I'm having a problem with my laptop (ASUS G53JW). The problem is whenever I plug in an input device, it always installs instead of just being readily available for use. For example, when I plugged in my mouse for the first time, it installed, then when I unplug it and then later on plug it in again, it installs itself again. It not only happens to my mouse, but also to other input devices just to be clear.
View 8 RepliesMy laptop (Dell Inspiron 17R N7710) isn't recognizing usb 3.0 devices. I've tried an ADATA S102 Pro flash drive and a Seagate external harddrive (don't know specifics, it was my friends), and have tested it on his laptop too, so it's not a product deficiency. I've attempted updating drivers but that hasn't worked. With the initial update of the Renesas driver, it recognized my device for less than a minute, and then disappeared. The device does work on my 2.0 slot.

I am having trouble installing Windows 7 on a new build that does not have a DVD/CD drive installed. I am using a USB flash drive for the installation. Everything goes well until Windows installation asks me for a DVD/CD driver. I don't have a DVD/CD. Do I need an optical drive in order to install Windows 7?

After reading like hell on google and trying everything, i eventualy kinda gave up.When I went to install my chipset drivers, any type of driver, (i figured i needed to reinstall the motherboard drivers). I have two local area connections, 1 and 2, and 1 is what I want it to be while 2 is a default Microsoft IP.I put that image onto another system and after loading it I don't have Local Area Connections 1 and 2 anymore but Local Area Connections 3 and 4. When I first boot, the computer says Device Drivers Successfully Installed.Why am I losing Local Area Connections 1 and 2 and thus creating 3 and 4 which both have default Microsoft IPs? I can play dvd'd, cd's, iTunes, etc and the sound plays through my speakers without a problem. I want to record some sounds from a dvd but i cant get anything to record. Recording device is set to Wave EMU DSP as the default device. Im using Audacity to record and have set the recording preference device to be Wave (E-MU _-DSP). When I hit record I get an error 'Error while opening sound device. Oh and is it appropriate for me to use this topic to ask another question regarding explorer.exe as while i am inside a folder i delete (by choosing delete from the context menu in the tree view) while inside that folder on this particular laptop PC explorer. always crashes, collect information, sends it and restarts explorer. I have not experienced this problem on any other pc running any version of windows 7, oh and the same happened with build 7264 x32 and the current install of build 7600 x64.
Have recently purchased a small usb inspection snake camera with led light and when testing it plugged it into two desktops computers (one xp pro not sure of the other as it was a network work computer) It automatically loaded the drivers and brought up a screen automatically with the realtime image.(no driver disc came with it). However plugging into my windows 7 64bit sony laptop it signals a connection beep, loaded drivers automatically but wouldn't open or show up on my computer disc manager as an external usb source to click on. It does however show up on device manager as a usb camera and when I unplug and replug in it disappears and reappears so I know I have the right camera (not the lap top webcam inbuilt one that shows USB 2 Camera). Have tried updating drivers automatically and uninstalling it etc. Need it to work on the lap top so it can act as the movable screen for it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy audio was working well, but i decided to start recording find a way to improve my outbound audio quality (i'm an audiophile). I purchased a Fast Track Pro. Unlike other threads I've read, I'm not seeing any BSOD and its not crackling. My operating system will just stop functioning, or freeze for a half a second at a time. This can become frequent at about 10 times in a thirty second period requiring a restart. I had installed the latest x64 driver for my W7 x64 system from M-audio's website.
I uninstalled the driver and restarted, the issue persisted. I then installed the on-board audio driver and restarted, no system lag is present. The audio device-driver is acting up and I'm not sure why. Because i bought it used M-audio's support is a no-go. Are there any additional steps I can take which may troubleshoot this issue?
