Simple question: If I want to use Live Mesh to connect to a friend's computer when he's having issues, I have to give him my LiveID login and password to do it?Not really inclined to give away my login credentials to anyone.

This probably isn't an error, but a problem all the same. I've synced my documents to SkyDrive using Windows Live Mesh without a problem. However, to access these files with a web browser I have to go to 'devices', not the more prominent 'SkyDrive' tab in Hotmail. Why is this? Why are there two different SkyDrives and is there any way to get them in the same place?

View 5 Replies View RelatedThere's a brand new just out of the box 64 bit Windows 7 desktop PC that I set up for a friend who buys and sells used cars. The PC works beautifully, but he cannot connect to a live auction site that he frequents.We have IE9 32 bit installed as well as the latest version of Firefox.He uses a site called copart.com where he does a member login, then he clicks on a tab to get him to the auction page. From that page he can view all the copart auctions across the US. If he clicks on an auction that has not yet begun he gets a little applet box displays a countdown of the time till that auction starts. So far, so good.
But, if he clicks on an auction that has already begun, he gets a little Java logo that displays for a second or so in the applet box, followed by a msg 'connecting to server'. It never does. It just sits there. It does the same thing in both IE9 and Firefox.I have used his login on several other PCs - from other Windows 7s to Vista to XP, and it works perfectly on all of them.I went into Java, clicked on the Advanced tab, expanded the Java console and selected 'Show console'.Here is what I get when I click on an auction that has already begun:[CODE]
I just recently purchase Bulletstorm for Games for Windows Live. When I tried to run it, "Games for Windows Live states that LIVE cannot connect to LIVE service. Please make sure your computer is connected to the internet."Of course I googled this and read up on many forums that it is a firewall issues and was link to a Windows Internet Connectivity Evaluation Tool site - which everything passes, but not Test 5 - UPnP Support Test Not supported. I tried to locate info on how to update the fireware on this router but have not gain any luck. Below is the results for the reason of failure for my UPnP.

What I am trying to do is to access my Vista Ultimate computer using my Windows 7 Ultimate computer, and have been doing so this way for more than a year.All of a sudden I start getting the message that I have quoted. I do not know why it started doing that.As well, going in the Users tab of task manager you can see there that I am logged in as a console user.
I have built a new system Win.7 and have Live Mail for E Mail. If I try to send an E Mail I get a pop up saying that I used the wrong password. After that I tried my XP computer and it wouldn't connect. I had been using it for years. I re-booted my modem and router. Then the old XP computer was ok. It seems that Live Mail is doing something to either my router or modem.

In my bedroom I have another TV hooked up to another PC (currently running Vista Business but that's probably about to change...). What would be the best way to get the bedroom setup to behave as close as possible to a normal TV with a cable box by controlling and streaming video from the tuner card in the "main" media pc in the living room? Does media center have anything like this natively? I'm open to solutions that skip the second PC too if there's some magical ethernet based KVM switch that can just pipe everything up to the bedroom...I've been eyeing Orb for a little bit but it looks clunky to use, admittedly I haven't tried it yet though. Also preferably I would like to be able to use both at the same time, with the bedroom PC just hijacking one of the four tuners on the infinitv 4 card.

I copied the address book to a flash drive and pasted it to my new laptop windows 7 home premium desktop that uses Live mail. When I click on it it tells me it is exporting to the contact file, but nothing shows up in my live mail contact list.

I've been using Gmail for quite sometime now, but all of a sudden, I couldn't open the site anymore. I can still log in from iGoogle but nothing can get me into Gmail. I've tried connecting from the Google homepage, typing "mail.google.com" into the address bar and I even tried www.gmail.com but nothing worked. The most frustrating part of the problem is that I can connect from any other computer or any kind of device that has Internet capabilities. I've tried clearing my Cookies, Cache, Browsing History and even tried with a different Internet browser but I got no where.
The error that I get when I try to connect with Google Chrome is the following:

Clicking "Learn more" just brings me to a page explaining about cookies and how to delete them.
I did some poking around on the Internet and found some pages that said there might be a virus that is blocking certain webpages from loading (I have no idea about that, but it is likely, as I had just gotten the computer and didn't have any antivirus installed).

i am trying to connect my tv to my computer to use it as my monitor cause my old one broke and i cant afford another one but my tv is vag and m,y computer is dvi so i bought and adapter and plugged it into the back of my computer and plugged the vga cable into it and then my tv but nothing happens when i put my tv into pc mode.
View 4 Replies View RelatedNow the problem: simply put, I cannot connect to any ftp site (even tp.microsoft.com). I strongly believe this has something to do with my computer itself, but I've done endless searches on google and tried several solutions to no avail. Here is a list of what I have tried thus far:-Connecting using the command prompt. On the command prompt I've typed in "ftp ftp.microsoft.com" and it goes straight to the "ftp>" . Whenever I try to use a command the prompt responds with a "Not connected". However, if I ping the ftp server it does respond like it should.-Using software ftp clients (Firezilla, SmartFTP, etc.). I put in the necessary information and that's basically as far as it gets.-Checking "Enable Passive FTP" in IE. That did zip.
-Adjusted Firewall settings... (based on suggestions from forums and such). To the best of my knowledge, everything set as it should. The settings I adjusted were on Windows FirewallThis is what leads me to believe it is my computer that is the problem because when I use this web-based clients its pretty much the only thing that works and I am able to manipulate the files just fine.That's pretty much all my attempts in various forms and google searches. I should also note that I am connected wirelessly to my school's network, but the network doesn't seem to be the problem because I tried connecting using my roomate's laptop and it connected just fine.
