Sony Vaio Card Reader Problem
I have just upgraded to window 7 (64-bit) from Vista (32-bit) and now my sd/memory stick pro reader/writer will not work!!! Sony website does not support windows 7 drivers with my model laptop(sony vaio vgn-nr220e). The reader/writer is a Texas Instruments™ PCIxx12 Integrated FlashMedia Controller. CAN ANYONE HELP ME FIX THIS?

Sony Vaio VGC Memory Card Reader Problem
I have a Sony Vaio VGC-LT25E and upgraded to Windows 7 64bit. I am having some major problems trying to get my memory card reader and camera to work. I have tried to install them on compatibility mode but they don't work. I have even tried other windows 7 drivers from Sony for newer computers to see if they work, but no results. Can someone give me a hand, I am running out of ideas!

Sony Vaio Driver For Motion Eye Camera And SD Reader
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ31Z. I installed Windows RC without thinking about that I will loose my Vista Version. As I have no CD. Even when I have the Product Key. So actually I am happy with Windows 7 but I cant re-install the drivers for my SD Card Reader and Motion Eye Webcam. When I try to install it then it tells me that there ist no Vista on my PC. Whats true. But I thought its compatible. How can I install them? What else can I do? Is there a possibility to get my Vista back? Without a CD? I have the Product Key on the Back of the Laptop.

Sony Vaio VGN-FZ31S SD Card Problem
I recently installed Windows 7 on my VGN-FZ31S Sony Vaio notebook, I have had to manually download all the drivers from here however, I have downloaded the 'Memory card reader writer driver' when I find it in my downloads, the application doesn't download, I click it and it just loads and then nothing happens. I have been in to my device manager and there is nothing about SD cards or magicgate in the list! I'm going crazy trying to get my memory card to work but I can't as the driver won't work!

SigmaTel Sound Card Issue, Sony VAIO SZ430N
I've installed Windows 7 32-bit build 7100 on my Sony VAIO SZ-430N and despite all the drivers installed correctly (first there was "High Definition Audio Device") I've got "No Audio Output is Installed" message. After installing latest Sigmatel drivers for Vista its still the same, in Device manager there's a SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC with yellow "!" and "This device cannot start (Code 10)". Must say I tried to install them in Vista compatibility mode. I saw there were hotfixes for Vista ans XP that fix this issue after upgrading to SP2. But nothing for Win7.

Widescreen On Sony Vaio
I upgraded a 15" widescreen Sony Vaio (about 4 years old) to Windows 7 (it had been running the RC and Vista before that) All seems to work fine with one exception. My screen image comes up as a "square" with black bars on the sides, it does not fill the screen. I have gone to screen resolution where my choice is only 800x600 or 1020x768. I have no other options there. I have read websites, gone through help and everyone that has this type of problem has a different solution, none of which I can implement because a choice is not there or it does not work. I have upgraded the graphics driver (said an upgrade was not needed so I went to the Nvidia site and they said the same thing.

Sony Vaio Nvidia Drivers
How I installed the latest Nvidia M 186.81 notebook driver to my Sony Vaio VGN-AR51E laptop. Sony is supposed to supply the drivers but they don't for some reason. The latest laptop drivers from Nvidia work if you alter two lines of information in the appropriate inf file before executing. I downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia (186.81) and ran it so it unpacked into a folder in my C drive. [Message box says it won't install]. From Control panel I got my driver hardware ID Control panel / Device manager / Display adapters / Properties / Details / Device description/ PCIVEN_10DE&DEV_0426&SUBSYS_9016104D&REV_A1 PCIVEN_10DE&DEV_0426&SUBSYS_9016104D PCIVEN_10DE&DEV_0426&CC_030000 PCIVEN_10DE&DEV_0426&CC_0300 (You just need the second line here) Then I opened up the Nvidia driver package and altered NVDM.inf file, in the Display folder, by adding two lines to include my hardware ID (as you scroll down the inf file and study, you will see where these go, in two different list sections) %NVIDIA_DEV.0426.01% = Section005, PCIVEN_10DE&DEV_0426&SUBSYS_9016104D NVIDIA_DEV.0426.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT (Sony Vaio AR51E)" I included my ID also in ListDevices.txt in the NVDM.inf section and in modes.txt (but may be superfluous - I am no expert!) Also I put the two lines in the NVAM.inf (but may be superfluous) Don't forget to save all. I deleted the old Nvidia driver rebooted and ran setup on the new Nvidia driver! It worked!! Hope this helps you. PYL

Sony Vaio PCG TRA3
Installed Beta 7000 on a Sony Viao PCG TRA3 (1 GHz Pentium Centrino and 1 GB RAM) Installed fine but when checking components flagged that there was a problem with the Intel wireless network card. System loaded OK and was actually reasonably fast. I tried to install the Sony driver for the Intel 82852 / 82855 graphics driver. Seemed to install OK but required a reboot. I didn't reboot but tried to install the original Sony 2200BG wireless connection driver. When installing it Blue screened and began to dump registers. I rebooted to safe mode. The system went through the install of the Graphics drivers again automatically, this time with success. I then booted back normally. The graphics driver started to automatically install again but failed. I tried the original 2200BG driver and it installed without the blue screen. However when I checked device manager I saw an exclamation mark against it's listing. The error said it wasn't working correctly because the driver couldn't be installed. I then tried to install a Netgear USB wireless adapter WG111 but it failed saying it needed XP. Pity there isn't a compatability mode. Booting back into safe mode, device manager shows that both the graphics driver and wireless network driver installed with noy exclaimation mark. I don't know if that means they installed correctly or not. I booted normally again and this time it automatically installed the graphics driver and said it was successful and required a reboot. Unfortunately on reboot the installation failed. Oh well good try. Just like Vista, there will be a shedload of devices which won't work and I suppose it is to be expected. Overall Windows 7 looks and feels pretty good, but I can't help feeling that it is just XP with a nice interface. For me that's a good thing as I think XP is the best Windows to date. I'll keep 7 installed and just connect through my home LAN. That works fine. Maybe later Betas will be a bit more friendly to the wee Sony .

Did A Fresh Install Of 7 On My Sony Vaio - Drivers?
After doing a fresh install of Windows 7 Enterprise on my Sony Vaio things are going well. I visited the Sony Vaio esupport site and it has recommended all sorts of drivers for my particular laptop. 2 questions... 1. What is the equivalent of Windows 7 Enterprise for driver purposes? 7 Ultimate or 7 Professional? 2. Do I really need the Vaio drivers if nothing appears to be wrong?

Sony VAIO Vgn-sz430n Drivers
I have a sony vaio vgn-sz430n running Windows Vista Business. I upgraded to Windows 7 and it went off without a hitch until the first log in. The desktop will not fill the screen and it only gives me two options for resolutions: ~1024x768 and 800x600. I went to device manager and found that my display driver is now standard vga driver. The laptop has an nvidia geforce go 7400 graphics card and, from what I've read, it also shares memory with onboard integrated graphics...I think. I read other threads suggesting methods to fix this problem but none of them have worked. I tried downloading the windows 7/vista driver for that nvidia graphics card from nvidia but the setup program says no compatible hardware found. I tried pointing Windows 7's driver installation (from device manager) to the driver's location in the setup folder but it tells me the most current driver is already installed and no update is needed. I even tried modding the driver (as suggested on another thread) but that didn't work.

Sony Vaio VGN-FW11E Touchpad
I installed Windows 7 (64-Bit) on my Sony Vaio laptop (VGN-FW11E) yesterday coming from Vista (32-Bit). Everything is running ok but i have one problem. On Vista i used to scroll up and down using my touchpad however on Windows 7, that function seems to have disabled. On Vista there also was a touchpad setting where i could set my touchpad functions, but which i can no longer find on Windows 7. When i installed Windows 7, i understand that i cannot carry over all the sony vaio programs onto Windows 7 (because my laptop is too old apparently) but is there anyway to adjust my touchpad setting? I have always used the touchpad scroll function and it is kind of annoying not having it.
