Screensaver That Plays All Photo And Video Formats?
Sep 21, 2011
am using windows live photo gallery for a screensaver. It plays all photo and video except videos with in the MOV format. I have searched for a solution and have not found a resolution. So now I am searching for a screensaver that plays all video and photo files. I found a couple but you have to "build" it by pointing the screensaver to specific files. Does anyone know of a screen saver that would play all photo and video files by just pointing them to the folder containing the photos and videos?
I'm getting my mum's new 64-bit Windows 7 HP Pavillion all set up for her, and I have hit a minor snag. When the photo screensaver is running, you can use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move forward and backward through the pictures, but it won't pause.
In XP, you could always push the down arrow to pause the screensaver in order to look at a picture longer, but that only ends the screensaver in 7. I've also noticed the same problem in Vista. Is there some way I can pause the photo screensaver and not "wake up" the computer, or did Mr. Gates decide to discontinue the feature after XP?
Is there something built into Windows 7 that will do a screen saver of a library of photos, yet use *both* displays to show multiple photos? There are a couple in there, but they only seem to work on the primary display. Is there a way to enable multiple displays for these?
I have a nice 3rd party app I purchased in the XP days that does this, but was wondering if there was a way to get 7 to do it natively.
For some reason, I cannot get the photo screen saver to include sub directories. I select either my pictures folder, or my pictures library, and in both cases, it only seems to poll those pictures in the root of pictures, as well as sample pictures.. None of the other folders in the pictures folder get polled... Any suggestions?
Also.. for some reason, the screen saver does not start when it should. I can preview it from the screen saver configuration screen, but it doesn't start on it's own after the allotted time....
Some of my photos are displayed in a sort of low resolution!
I have downloaded and installed Windows Live Photo Gallery and use its screen-saver in Pan and zoom with medium speed. Many photos are excellently displayed but some are displayed in a very coarse resolution. These photos are displayed normally in other applications.
One for example is 4,15 MB width 10066 pixs and height 2619 pixs ( a panorama). I have tried to re-sample to a smaler size but the problem remains.
Using the Google screensaver they display normally, but I like the pan effect in Live Photo Gallery better.
I use the Windows Live Photo Gallery screensaver, ticked for 'photos and video from...'. When it runs, photos are fine but videos show with a grayed out media file icon. These are just simple .avi files that play with media player, vlc, or whatever.
I have a desktop PC and a laptop and I edited a video and put it on a flash drive. When I play it on my laptop, only audio plays. The file is 258mb but the flash drive has 408mb free, so it's not a memory issue or anything like that. I have no idea what is going on. Both PC's are windows 7.
I have a problem playing live TV using Windows Media Player. I can select different TV channels without a problem. I can hear the audio clearly. However, i can not watch anything as it displays a black screen. I originally used WinTV (version 7, with the newest updated driver and software) and works fine. For video card, I have a GTX260 with the latest version (295.73) installed. I've tried different versions of driver (259.xx to 285.xx) to no avail. When I tried setting up the TV tuner it detects the tuner as Analog Cable (tuner 1) which I assume is the WinTV tuner.
I have ran into a new problem with my media player, I tried to play a movie from a tv series and the video plays great but absolutely no sound. I tried music and it won't play either. I did some little research and I keep coming across things about codecs, I don't know what codec I need for windows media 12. I also have divx player and it wont let out a sound either. I'm clueless from this point and also I have updated my drivers for just incase but no luck.
So I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and my files randomly play or pause, whether it's a song, or a movie or a TV show. Sometimes it goes for hours not giving me problems, but then at some point randomly pauses and continues, either at like half second intervals, few seconds, or even like 20 seconds after it pauses, it randomly plays again.
I play them off my hard drive and off my external, it's not my external that's the problem I don't think. I'm thinking maybe my wireless adapter is a problem? I don't know.
If I downloaded HijackThis and gave you guys or the guys there a log, would they be able to identify what's causing this, or would it just show as me clicking pause and play, because it does it by itself...
I don't have a virus, I didn't access the internet for more than a few days and I didn't go on any malicious sites, I have AV, but the wireless isn't even on and it's a new build, I know I don't have a virus.
Running a video as screensaver in Windows7 Some of you may have seen my posting in the Vista forum on how to run a video as screensaver [URL]. This method does not work in Windows7. There is, however, another method for Windows7 that accomplishes the same goal. For that you have to go via Windows Live Photo Gallery. If you do not have it yet on your system, download it from Windows Live Essentials[URL]). Then do the following steps: Open Live Essentials Photo Gallery Click on File Click on > Screen Saver Settings (This will open the Screen Saver Settings) Browse to your folder with the video and open it (OK) In the Use this theme list box, select Album Then do Save Now run Preview and see whether it works Remind you that the video format must be .wmv. If you have another format, convert it with Format factory [URL]
I just bought a laptop and I am trying to send a video or photo from the webcam and it says there is no email set up for this computer to set it .. how?
I wanted to remove my old HDD and I dont know why but I think part of the Windows 7 boot system was on it. So when I removed it, I couldn't boot anymore. I looked for my Windows 7 DVD, but only found the XP CD and tried to fix the MBR with that. However I tried 'fixmbr' and 'bootfix' and ended up with my HDD being formatted. Now I found my Windows 7 DVD, but its too late. It shows that the HDD is formatted. I also tried putting the HDD in another PC with XP, but there its the same way. I really need the data on it. There is probably a way to make it undone?
Unable to save audio recordings in CCIT-ulaw format since we went to Windows 7. Is there a way to revert back to the Windows XP Version of Sound Recorder on Windows 7 or is there a way to save an audio file in different formats like we were able to with the Win Xp version of Sound Recorder?Tried simply copying the sndrec32.exe over from the Win XP machine but that didn't work, got numerous errors when launched.
since i install CCCP 2011 (both of 2011 versions) some old programs stop to detect AVI formats in my pc and keep telling me it unknown format, video players working fine, and even editer programs such as movie maker, premier, and sony vegas, but old programs such as: 123 AVI to GIF Converter,Ulead GIF Animator 5,Gif Creator, and EximiousSoft GIF Creator v5.75 stop detected AVI!i assume the new cccp stop using some sort of filter or codec, i also notice that even progrems like movie maker edit my videos in totaly low quality.. no mattar what i change in the options (and yea , i done clean install to cccp 2011 , delete the old one, restart, delete leftover, install cccp 2011). there is any kind of codec that can run AVI files without interfere with cccp?
Is there any photo editing software comparable to the old Adobe PhotoDeluxe. I have tried Gimp, Picasso and paid for other versions of Adobe. None are as user friendly and have the editing tools that PhotoDeluxe had.
Explorer won't update thumbnails after I alter a photo, for example by rotating sideways photos (that is, permanently rotating, using a photo editor program), or by cropping.
How do I get the thumbnails to update?
This is happening for all photos (not just certain ones).
I have tried:
- View > Refresh
- Copying the photos to a new folder and renaming them. Even if a photo has been drastically cropped, the thumbnail is still showing the original, whole one - that is, it's showing parts of the file that DON'T EVEN EXIST
- Entirely disabling the thumbnail cache: Group Policy Editor > 'Turn off caching of thumbnails in hidden thumbs.db files'. This *must* force Windows to redraw the thumbnail - but it doesn't!
- Restarting computer after each of the above steps
Win 7 Pro, 64 bit. Photos are jpegs from a new digital camera.
my win 7 photo viewer does the weirdest thing!! when i view my photos and rotate them and close the viewer, they disappear from my folder where they were originally stored in. i've checked my deleted items. no luck. searched whole pc for edited files and names of files that disappeared. no luck there either. i tested it on my hubby's pc. exact same result there.
I have recently installed windows 7 32bit OS. after installation i checked speaker test all 6 speakers are playing, but when i play any music only 2 speakers will work. kindly suggest me what can i do for updates.
I record on a CD-R the worship service at my church. I then rip certain tracks, isolate only the sermon, and burn it to a CD-R (mp3) using Windows Media Player. I recently realized I can play them back on my laptop but the recipients may not be able to hear it on a CD player or car stereo (including mine = 2002 Acura MDX Bose). What do I need to do to be sure 100% of recipients will be able to hear it?
I have Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit. I recently burnt some files to dvd disc on my pc and they played back fine on mine and a Vista pc.
However, now if I burn files to a dvd disc using any program or Windows Explorer drag/drop the pc does not recognise the disc when ejected and then re-inserted, it just does nothing if I click on the Dvd drive. It doesn't argue about inserting a disc or an error on playback, its just as if the drive is inaccessible, not there. The burnt video files play fine from disc before ejection.
However, if I then insert that disc into my old Vista Home Premium SP2 32bit machine, everything is hunky dorey fine, disc is readable and prompts to auto play cideo files. I have no issue with it. Put it back into Windows 7 and again nothing.
So, the dvd disc is created in Windows 7, plays ok until ejected and then will only play on my old Vista Home Premium machine. I thought maybe session wasn't closed but as far as can see it is.
Most perplexed! I burnt the files ot dvd to sent to a friend who has Vista but has also tried a Windows 7 laptop so am completely stumped. This process worked fine just mere weeks ago for us, I am doing nothing different.
My devices show no sign of problems. Normal shop bought DVD plays on my pc fine so I know the drive is good!
Strange problem! I have some sounds that play through my speakers when headphones are plugged in. For example, if I run Skype, the Skype will play through the headphones (properly), but iTunes will play through speakers, as will anything else.
This also happens when playing Borderlands - I have to unplug and replug headphones to get it to go back!
What gives? How to fix this? I have IDT HDA as my sound card. Windows forced me to install NVIDIA HDA as well, so I have 2 sound drivers - NVIDIA HDA and IDT HDA AUDIO CODEC.
since I have installed windows7 it seems I have lots of errors trying to watch streaming on my laptop I noticed mass controller explanation point next to it does this effect streaming video?
