I've recently bought a SoundForce 5.1 (Trust) surround speakers set with a SC-5500P 5.1 External Sound Card. At first I didn't have the sound card so I could only insert 1 Jack 3.5mm and only 2 speakers would work at the same time. Now however with the sound card I expected them all to work together, but there's only sound coming out of 2 of them (the other emit a very low 'pshhhhhh').I've tried to configure the setting of my sound into 5.1 surround, but the test sounds only come out of two of the speakers.Do 5.1 sources play in 5.1? If so that rules out it being a 5.1 problem, and makes it that you need some kind of surround sound upmix to be done. I have no idea if there is anything like that for the audio on the Nvidia cards that have a sound card built into them. What you need to look for is some kind of speaker fill option (called Speaker Fill on Realtek, CMSS3d on Creative), or something like Dolby Digital Live (needs to be supported by the card and/or drivers, and can't be just installed as far as I know). I've found this in another thread, and tried a 5.1 wav sample. However it still only comes out of 2 speakers.
My computer was blue screening. I had a warranty RMA through my manufacturer and I just got it back, fixed. However since then, my Logitech X-530 5.1 surround speakers have been messed up. Initially I thought the front two were not working, but when I was testing I found the Left Rear works and the Right Rear sound comes through the Front Left speaker. The Subwoofer is fine, but the Right Front and Rear have no sound. To be more clear, when my realtek audio manager tests the front two speakers, there is zero sound. When it checks the LR it comes through the LR fine, but the RR comes through the LF speaker. I've unplugged, checked wires, made sure everything was plugged in correctly, and I reinstalled my realtek HD audio driver also.s.
I recently reinstalled Windows 7 and have since then not been able to use my speakers correctly since. It's important you know that they worked just fine a few days ago before I reinstalled. I did of course do a full format of the hard drive. When I'm configuring the speakers in Windows to 5.1, I'm not getting any feedback from the two rear speakers. My speakers are Logitech Z5500, motherboard Asus 880G Extreme3, sound card Creative SB X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro. Enabling X-Fi CMSS-3D doesn't do anything either but make the volume of the front speakers a bit lower to compensate for the supposed increased volume of the rear speakers. Which is non existent anyway.
I tried plugging the cables (I use analogue) into the on-board sound card's ports and had the same problem, which tells me it isn't a problem with the Creative sound card, but most likely something in Windows that I'm missing. Testing the speakers through the receiver works just fine. I have also tried removing the drivers I installed completely and reinstalled to see if it just was some installation error. I have also tried removing the on-board sound card drivers and disabling the on-board sound card in BIOS while trying to install the Creative drivers again. This shouldn't have worked anyway since I'm having the same problem with the two sound cards.
windows 7 won't recognize my surround sound speakers and when i try playing music the volume of my 2 rear speakers keeps changing (they get louder and softer uncontrollably.) according to windows all my drivers are up to date. when i go to the playback tab in the sound settings menu, my speakers aren't displayed in the list and when i try to configure the speakers it wont let me choose surround speakers. i tried changing the settings in realtek hd audio manager but still i couldn't select surround speakers. the problem is not my speakers because the surround sound works perfectly with my Xbox 360 and my PS3.my laptop is an acer aspire 5736z running windows 7 home premium 32 bitmy speakers are Logitech z506 5.1 surround sound speakers
only my front left and sub and main speaker work and if i put the cords in a different hole then only one will work and i got all of the in the right colour coded hole i have tride everything WHAT DO I DO!
Upgraded to 7 two days ago and cannot get anything out of them. Diagnostics tells me they are working and all drivers are up to date. I have tried designating them as default device and no sound comes out of the computer at all.
When I designate the internal speakers as default and then plug in the usb speakers, the internal speakers continue to work but nothing comes out of the usb speakers. Does anyone know if these are just incompatible with 7 or am I doing something wrong..
I just recently upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate and I found that I was having multiple problems with the sound. I have solved the problem with my speakers/headphones after upgrading drivers (et al.), but my microphone is not being recognized. When I go to the Speaker Icon in the system tray and right-click to bring up the dialog then go to recording devices, what I get is this: No audio devices are installed. The playback dialog shows the correct information: High definition audio device. Default device.
I have a creative realtek speaker system, one green cable plugged in the computer and back to a big speaker box. The two little R L speakers are also plugged in that big box. The creative sound level countrol is also plugged in that big black box a kind of very big speaker. Why does the sound not work?
my computer speakers connected to my computer are no longer working.they are turned on to full volumn but there is no sound.checked connection.it is ok but can't get sound.
my laptop's speakers and the headphone working at the same time.this problem i facing since i installed windows7.prevoiusly i used windowsXP but i didn't faced this kind of problem.
I'm having problem with my speakers. I recently had call on Skype, during the conversation I plugged in my headphones. After I finished that call, I unplugged headphones and notices that my notebook speakers are muted. Windows shows that it's not muted, devices are enabled and so on. Everything seems to be right, except the silence. Funny thing is, if I open skype options and go to sounds, and try to replay some of the sounds there, it works ... PLUS it also plays music I have turned on in background, as soon as skype sounds ends -> silence again. I've tried to reinstall windows meanstime, didn't work. I was kind of shocked, since if it were HW problem, there would be no skype sounds at all ... if it's a SW problem, fresh Win should have got things on the right place .
In my HP-Pavilion dv5000 (dv5201) it has Altec Lansing speakers, and I can't find any drivers. I had to clean install 7 because my sister isn't smart, and installed Mandriva over XP. I don't even know it's model, because Windows 7 doesn't recognise it. I installed all but the language updates, still nothing. I know there isn't any 7 drivers, but I can't even find the Vista ones. I'm on my Cell, so I can't download and try every driver out there.
I have just done a fresh install from vista to Windows 7 7100. All drivers are installed and working fine but I dont seem to be getting any sound out of my internal laptop speakers.
I plugged in headphones and they work fine, i never had a problem in Vista. I have install the latest Realtek 223 codecs and still no joy, I'm in the middle of trying some older versions but does anyone else have any ideas?
All the drivers are working and windows is detecting everything just fine, I can even look under the volume adjustments and see the sound being produced. But I am getting no output to my speakers! I've read through a lot of forums and tried both xp and vista drivers along with the recommended 7 drivers, all work but I am getting no output through my integrated speakers.
I am running a Toshiba u205-5002 with a ACPI x86 motherboard and soundmax it just not working for me. I am at a loss of what to do. I don't get any program sounds whatsoever, no startup, nothing. All device managers say the devices are working properly and it detects the speakers just fine. I am also not getting any output to my headphone jack either. I am using the 32 bit 7000 build...
I have an Hp625 running Windows 7 Basic 32 bit - I can play music through my laptops built in speakers without any problems, but when I plug headphones (or external computer speakers) into the headphone jack no sound comes through them (and simultaneously the laptop speakers go mute). My computer is dual boot with ubuntu, and this problem appeared when I upgraded my Ubuntu version - still, I know that the jack works as it is working fine in Ubuntu, and Im sure the problem is fixable within windows!
My computer is using the IDT audio control panel, and according to windows everything us up to date and fine.
It is now running on Win 7 sp1 (afaik) with all the latest updates installed. This is why it has not just been brought back to the shop where it was purchasedMy problem is that I cannot play audio through the laptops own speakers. When in a very quiet room you can hear faint crackling from the speakers when they are turned up fully. If you plug in headphones or hdmi, the either will work perfectly no problem with sound. I have the latest Realtek audio driver for my computer installed and I have spent the last week checking and re checking all of the sound settings. The computer says that the device is ''working properly'' when I troubleshoot it.
Since I installed Windows 7 on my Dell Precision M70 Laptop the Microphone does not seem to work? Speakers are ok since I downloaded a driver for windows Vista.
i am using Windows 7 ultimate. i am hearing very little or no sound via my PC speakers. however, i can hear sound via headphones.
checked all possible setting as per my knowledge. The point to note here is that sound is working perfectly OK in Ubuntu 11.10. so my speakers appear to be OK.
One day my sound was working fine, and then after spending a long day of sound editing (with headphones in) sound suddenly stopped working from the internal speakers. Sound works from my headphones when they are plugged in but not my speakers and drivers are working properly. Now, here is the odd thing... whenever I change the volume for the 'Independant Headphones' from the sound panel, the sound works fine from the speakers with no problem for about 2-3 seconds! The default is currently set to 'Speakers and Headphones'. I have tried unplugging and replugging headphones to make sure the jack switch is reset in both slots, still no luck!
I have a Dell XPS M1330 laptop and have recently upgraded to windows 7 professional (32bit) from windows vista. Everything seems to be running smoothly except I can get no sound from the internal laptop speakers. When I plug in external speakers in via the jacks on the front, sound comes through fine, but as soon as I unplug them there is nothing. Headphones also work like this too. Under sounds in device manager, it simply says 'High Definition Audio Device', and I'm not sure if I should be downloading some other drivers?
i recently brought sony32EX650 LED TV with Sony DVD player with home theater.and i want to watch HD movies on this TV with surround sound but we know dvd player don't play the Hd quality videos. But on TV's usb we can play those Hd videos and they have 5.1 surround sound also.and i can't get 5.1 through TV's USB. is there any possible to get 5.1 through TV's usb via home theater.
I have a Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme PCI-Ex, and Logitech Z-5500 5.1 THX speakers. All speakers work; all software, drivers and codecs are up-to-date. Recently I noticed that in the Speaker Setup screen, the test button only results in sound from the left and right front speakers.
I checked because after a VLC update, mkv files no longer played correctly in the 5.1 mode. Music played, but the voices were muted (while no speakers are muted, and all are connected). I have to select "2 front, 2 rear" Audio Device in order to hear the speech as well.
I have the same problem when playing movies in PowerDVD, where I have to select the 2-speakers setting in order to hear all the sound.
Note:
- Previously the test button did sound all 5 speakers
- The test button on the Logitech remote still sounds all 5 speakers
I installed SP1 for windows 7 this week and since then my sound is not working propely. Its only playing my front 2 speakers (Not rear 2 or centre on 5.1s) I have installed new drivers (Realtek) but nothing. If I run a sound test all speakers ding (on realtek or windows audio settings) Great but any application just pipes sound out to front 2 speakers. Is there another setting within windows ive missed?
So after installing win 7 ultimate x64, 5.1 surround stopped working and now i can only use my 2 front speakers + sub. In test all speakers don't work aswell.
But working I mean, I go to control panel then sound and for HDMI is only lets me select stereo.
After some research I figured maybe its because the HDMI goes to the TV and the TV itself only has two speakers.
Still there must be a way to do this.
I can't do HDMI to the surround receiver as its a bit old
But, its seems to be surround when playing movies through VLC...
But I tried this surround test.

and you could defintiely tell there was "audio coming from different corners". But, when the test announced which speaker the sound should be coming out, it wasn't always accurate.
