BSOD While Trying To Download Star Wars?
May 2, 2012I have been trying for 3 days now to download patches from star wars the old republic and my computer keeps on crashing before the download is complete i have also had this crash while playing battle field 3 but it only happens after a while of playing.Also my computer crashes when i am not there i will come home to the log in screen

After I installed the game, when I try to run it, I can see the republic commando start-up but then the game crashes. No error messages or anything. I can not even get to the menu. I have Windows 7 64-bit and my video card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670.

my crash files are 25.2 MB because there is alot, if suspicious do scan and things, i am pretty sure it is not video card or logitech drivers, only happens in games , never internet browsing , i've left my cpu on before for 2 days, and no bluescreen
BSOD Playing Guild Wars Error 0x000000D1?
Jan 6, 2012I recently started playing the game Guild Wars again on my Dell XPS 15 Laptop. I played for a little while and then all of a sudden I got the BSOD. I tried to play again and after about an hour the same thing happened. Now anytime I open Guild Wars I get the BSOD.The main line up at the top of the BSOD was DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.As for my computer/computer history I am on a Dell XPS 15 with an i7-2620M @ 2.7 GHz cpu. I run dual monitors, my laptop monitor and my television that is connected to my laptop by an HDMI cable. My graphics cards are NVIDIA GeForce 540M and the intel graphics card that came with the computer. I can play any game ranging from League of Legends, Call of Duty. Black-Ops, Minecraft, World of Warcraft, Starcraft II,Counterstrike:Source,Team Fortress 2 and so on and not have any problems. It only occurs with Guild Wars. I think it may have to be because Guild Wars is an older game and it may have problems with Windows 7 64-Bit, but I wanted to see if there was something else wrong.All of my drivers are up to date and Guild Wars is ran through the Steam platform and I verified the games cache through Steam.

Jan 4, 2010if I open a folder and r/click any file (to send it to another disk), I get a message saying that Explorer has stopped working and then it is restarting. This happens every time I try this. It restarts OK every time but never tells me why it crashed.When I go to do a System restore, it cannot complete the restore as it says a file cannot be accessed and that maybe an Anti-virus is running. I have disabled A/V and Firewall, both in Norton Internet Security which I only installed yesterday. All was working OK until later today, when I noticed that Windows 7 had installed 3 critical updates and I'm thinking that one or both are the cause?These were KB973924 x 2 and KB972696.

My browsers also stop responding and crashes (usually with java or flashplayer) I have updated all java`s and flashplayers btw.I monitored my pc using afterburner (did no clocking whats so ever, was at default) and all temparatures where normal - at 30C on idle and around 50-60C while gaming.

Jun 1, 2010So I want to play Star Trek Armada 2, which came out around 2001. I have a new desktop running 64-bit windows 7. I installed the game just fine, but when I attempt to play it, it gives me an error to make sure there's at least 50 MB free on the hard drive (there is) and that virtual memory is enabled (again, did some checking and i believe it is). Is there such a thing as a future compatibility issue? As in, is my new computer too new for my game? If the system requirements are met shouldn't it play no matter how awesome the computer is?

Jun 7, 2012I recently purchased the Dell XPS 14z and it has been working fine, however when I take it out to work (where there's no wifi connections) a red 'x' now appears on the wifi icon in the task tray. Usually it just shows an orange star and is essentially 'pending' connections. When I try and use my BlackBerry Bold 9900 to connect using the mobile internet it says that it can't connect as the wifi radio may be off? Jul 23, 2012Laptop is connected to wifi but still shows yellow star and grey bars? Title says it all. I've reinstall the drivers, changed the settings in the registry editor that someone on another forum suggested, delete all the wifi accounts and rebooted the computer. No errors in device manager, the Windows wifi connection software is the only one running. Internet is working but it wont allow me to setup a vpn. I've rebooted everything.
I just noticed that no matter what wireless network I connect to it still does this. Also, I connected to a wireless network that this laptop never connects to and it never asks what kind of network it is. It just sets it as a public network. My other laptop connects to both fine.

Oct 26, 2011When I save files from programs (aka Word, Photoshop, anything)onto my Desktop, I cannot see them directly from the actual desktop. I can only see them when I open up Explorer, and click on the Desktop tab. Then all my files are visible. I thought they were hidden...but they apparently aren't.It possibly seems like a refresh error.I did find a way around this..I go to Control Panel >> Appearance and Personalization >> Under Folder Options >> Show Hidden Files and Folders. I click on Reset folders, Apply, and then OK, and my missing files pop up on my actual desktop.But from then on, any new files I save are only visible in Explorer again. I don't want to go to Control Panel everytime I have to save something to the desktop? I've run Norton and Microsoft Essentials and I have no viruses. What can I do?I just found out I can also see my files after pressing f5 (refresh)so I guess the problem is HOW do I get my computer to refresh the desktop automatically?

May 25, 2012I have a really annoying problem with desktop icons.I use 2 monitors. 1920x1200 is the main dislay and 1600x1200 is another one for extended desktop. The thing is that I don't need it all the time so I'd like to switch the extended desktop on and off when I need it. Problem is that entering the ex. desktop just somehow changes the grid (it seems that the grid becomes more compressed in vertical direction). That means that it always messes my icons up. I don't know why do the Windows change the grid when I do not change the resolution or just anything that could possibly affect the main screen.
