Adobe Flash Player Doesn't Work?
Sep 1, 2011My Adobe Flash Player doesn't work, everytime I go to a video on the internet, a box with a circle, triangle and square comes up in the corner, when I install it and open IE, my dad's favourites and stuff shows up, but when I close it and open it again, it goes back to mine and IE doesn't work again,

Feb 3, 2013I have a 8 GB Transcend flash drive. I works properly on other systems (at least one system), but when I plug it in my Laptop, it is not even detected. Other USB devices work perfectly with my laptop, the only problem is with my Flash drive AND my laptop. I have tried to re install USB Hubs etc. of the laptop, but it did not help.

Mar 5, 2012I have three flash drives, one a 1gb HP flash drive, one a 2gb Sandisk Cruzer, and one a 16gb Patriot XTWhen the HP 1gb drive and Sandisk 2gb are plugged in during boot, nothing happens. It POSTs fine and starts windows.When the Patriot drive is plugged in during boot, the BIOS hangs 2/3rds of the way through POST.I have tried multiple formatting schemes. Also note that there is absolutely nothing on any of these drives, they are empty and freshly formatted.1gb formatted to FAT works, FAT32 works, exFAT works, all regardless of allocation size.2gb formatted to FAT works, FAT32 works, exFAT works, all regardless of allocation size.16gb formatted to FAT32 fails, exFAT fails, regardless of allocation size. have tried a full (non-quick) format to check for bad sectors, to no avail I have tried HP format tool rather than windows format tool, to no avail.So at this point I'm thinking it's the Dell BIOS at fault here, and I'm going to have to dualboot instead of making a multiboot drive.

Oct 29, 2009I had Windows XP, then installed Windows 7 32bit Ultimate on IDE hard drive.
HOW CAN I FORMAT THE IDE HARD DRIVE SO AS TO DO A CLEAN INSTALL?
When putting CD in and pressing Intall. I wanted to Format my 40Gig IDE hard drive (that I use for windows intallation only). So as to start CLEAN install.
The CD recognised my hard drives. 250Gig SATA and 40Gig IDE....however would not let me format either or change in any way.....something about load driver?? VIA 6140 something.
So instead I thought to boot the disk and try that way. It didnt recognise the IDE hard drive at all. anyway I chose to do it the first way once I found that driver I mentioned.
I installed windows on woindows, then deleted the windows.old file afterwords.

May 3, 2012My only Windows DVD was an upgrade disk I used before on the same computer a few months before. I used the command prompt on the DVD to create a NTFS partition for the OS to load onto. After that everything installed and worked fine until I tried to activate use the upgrade key, it says that it can only be for upgrading and not clean installations. I was under the impression that since I already used the key to upgrade on the computer, I would be able to use it again. Will I need to buy a new install disk or will I be able to activate the OS another way? If I do need to buy a new install disk, would it be possible for me to simply find a X16-96072 Windows 7 Home Premium iso and use the activation code that my computer came with to provide the upgrade code with?

Jun 8, 2011I got a new motherboard yesterday, installed it, and installed windows. This morning, I decided it would be a good idea to flash the UEFI (BIOS) to the newest version. Now, when I try to boot, it just sits with a gray cursor at the top left of the screen. I went into the UEFI and went to boot order, but it only shows my 1TB hard drive and my dvd drive. But I had a 750GB hard drive with windows installed. I think this is the reason it won't boot, because it doesn't see the drive with the OS installed.

Jan 23, 2013I'm about to just reinstall Windows. Recently the sound on anything that uses flash in any browser is constant skipping/popping. The video timer moves as usual too. Dec 5, 2011I have some perfectly good USB flash-card readers from Transcend. They work just great on my XP office machine, and on my home machine if I dig out my XP boot drive and boot XP. But Win7 can't use flash in this device. Disk Management shows the correct size but can't show Properties; no drive letter is assigned, and I can't see the drives. They all work just find under XP.
I hesitate to go buy another brand of reader; USB is supposed to be plug-and-play.

Nov 13, 2009i installed windows 7, and everything seemed to work fine.
installed a bunch of programs, they also all seem to work.
but then i decided to do some backups; i created the rescue cd using windows, and then cloned the hard drive also using windows 7.
but then i noticed the backup program, and decided to click on "set up backup"; nothing happens.
if i try the same from a disk drive/properties (ie click on backup there) nothing happens either.
any ideas? maybe something i installed broke this, but it seems like a pretty basic function to break like this.

Aug 8, 2012Basically, I bought a new USB stick and plugged it in. My computer would search for windows updates, but it would never find the ones required, and the USB wouldn't install. When I unplug the USB and plug it back in again, the computer doesn't even recognize it, and nothing happens. Currently, my computer is not updated, so that's one thing I won't try. I've installed windows 7 updates numerous times in the past, and every time I did, my computer would have problems starting up (i.e. my desktop would be a black screen when it starts and I can't do anything, or the place where I enter my password to log in doesn't load at all).

Feb 24, 2012I'm unable to play games requiring DirectX 11, even though I've downloaded it perhaps half a dozen times. Having stumped myself I decided I may as well ask here. The only feedback I've received from things not working is Civilization V says "Requires Service Pack 2 or greater" As far as I know DirectX doesn't update in the Service pack format, and that Windows 7 SP2 doesn't exist yet, and shouldn't be needed for a game of early 2010 as-is. I have an ASUS U56E, with the on-board i5 graphics(I thought it might be that, but my brother's i3 runs said DirectX fine, so maybe mine is damaged) and I, quite frankly, do not want to run it back into Best Buy and hope that it's covered by warranty.
