I have a Sharp printer/copier (MX3501N connected wirelessly) whose driver will not completely download from Sharpusa.com as it says I have an unsupported operating system. Windows 7 64 bit is what we have are running, I downloaded the driver for the 64bit Windows 7 and Windows 7 is supported by Sharp for this printer.

Only on the Acer Desktop Win 7 home edition 64bit it refuses. Windows claim it encountered a "catastrophical error" (????) and error 0x080000FFFF. I tried the driver on the cd which came with the printer, I tried the download from the Canon site: nothing. Microsoft claims it is a Canon problem and Canon states it is a Microsoft problem. I tried to rename the softwaredistribution folder (result: 0). As to me there is something in the setup of Windows (Acer only delivers image dvd's, not original Windows dvd's) which stops drivers from installing. As this desktop is the printerserver of the house, I would like to get it to work!
