View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using a VPN connection from my Android phone to my home PC by using the "default" Windows 7 (Ultimate x64) VPN feature. The connection works fine, but when I connect with my phone running Android 2.3.6 to this VPN, I loose the Internet connection on my phone and am only able to access the home LAN. Since the Android client doesn't have much settings to configure in this area, I figured the solution to my problem would be if the VPN server could share it's Internet connection to the VPN.

So here's my setup:
PC A and PC B (Both using Windows 7 64)
> PC A got two LAN port (LAN C and D)
> PC B got one LAN port
Cross Over cable
ADSL Modem - Connected to PC A via LAN C
What I want to do is connect the crossover via my PC A's LAN C to PC B's LAN to share the internet connection. Is it possible ? I had managed to make the PC B joined my PC A in homegroup, which mean file sharing has no problem at all. I just doesn't know how to set the IP, DNS, gateway to make my PC B access my PC A internet. Any help ? Please let me know it is possible.

I can able to share the files.But i am unable to share the internet connection.
1. Checked the sharing option in wireless lan.
2.Checked the option sharing in broadband connection in laptop windows7.
3.Changed the properties of the local area connection in PC to ip address as 192.168.2.2 (where windows7 laptop ip address is 192.168.2.1) and subnet mask as 255.255.255.0 And leave other as blank still it is not connecting to internet.

I have an old wireless router (unsecured at the moment) that I have connected to a modem, provided by Virgin media. When I use a cable to directly connect to the router, all seems fine, but when I attempt to connect wirelessly I am almost immediately presented with "Windows was unable to connect to [router name]". Other people in my house (on both XP and Vista) can connect to the router without any problems, implying that it is a setting within Windows 7. HOWEVER, I am able to connect to another (unsecured) wireless router. I guess this can only mean that there is a setting on the router that is preventing me from connecting...

I hooked it up from the wall port, to the router, to my computer. I was able to access the normal Linksys wireless setup page at 192.168.0.1 and set up a network fine. I then unplugged my ethernet cable and attempted to connect to the network and was not able to. If I recall, it 'connected' but there was no internet connection.

I need to turn my super-hub on and off again, but it will keep losing the connection. I have noticed that if I exit Bit-torrent then I don't lose my connection, but I am not sure whether this is just a coincidence. But today it happened twice so I need to figure out the problem. I powered cycled the modem alone, and I still had no connection. I power cycled the router and I had connection after so I'm assuming it's the router to blame. I'm the only computer savvy individual in the household and I don't know what the problem is.I am CONSTANTLY disconnecting from the router even while just browsing the web. The Connection was working about ten days ago and then suddenly stopped and read as an unidentified network no internet access. at one point is was not receiving packets but now it is but it still says no internet access on the IPv4 Connectivity. Media state is also enabled and the speed is 100.0 Mbps when i troubleshoot it says windows cant identify problem but in the details it says default gateway is available. when i use the cmd prompt ipconfig/all my local ethernet adapter has a physical address of all zeros.
I have dell laptop -wireless connection; windows 7 os; vostro; my kids used computer last night; i wake up this morning- cant connect to internet; i have tried everything; i must have done about 5 system restores using different dates - no luck; tried safe mode.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a new HP PC w/ Windows 7 Home Premium [64-bit] OS.When I ordered this computer from HP, it was supposed to come with a wireless internet card. However, the manufacturer made a mistake and did not install any card. I called and complained, now HP has sent me the following product:Linksys WMP600N Dual-Band Wireless-N PCI Adapter now onto setting up the connection....I did install a NETGEAR wireless card on the back of my old PC, about 6 years ago, so I think I should be able to install this card, however I did read some people have problems with the drivers on this card. Also, at my old apartment where I had wireless internet the first time, the landlord and maintenance people managed everything for providing the signal, so I don't really know anything about setting up router, signal, connection, etc.
Right now the primary internet connection in this house comes through the cable+phone company. There is an RCA Thompson Digital/Broadband modem or router or something, model #DHG535-2, and from there the connection plugs through ethernet cable into the Apple Mac that I'm using to type this right now.My new PC is in another room, and I will install that Linksys wireless card and use that PC most of the time. What I would like help with is:
1. What steps must I take to install the new PC
2. Do I need to get a wireless router, and if so, which ones will work best with the wireless card I received
etc. etc.I think I found my old NETGEAR wireless router, model number MR814v2(??), but I bought this 6 years ago and don't know whether it will work well or at all with the new dual-band card.
