the reason for power leaking through body/USB/Fireware port of my PC& pl also tell the procedure to correct the difficulties.Will this leakge can damage my fireware sound card? Is it the reason for which fire ware solo sound card suddenly stops working? After shut down of PC only its work.

Well I just got a brand new medion computer (4GB ram, 1GB nvidia graphics card, dual core i5 3.0Ghz processor, etc) about 3-4 weeks ago and have had no problems till now. The problem is when i bought the computer i got a mouse and keyboard which worked with it till about 2 days ago. I have 3 USB 2.0 and 3 USB 3.0 slots and. 2 of each type are on the back and the remaining 1 of each are on the front. Now, anytime i plug both the mouse and the keyboard into the back i get a warning message at the bottom right saying "USB hub port power surge" or something along those lines and neither device works. But if i un-plug them both and plug back in the keyboard, the keyboard works. I have tried restarting my computer. I have even tried turning the computer off, un-plugging it from the wall. Than holding the power button so it quickly flashes on and than off again (I hear this resets usb ports Link: Reset of USB port after probable power surge ) I than plug the computer back in and start it up but still neither devices work unless i unplug the mouse. I have also tried plugging in memory sticks and other devices and they work until i plug the mouse in beside them. Every now and than they un-expectedly decide to work together and than stop as randomly as it began.

I have an old prebuilt that I picked up for nothing that I run as a tester for various things. It has an Intel quad core Q9650 @3.0GHz 4GB G-Skill DDR2 RAM @ 800MHz an Intel D43NB (LGA 775) board (chipset G45/43) Rev 3 running 7 64bit from a Crucial M4 120GB SSD. Now this machine has always been a bit slow from power on to Windows actually starting up (flag forming) then it goes quickly to login. The BIOS is set to boot from the SSD. Now I have tried all the tweaks in the optimise tut including that one that shortens the Menu show delay time. I have also kept the start up items to a minimum and stopped service that I don't or very rarely use.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am a Developer/Tester and have just begun setting up my new laptop (its a high-spec gaming laptop).I am paranoid about viruses and worried about my machine getting to cluttered with unused software, so I was planning on setting up/using my PC as follows:
-One 'Admin' account This will pretty much be untouched.
-One 'Standard' User account this will be my main account that I log in to everyday
-Virtual Machines
*I will install Virtual Box on the Standard User Account.
*I will use a VM for random surfing, I would like to do this from a VM to reduce the risk of being affected from a virus.
This VM will probably be a linux flavour (e.g ubuntu).
*I wil have a seperate VM that I use just for online banking and checking email - also probably be a linux flavour.
*I will have different Virtual machines for different projects Im working on, because I like to keep my environments seperate. I can also install and play with new software and then revert back to a snapshot when I'm done. These will be mainly Windows VMs.This is my first high-spec machine where I can comfortable run several VMs.

I use my PC for audio production and I have a few external controller devices that are USB powered, for example a midi keyboard. I recently had to build PC due to a theft....long story short after building the new PC I've noticed that my USB buses have continual power to these external devices after I've powered down the PC. My old windows 7 PC did not do this. Is there a setting I can change to shut off power to the USB buses when I power off the PC? Or is this a hardware issue?

I made another toolbar, and placed it directly adjacent to the Programs toolbar, to obscure the eight folders and force it to be a dropdown menu.Trouble is, as soon as I lock my taskbar, right next to the arrow that displays the eight items of my Programs toolbar in menu-form, one of the eight items is showing up as an icon, as if the other toolbar isn't close enough to the Programs toolbar in order to completely obscure the eight items.

(I had 8 of them 3 days ago.)I assume I have a hardware problem, but nothing has been found and I'm grasping at straws.The time between power off and power on is several seconds.I had assumed this rules out a software cause, but maybe I'm wrong. I know Windows can schedule a power off, but can it tell BIOS (or something) to power back on in a few seconds?I know blaming the power supply is a much more simple explanation, but then I'm left with explaining the intermittent nature of the failure.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy computer wouldn't shut down, even with holding in the power button, and so I just let it run out the battery. Then it wont turn on. I tried holding down the power button to clear out any charge that might be remaining. I have managed to get it back on, but I have to make a connection at the clip where you plug the power button ribbon into the mobo. Also, this is the second time I have had to do this. The computer works fine afterwards...or seems to anyway.

View 0 Replies View Relatedok well i spent about 3 hrs and i know its not my router and its the os and i did a fresh install too im on 7600 rtm, now i got windows firewall and defender disabled, i got nod32 antivirus not with a firewall just the anti, now i got utorrent, so i use utorrents port checker, the port works for it but if i add a port to my portforwarding on my router it dont work, according to this port scanner, now if i enter it and use it as my port in utorrent it works! but anything else doesnt i dont get it i got windows firewall disabled and all that i literally think theres a hidden firewall or a virus but i know there isnt a virus i also did a scan incase so any ideas?

Plugged HDMI cable in back of laptop straight in to t.v, changed the source and straight away i had a lovely sharpe picture of my deskop instantly.... or so i thought
im getting the middle part of my screen fine - but it is cropped so i cant see the tool bar (its too low) and the desktop icons are only veiwable if i move them closer in screen! Ideally i want to have identical screens on both so i can use both at sam time, but currently i can only view either or atm? and the t.v one being crop means i can use it as a computer (No toolbar etc..)

I have some crazy problem with port 80 . Everything was fine since last 5-6 days. When i try to connect to some pages i get this note on picture.
i tried every posible browser and same thing ! also tried disabling firewall and nothing ...problem is still here! this is only one of many pages that i cant load.
To all the computer geniuses out there, I guess this isn't a windows 7 problem but it's about drivers.I have an Asus K53E-B1 with Windows 7 64bit. It comes with 3 USB 2.0 ports and that's it. I went on the Asus website today and found USB 3.0 drivers update.I can't just download those drivers and use them and expect USB 3.0 performance when I have USB 2.0 ports right?

I have a quick question about the USB ports on my computer. I have a screenshot hosted here on Flikr: USB | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Of the 5 USB's that are listed, one is a USB2. Is the USB2 Enhanced Host Controller a USB2.0 port? I am looking because I am going to buy an audio interface and if I have a 2.0 in there then I will get something a little better 'cos I want as little latency as possible when recording vocals.
There is one other thing also, if it turns out that there is a 2.0 port, is there a way to physically differentiate which port is the 2.0? I have 3 USB's on the back and 2 on the front of my tower. At the moment I don't know which is which and do not know what to physically look for when I look in or out of the case.
I have an application to control external devices via IRDA.The application only accepts IRDA connected via a serial port.I only have a USB-IRDA device.
Is there any freeware driver/software to create a virtual serial port and link it with the USB device?
