*Will you be able to upload folders to Skydrive? I want to create a PHOTOS folder in Skydrive, then upload my 160 individual photo folders to it.
*What is Windows Live Mesh?
*I'd like to make it so any photos or docs I add to my hard drive, automastically go to Skydrive. Is that part of the functionality?what is: SkyDrive Wave 5 M3 (version 16.3)?
This probably isn't an error, but a problem all the same. I've synced my documents to SkyDrive using Windows Live Mesh without a problem. However, to access these files with a web browser I have to go to 'devices', not the more prominent 'SkyDrive' tab in Hotmail. Why is this? Why are there two different SkyDrives and is there any way to get them in the same place?
Just read on Lifehacker MS internal blog report that Windows Live will be put to pasture. Anyone know if it's just the brand or the brand and ALL associated parts including great ones such as Live Mesh?
I used dropbox, but from they privacy policy changes I switch to Live Mesh.I install it, configure folder to sync and I have problem with high cpu usage during sending/downloading (syncing) files:Is it normal? In Dropbox cpu time after few hours was smaller than 00:10:00, in Live Mesh I have more than 3x of it in only 10-15 minutes.
Simple question: If I want to use Live Mesh to connect to a friend's computer when he's having issues, I have to give him my LiveID login and password to do it?Not really inclined to give away my login credentials to anyone.
I have recently upgraded windows live mail to the 2011 version. Sending a simple photo email is a mission now. I dont want skydrive and all that added rubbish. How do I downgrade?
Now, I understand that once you install the Skydrive PC program, you get a folder on the desktop. Whatever is in that desktop folder, however the contents are organized--that's what gets synched up to the SkyDrive Interwebs.which means that my entire photo collection, all 13GB of it, needs to be copied into the desktop SkyDrive folder. Now, I also have a Windows Live Photo Gallery on here- never used. But I see on there, that there is a thing that says 'publish to SkyDrive.' Does that mean if I hit the button, they are automatically copied there? So I don't have to dupe my collection? I pushed the 'Publish to SkyDrive' button, and it appears grayed out.
Whenever I use Live Mesh, it locks the computerand quits Windows Media Center. Is there anyway of setting it so that I can log out with WMC running and the computer unlocked?
Hope that someone maybe able to advise or clear up some queries I have!?
1 - I have XP as my current OS, though I have trialled Win 7 and want to purchase it. Will 'Win 7 Upgrade' work over my XP install?
I understand that it will, from forums I've been reading up on, though thought this would be the place to ask for sure!
2 - Once I have purchased and upgraded to Win 7, what if I then want to do a re-install of Win 7 at some stage in the future? Will I have to re-install XP or will Win 7 clean install back over itself with no problem?
May sound like dumb questions, but I've never purchased an Upgrade version of Software before.
I am writing an Access Database which will hold a lot of information about software, books and whatever else I am going to store in there. (Yes, Data entry will take a long time, but not a problem).I have made a query which will search the Books database for Author, and I was wondering how I can make it a little less accurate. So far, It searches for the author using Exact Matching from the input box in the query Code: [Search for author by the name of:] for example, when I want to search for Phillip Pullman, the way that Calibre added the author names, I have to type (Exactly, letter for letter) "Pullman, Philip". Is it possible to make it less accurate so It will bring back results when I search for "Philip" or "pullman" or "philip pullman"?
He has a mesh pc (so no help poss from manufacturer!)Kept getting a bsod. He had a faulty HD, so that was replaced with windows 7 Pro 64 installed (retail) from scratch and still the fault occurs. Am attaching files as requested. Has a core 2, 2gb ram, no problems occurred during windows installation.
I connected skydrive to my Windows Explorer following this instructions How-to: Connect Your SkyDrive In Windows Explorer | mynetx And I did it,but it shows me wrong information. It says 136gb free of 277gb but it should be 24.99 gb free of 25 gb. Here is a Screenshot.

I have Skydrive for Windows installed. Copied a folder to the Skydrive location, shows up as a Skydrive sub-folder. All the files in the folder were immediately uploaded to Skydrive, but new files are not being uploaded.
Anyone knows how to save a file to skydrive with the original file date? My problem is that the file date is the same as the day in which the file was saved to skydrive.
sync files between my desktop and notebook, and using other devices. I have been using SyncToy for quite a while, with fairly good results. Sometimes though I seem to get edits (deletions and overwrites) that I really do not want. Is there a better solution for syncing large amounts of files? I am starting to try out using SkyDrive, but Im not totally comfortable with putting sensitive documents online, also I often use my notebook without any internet access and I would like to be able to have a local copy available. Optimally I would like to be able to have a master drive that both desktop and notebook sync their local versions to.
I want to share a file using SkyDrive by using a public LinkOn the Web Interface I can only send Links to people (these need to be logged in) or I can generate a html-code for a iFrame to publish the file on a website. But I want to get a Link that directly points to the file,
I want to use the skydrive app for users on the domain. They would all share this drive in the notification area but log in and out of the drive with each accessing their own files on a windows 7 machine.this will be for clients logging in with an active directory account. Is this possible? use it as secure online storage obviously they would all need a hotmail address. This would be for multiple domain users on the same physical computer? or is there any free alternative that can accomplish the same
All i want is my ability to send pictures via windows explorer with the right click feature, then to resize them and then send them. Now when it gets ready to send it says some stuff about Skydrive, about some photo album and wants me to log in somewhere. I don't want any of that. I want the old tried and true method I had under plain jane Windows Mail before. How do I make WLM 2011 behave like the old WM? I just want to select, resize and send the way it used to work under WM!!!!!
I have SkyDrive on Windows 7 but I have no icon in my toolbar (at the bottom right hand side) just one on my desktop screen. I might have deleted it somehow. But now I notice that my files are not updating when I go to my iPad and launch Windows Live. I go back to make sure fetch is turned on on my desktop SkyDrive, but without an icon, I can't find it or settings, the furthest I get is something about a Group policy might not be allowing it and to see my administrator. I am on a wireless router.
What online services will connect to my photos on my Skydrive? For example, when I make a new post on Blogger and I want to insert a photo I can select the photo or photo album from Picasa. Unfortunately I cannot select a photo from my Skydrive. Is there anything besides the Windows Live Essentials that will connect to my photos? Either a program or online service?
Is there a file size limit in Skydrive for iPad? Not the upload size but the 'view' size.I have uploaded a few pdf's from my 7pc and the ones that are reasonably small display in iOS SkyDrive just lovely. However I have a magazine or two that are over 100megs and the app says they are unavailable.
On the left, you see: Files Documents Photos Recent Docs Shared
I look in Files, and I see a list of everything, including photos. So when I look inside'photos,'. All I have is a folder for..'Video.' How can I get the photos inside the photo folder?
The beauty of Live Mesh, though, is that you can sync any folder anywhere on your hard drive without having to move or copy it to a specific location. You simply tell Live Mesh which folders to keep in sync on each PC, and it does the rest. The new SkyDrive will sync your files. But unlike Live Mesh, it won't sync specific folders from anywhere on your PC.Instead, it creates a folder on your PC called SkyDrive. Any subfolder or file you wish to sync has to be moved to that specific location. So what was once an automated process now becomes a manual and laborious task. It also can easily create problems for applications that want to store content in your Documents folder, for example.I just switched to Skydrive for this! It was a royal pain figuring out how to junction my documents folder on my second drive into my Dropbox folder. Is there any way to avoid upgrading?
I have not been able to get any email on my [url]..addresses. My verizon mail works and some of my hotmail accounts work. Also, I can't seem to get onto most microsoft sites.
My parents are like old dogs, they are hard to teach. It took me a long time to get them figured out on Windows XP. Just recently their old computer went south. I was able to salvage everything off the old hard drive but rather than to invest in old computer parts and keep Windows XP running, I went with a new computer routeHowever Windows Live Mail 2011 is giving me and my parents headaches.Personally I don't like the SkyDrive feature. For some reason it never works on my Android tablet and some of my parent's family also had trouble getting pictures via SkyDrive. When I use my desktop computer to view the picture, the picture looks like someone smeared Vaseline all over it during resize. The quality didn't degrade like that when used with older email program and the resize option of the past.
Unfortunately it seems Microsoft saw fit to break what worked for more than 20 years and shove in a cloud type system with no easy option to opt out. So my parents are having a hard time using Windows Live Mail 2011.What they do: they go through My Picture folder and select multiple pictures, then click send to emailThey get the option to resize the pictures and then it's sent as attachment. However WLM does not allow photo sent as attachment like this anymoreThe solutions I found so far including making email first, then selecting insert but that does not offer enough resizing option or easy way to mass resize all at once, and selecting attach file does not offer any resize option. The other trick of making a dummy text file then selecting it along the picture worked but that's still extra step for my parents to do and I still haven't be able to "train" them to either make new dummy file for every new picture folder they created or copying over existing dummy file into every new picture folders. Is there a new way found yet, or maybe with WLM 2012 (if it's released very soon) that allows me to completely turn off SkyDrive and let my parent use WLM the same was as older Microsoft email program? Failing that, can Microsoft send someone over to train my parents, at their expense
I have imported my Outlook Express files into Live Mail (from an XP machine to a laptop running windows 7) using the import function in Live Mail. When I look in the Storage Folders there are no files to view. In the Quick Views I am able to read and see unread emails from Outlook Express but not emails that I have read on my XP machine. To do the import I copied the files from the XP machine to a USB stick and then on the laptop browsed to find the files on the stick. The folder containing the OE files in not read only.
when trying to open emails I get message 'An error occurred while trying to open this message' I tried repairing Windows Essentials.I am running Windows 7 Home Premium Service pack 1
