I tried to connect my Sharp AL-1641CS AIO into my computer with Windows 7 Home Premium edition, but windows couldn't recognize it. I then tried to search for a driver for it on line, but I had no luck at all. If you have knowledge on how to get that to work
What is the precise step by step procedure for acquiring and installing the Windows 7 driver for the Sharp AL-1641 cs all in one. Apparently the scanner driver is not updated, but I only want the printing function anyway. When I tried to load what I thought was the right driver, it said that the scanner driver was not supported and then terminated/failed the install.
I have a computer on Windows 7- 64bits and my print server is on Windows 2003 Server 32bits. How can i install the driver of Windows 7-64 bits on my Windows Server 2003 print server?
I have a Sharp printer/copier (MX3501N connected wirelessly) whose driver will not completely download from Sharpusa.com as it says I have an unsupported operating system. Windows 7 64 bit is what we have are running, I downloaded the driver for the 64bit Windows 7 and Windows 7 is supported by Sharp for this printer.
I've just purchased a lap-top using Windows 7 64-bit system. I can't get it to communicate with my Sharp AR-M165 scanner / printer, which worked well with my old Windows XP desk-top computer. I downloaded from Sharp I have since been having difficulties following this up with Sharp.

I have downloaded SP1 for W7-x64 with Windows Update. It's trying to install now, but has been on "installing update 1 of 1" for over two hours at about 1/3 of the progress bar.
Is this a known issue? I have had problems installing other Windows updates too and hoped installing SP1 would fix this once and for all.
a week ago my windows 7 ultimate crashed in the starting screen showing the dam blue screen and warning me that windows couldn't start. I went to the self repair tool.It tool like 4 hours to fix the issue. Then it said, that windows will start normally after that. What a lie. After the starting screen I got the black screen, just with the mouse. I tried everything I know, scanning the disk surface with other computer, I used the windows 7 installation CD. And that told me it couldn't find any issue starting windows. What can I try now? This happens evenwhen I boot normally or in any safe mode.
I had the OS win 7 ultimate 64 bits installed in a IDE HD, and it never gave me any trouble. Because i'm a bit of a speed freak i decide to install a SSD and install on it the OS (same copy of the other one). I started by changing the motherboard to AHCI and in the sequence boot placed the SSD as the first to boot and the old IDE (still with the OS installed) as second. Everything went smooth. Made every ugrade and update needed without a problem. remove in the msconfig the old IDE record so it does not dual boot. Its running like silk. So far so good.
the problem was when i wanted to change the wallpaper. It doesnt assume it. not even the default ones (i can only change the solid colors).
I tried everything from changing the registry keys, creating new users, deleting the trasncodewallpaper, changing the local policies etc. etc. etc. Nothing seems to work.
The only thing it is giving me a error is the windows index rating or something like that. It is unable to finish it, gives some kind of error. dont know why. I have the latest everything installed. Latest games and movies run perfectly...
I have Windows 7 Pro 64 bits SP1 installed. Here's the deal. My system crashed overnight (no one knows why). When it boots back up, it works fine for a while and then Freezes (no more mouse mouvement, no more num-lock light switching on/off). Windows Event is of course empty. I was able to figure out where the source of the problem is. Seems that the whole Restore Point thing is corrupted. Including the Auto part where once in a while it creates a back-up point during boot up. I have tried in normal mode: Accesing the restore to a previous point through Windows normal mode: Freezes every single time when i hit the configure button to remove the Restore point from my C: Drive. Accessing it through CCLeaner and trying to remove a single Restore Point: Freezes. Accessing it through Disk Cleaner, Delete all the restore points. It works... but never ever delete anything.!
Everything was ok, then I tryed to open a TXT file, and I had this error : "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file, you may not have the appropriate permissions to access them."
Then I tryed another TXT file : same Then I tryed to launch firefox : same
I had to reboot, and now everything is fine again, but im really wondering why it happened, and if it will hapen again Its a laptop i bought few days ago, and I only installed avast, zonealarm, and made windows updates : it should be clean I only have one account on this computer
Does Windows 7 Ultimate-64bits have an installer repair option, as Vista and XP did? I would like to insert the CD-ROM (full retail version), drill down to Upgrade, and, instead of reinstalling Windows 7 Ultimate, click on Repair, but I do not see this option on any branch of the installation procedure. Where is the Repair option found, or is it missing from the Windows 7 CD-ROM?My machine is mainly working, but autochk at startup fails and there may be hidden problems that need to be fixed. System Restore (possibly corrupt), Startup Repair (inadequate), sfc /snannow (unsuccessful), chkdsk (inadequate), and a System Repair disk (could not make) are not options. I thus need to use the installation CD-ROM or else download something, if I only knew what. I hope to run a repair utility without resorting to a clean install that would wipe out my hard disk. Please enlighten me.
