriate drive or folder of the file I wish to attach. Thought it was a Gmail issue, but discovered that Live Mail does the same thing. Wondering if there is a way to get the menu bar back?

View 1 Replies View RelatedRunning Windows 7 (64 bit), Eudora 7.1.0.9, Microsoft Office 2003 (Outlook is installed but I do not use Outlook as my email client)I want to attach a file to an email in Eudora by positioning mouse over a picture or a pdf file then right click mouse, click "send to", click "mail recipient". However, Outlook opens up and my attachment is placed in Outlook. Eudora is my default email program so why isn't Eudora receiving the attachment.When I close Outlook and try again I get message "Microsoft Office Outlook. A dialog box is open. Close it and try again." I went to tools, options, advanced options, Com Add-ins, and unchecked the add-ons but this does not help.I am unable to uninstall just Outlook (Excel and Word also uninstall with it). When I click control panel, uninstall, Microsoft Office the "change" option does not appear. Only Uninstall (as in uninstall the entire Office program) appears. So uninstalling Outlook is not an option.On my old Windows XP computer , I had the same software installed (Eudora and Ooutlook)and attaching files to Eudora worked perfectly.

I have ran combofix in hopes that it will repair/replace missing files. View 3 Replies View RelatedI found out that if a file has an extra dot before the extension, e.g. book1..xls (or book1. if you have "hide known file extensions" enabled in Folder Options), then the following will occur. If you right click the file, click Send to, click Mail Recipient, a new mail window opens up with the attachment of the file RENAMED TO book1._xls. I.e. the extra dot is replaced with an underscoreAlso, the funny thing is if there are additional dots before the extension, only the 2nd, 4th, 6th, etc. dots will be replaced with underscores.That means if the dot JUST BEFORE the extension is in an even-number position (counting from left to right), it will be replaced with "_", making the file extension looking like "_xls" and thus the attachment will be unopenable by your recipient unless he or she manually deletes the undercore from the extension.E.g. book1...xls will become book1._.xls; file name changed but still openable.But book1....xls will become book1._._xls; file becomes unopenable.This does not happen in Outlook Express. It seems to only happen with Windows Live Mail

Whenever I send an email with an attachment upwards of 4Mb it goes through the sending process then comes up with a send error. The attachment has in fact been sent but remains in the out box as though it hasn't and then it keeps sending it over and over until I catch it and delete it. I have Windows 7 home Premium on a Toshiba Satellite 5000 with 4Gb RAM.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from XP to Win7. Now, when I have a file download or attachment, either in Outlook or any browser, it takes me to the File Save window. Before I could simply click on the attachment and it would open (unless it couldn't figure out what kind of file it was). This is a real pain when viewing pictures attached to an email. I've looked everywhere and can't find this issue addressed in any documentation. I've had Win 7 in the past and this didn't happen.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an ASUS N51Vf on which I just changed a defective hard drive with a new one, same size and specs as the old.After a clean windows 7 install all was working fine. I created a System Restore Point. No errors reported, restore point created.I then tried to restore all my data and settings with a back up I had on a external hard drive.This back up has been made with LaCie Genie Back up Assistant, a program with decent review online.After having finished to restore the back up, I was asked to restart windows, which I did. Windows restarted but then it failed to log in giving an error (which appears to be quite common googling it). A window pop up saying "Interactive logon process initialization has failed. Please consult the event log for more details."If you say ok the windows keeps appearing again and again.There was no way to access windows whatever mode (safe, normal and all the other boot option appearing when pressing f8) I choosed. Startup repair was as well ineffective (since there was no problem in the startup process itself.)
People online reported the only way to fix this was to check the event log files on another computer. So I installed Ubuntu on the unallocated space I left when installing win 7, I copied the logs files, I went through all the errors in the event viewer of another computer, particularly those in application.evtx, I copied safe version of winlogon.exe logonUI.exe and userInit.exe on windows/system32 through Ubuntu but nothing worked. Same error preventing log in.I then went into the System Restore Point nasty affair. As I previously mentioned, I created this point prior to restore the LaCie backup. The Restore point was there, accessible through the standard recovery options. What appears is this: standard final window of System Restore and I couldn't select any of this drive and proceed.So I go to the Command Prompt and I realize that windows has been installed on D:, not on C:, which appears to be the system reserved partition with 70Mb free. Something standard when you install Windows 7 apparently. Since my backup was made copying files from C: and I didn't care for the path when restoring my LaCie backup, I thought I messed up things attempting to copy to the wrong drive, even though no error was reported to me.So I formatted everything, reinstalled windows paying attention not to create other partitions. Clean install, all went through fine. I check on Computer what's the windows unit label, and it is C indeed. I didn't check for the presence of other partitions. I re-restore files from the LaCie Backup. At the end I try to create a new System Restore point, but a weird error tells me that I can't. Already suspicious, I restart, to find myself on the exact same position as before, unable to login, unable to restore (both same as previously described) and, moreover, checking through command prompt, win 7 appears to be in the D: unit again with the C: set up to be the system reserved!!
I am using Windows7 and IE8 on a Dell2350. The computer was working fine till last Friday and now I can't download anything. I keep getting a message saying "Unable to download... Unable to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later." The dialog box itself doesn't show how big the file is or the download speed or the time left. I also keep getting a message saying a program has corrutped my program setting.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSomething was deleted on the IE9 folder located at Program files(x86) by a 3rd party software(revo uninstaller pro) and now running IE9 x86 is impossible though the x64 version still works fine.I tried reinstalling IE9 but no luck, version x86 wont run at all.Registry entries could also been deleted as revo uninstaller pro will search for leftovers and i blindly pressed the delete thinking i was uninstalling a game but somehow IE was included.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThat is, when want to format my hard drive, I (according to previous posts) right click on computer management, and select "Run as administrator" then open up the disk management and "format" will appear as an option in bold.It doesn't.Format is shaded no matter what.I was able to get rid of a nasty virus checker that disabled my machine by forcing safe mode and garbage canning the virus checker, but I wonder if it damaged my machine.Also, F8 doesn't work on this machine, it never has.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI used Acer's function to restore my computer to factory settings, and I picked the option to save backup files.
I can find the backup folder, and I know the files are there because the folders take up quite a bit of size, but there are no programs in the folder. The only programs I have been able to get was through MTGO. It found the files some how. Excel, word, etc can't find those files. Even the ones MTGO found I can only see using the program.
Does anyone know how I can get my old prgrams back?
