View 1 RepliesI just want to be able to increase the speed of my fans beyond their spec, and have complete manual control over their RPMs without a care about the temps. I have a liquid cooling setup and the fans on my radiator as they are right now simply aren't cutting it. I have them hooked up to the motherboard in hopes of finding something to just boost their speed via software, but SpeedFan is the only thing I could find and it simply sucks for that purpose.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my OS from WIN 7 Home 64-bit, to WIN 7 Prof 64-bit and my browsing speed decreased dramatically. I primarily used Chrome before, but browsing is practically impossible on it now. So now I use Firefox 4 since its been decent with me. I have no clue what went wrong since the upgrade was successful. My router is fine, but browsing speed is just super slow. It wasn't like this before I upgraded. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having a very frustrating issue with Windows Media Player 12 and its plugin to Windows Media Center. Neither of these programs will play DVDs. What will happen generally is after a fresh boot, they will play the DVD for a few seconds and then stop. WMP simply reverts to the blue options screen and Media Center will display a message about files not being installed correctly. When I insert a DVD into the drive WMP/WMC will always recognize it, but whether or not it will play the disc is unpredictable at best.I have eliminated other possibilities, such as it being the sensitivity of the drive (tried a USB DVD drive) or the DVDs being too worn (tried a stand-alone DVD player). The only pattern I have noticed is that the DVDs that won't work as well tend to be a bit older in production age.This has happened to me several times now (I've owned this computer a year.) Previously I was able to use a system restore to back things up a few days and it seemed to work. I've tried that repeatedly this time but no luck.
I know everyone's first instinct is to say "CODECS!" but that's not the case. The DVDs play fine in other programs such as WMP Classic and SuperDVD, but I don't like either of these programs as Classic's quality is crummy and Super is annoyingly buggy and can't really handle Windows 7. I've installed the freeware Windows 64-bit codec pack. When I installed it it did give me a message about several files being "empty" or something.I've also tried another solution suggested on a Microsoft forum for turning off WMP/WMC from the control panel, restarting, then turning them back on. I only get halfway through this solution because on the restart, Windows tells me that the changes failed and reverts. (Tried this on my default account and on an Admin account created just for that purpose, as the post suggested.) Really have no idea what that problem is about. I'd try to repair/install through the Control Panel but WMP/WMC doesn't even show up on the programs list.
The only thing I'm thinking might be the culprit at this point is DirectX. For some reason when I installed Realplayer the DirectX installation failed, but it did not tell me why. I'm definitely nothing close to an expert on programs so someone else will have to rule that out as the cause. I also have PCTools Spyware Doctor and Registry Mechanic but I don't think they are the problem either.

When I am playing music in the media player, at first the sound is fine, but after awhile it begins to become choppy. And sometimes when streaming on the internet, the same thing happens but right away. It is not the speakers because the sound will start then stop, over and over. It is not the internet because this happens in media player which does not require the internet to run. I've updated and troubleshooted and nothing seems to help. I have an HP DV 9000, 64 bit, Windows 7 operating system.

My control panel showed me a wide range of resolutions that allowed me to view my entire screen and use the monitor without any problem.oday, I turned the computer back on, and upon switching over to the monitor, my control panel only shows the recommended resolution, which is nowhere near high enough for the monitor. Everything is huge and I can't see most of the screen.I've already tried the following:-Restarting both monitor and computer-Unplugging and plugging back in the VGA cable-Looked at the "show all modes" under advanced options in the display settings. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a samsung npqx411w01 with i5 and 6gb, It also has NvidiaGeforce graphics with 1gb dedicated as I enjoy playing BF3. I have had this computer for about 6 months now, and its been great, but over time, despite antivirus/malware/disk cleanups. It just seems to be getting slower. I am at the point now where the audio sounds cracky, and even stutters, I cant play any games since there is a significant lag, as well as with streaming of any kind and Although I thought it may only be with the wifi, it is still limited with an Ethernet cable(the internet may be a separate problem). There was an incident nearly a month ago in which my system completely shut out. I couldn't open windows without safe mode or else I would get a windows error a few seconds after logging in. I was able to restore, but I feel things haven't been the same.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI discovered that besides VLC player on my laptop all the other video player are not able to work properly (meaning,, Windows Media Player 12, Cyberlink PowerDVD12 and WMPC are able to play only the audio, but not the video, it's just just black screen),, BUT with VLC is no problem playing any video format!! The thing is that I didn't have this problem previously,, all my video players were able to play all the same video files, which they can't now! I have the latest AMD Radeon HD video drivers installed. As I mentioned I didn't have this problem before,, with a previous versions of the AMD graphics card driver. This happened to my laptop a while ago already,, since I have this problem I updated my video drivers 5 or 6 times at least, and no change so far!Why am I assuming that the cause of my problem is the graphics card driver is, for ex. when I had just re- installed my windows (fresh! from Windows 7 to Windows 8),, the video playback was working, while the graphic card was running on the drivers provided by Microsoft! as soon as I am installing the driver for my model of AMD Radeon graphic card I am staring to have the problem.As I mentioned I have the problem for some time already, during this time I re-installed my Windows couple of time, plus I even changed the version of the windows (7to8), for the moment I have the last version of video driver installed, I haven't installed ANY codecs?

View 3 Replies View RelatedHey people, I am having some trouble with MSI Afterburner and its fan speed control function. I have a custom curve setup and I have it where it synchronizes both GPUs in settings and it works great when I first boot and play a game for a while but then when I let it sit and go on the internet for 10 mins or so or put comp to sleep then come back, the custom curve only applies to the main GPU, and nothing that you do in Afterburner will change the second fan speed. I tried restarting the program, putting it on manual control, changing the curve and re applying it, but nothing seems to work on the second GPU fan speed until I reboot the whole computer again.

How can I test the battery of my Toshiba NB505? The battery charges on hookup for 4-10 seconds then stops. I lost the charger cord & ordered another. This 2nd cord has worked fine for about a year. Thought it might be the plug socket but then everything started working fine after we took the battery out & bottom off the netbook & put it back together. Worked fine for several weeks, then suddenly stopped again.

I have adjusted, updated, disabled and enabled the drivers, but i still do not get any sound when playing back recordings or skype test calls i make. the system lets me make the recording, and skype seems to detect the microphone, but nothing plays back.the speakers work without problem.when i try to set up the microphone, the prompt does not identify it. i have tried to connect a microphone as well, but either way, i would like to mostly rely on the built-in mic anyway.also, the microphone does not show up on the volume mixer.

The picture is fine but there's no sound. When I go into Sound in the Control Panel, there is no HDMI option to choose in order to send the output to the TV speakers (only "Speakers" and "S/Digital Audio S/PDIF) . I've tried downloading various Graphics Media Accelerator Drivers from the ACER, INTEL and REALTEK sites but they all say that they are not validated for my computer.

I have a Belkin Bluetooth adapter F8T016 and used to stream music to a bluetooth speaker.
Since installing Windows 7 I cannot stream the music. Initially my Broadcom driver would not connect to the speaker. I therefore installed the Anycom Bluetooth USB2 Vista driver as suggested in this thread:

Now my laptop and speaker connect properly (I can see it is connected in the bluetooth property settings and physically through the 'connected' LED on the speaker.
My problem now is that the device will not playback sound. When I try to perform the 'test' in the audio device properties I get the message "Error: Cannot perform test sound".
- graphic drivers (not in my case, U can always check if it helps in yours)
- high performance power profile (from this forum's tutorials: Power Plan - Select | Power Plan Settings - Change)
- installing different codecs/vid player
- PCI-E x1 bug <- a real pain in the ass, caused most of the problems; I’ll explain how to solve it in a minute
- Comodo Firewall/Internet Security for x64 systems (for some users disabling the Image Execution and unticking Detect Shellcode injections worked) - still a not resolved bug LINK 1 LINK2
- interrupt conflict with other hardware (try to disable in BIOS setup your WiFi adapter / COM port – this helped a couple of people)
Skipping and shuttering sound on all my sources (Audigy (with kx v.3550 drivers) and AD SoundMax integrated with MB) was also caused by the PCI-E bug, which was a real surprise for me, especially in the case of Audigy which is an old PCI card.

The subwoofer i've got in there makes this bathroom bounce! haha Okay, so i've got music running into the receiver from my laptop, which is located in my bedroom (used a long piece of RCA cable). I like to create music playlists on my computer, but there's no way for me to press the forward or backward button in the media player from my bathroom. This DVD player is an external player and I have no problem with playback on my Dual boot with Vista Home Premium.

This Adobe Flash Player User Account Control popup has become extremely annoying, and I cannot seem to overcome it.
I allowed the computer initially to install Adobe Flash Player. It now regularly displays the User Account Control window popup asking: "Allow changes to yout computer? Adobe Flash Player Installer".
I have 'allowed it', and it still goes on. I have 'denied it' and it still goes on. I have uninstalled Flash Player and the same things happen.
Is this Bloody thing a CURSE, or is the remedy at my finger tips? I cannot open the snip tool to capture the User Account Control popup as snip will not open when popup is dispalyed.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have only just noticed this issue when trying to open Sibelius 6 (music notation software) or Sonar X1. They both hang on starting and I have also noticed that in Control Panel, the Sound tab itself is unresponsive and won't open the next menu level. The same with 'manage audio devices' in the sub menu underneath it. I have a Focusrite Saffire 6 USB interface, which plays back audio fine. I have tried reinstalling the drivers for the Saffire to no avail, but this seems more like a Windows problem. Has anyone got any clues, as my work relies on me creating music and I just can't see another solution except reinstalling Windows, which would be a pain given the amount of stuff I have installed already
