View 1 Replies View Relatedam using windows live photo gallery for a screensaver. It plays all photo and video except videos with in the MOV format. I have searched for a solution and have not found a resolution. So now I am searching for a screensaver that plays all video and photo files. I found a couple but you have to "build" it by pointing the screensaver to specific files. Does anyone know of a screen saver that would play all photo and video files by just pointing them to the folder containing the photos and videos?

View 5 Replies View RelatedExplorer won't update thumbnails after I alter a photo, for example by rotating sideways photos (that is, permanently rotating, using a photo editor program), or by cropping.
How do I get the thumbnails to update?
This is happening for all photos (not just certain ones).
I have tried:
- View > Refresh
- Copying the photos to a new folder and renaming them. Even if a photo has been drastically cropped, the thumbnail is still showing the original, whole one - that is, it's showing parts of the file that DON'T EVEN EXIST
- Entirely disabling the thumbnail cache: Group Policy Editor > 'Turn off caching of thumbnails in hidden thumbs.db files'. This *must* force Windows to redraw the thumbnail - but it doesn't!
- Restarting computer after each of the above steps
Win 7 Pro, 64 bit. Photos are jpegs from a new digital camera.
my win 7 photo viewer does the weirdest thing!! when i view my photos and rotate them and close the viewer, they disappear from my folder where they were originally stored in. i've checked my deleted items. no luck. searched whole pc for edited files and names of files that disappeared. no luck there either. i tested it on my hubby's pc. exact same result there.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI took a look at my TaskMan because my Core 0 was at 100%, and I just exited a flash game.I had 4 IE windows open, and a total of 4 tabs. One iexplore.exe was using over 400,000K. I clicked on the Applications tab, right clicked on each App, and selected Go To Process. None took me to the iexplore.exe. NOW, I have 2 more tabs open [both 7forums] and the memory usage is over 873,000K..I am currently on my second attempt on uploading a Zip of the .DMP of that IE process, and it doesn't look good. Nope.I will try uploading it later, but until then, can somebody walk me through.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to take ownership of a file (relating to Avast anti-virus) in order to be able to remove it from Add/Remove in the Control Panel and also to remove its directory from Program Files on my C drive.I have to do this through the Cmd Prompt and act as administrator. I have right-clicked on the Cmd Prompt and get this (which is what I ought to see):
C:windowssystem32>
What I am not sure about is the path to the directory (or folder) that I want to delete: I don't know the syntax. And, can I delete the entire folder in one go, or do I need to remove it contents file by file?
My computer shutting Down has been staying on longer than it used to. Please let me know what I need to do to make it run faster again like when after I first bought it
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Windows 7 hung itsself up this morning. I had to use the power button to restart. I chose Safe Mode. I now have the screen:
Start up repair. Start up repair is checking your system for problems Attemping Might take an hour
That was 8 hours ago and it is still running. I pressed the Cance button and got the answer "Cannot cancel"
Is there anything that would cause all registry changes not to have any effect? The changes are saved and still there when the computer is restarted..but the changes never appear. It isn't complicated or anything - just WallpaperOriginX.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen I boot up my computer it stays in a black screen for about 3 minutes then moves to the logo screen where it stays there for another 3-4 minutes then finally gets to my desktop.I have a hunch of what it has to do with but could be wrong.I ran diskeeper (defrager program) and it mentioned something about sound driversI just went along with it and just ran it (foolish now I know)Ever since it has finished and I went to turn on my laptop again this boot up lag hasoccurred.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have just installed windows 7. The process was seamless, but the second I got to the desktop, a problem began. Intermittently, the screen will go black and windows logo desktop wallpaper will appear on the screen. After a few seconds the desktop reappears. The computer is fully functional when not freezed up with the wallpaper, so all drivers are up to date, and I have sp1.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI did a clean install of Windows 7 on my 30 gb SSD. When I was done, there was about 14-15 gb left on the drive. After installing drivers, I had about 12 gb left. Then I used Windows Update and installed all the important updates. After all the updates, I had only 4-5 gb left. Is this supposed to happen? Why is it taking up so much space? Is there any way I can free up space on there?

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy internet started running very slow about 3 weeks ago. It also takes approximately 2 minutes for my computer to shut down. I am running Windows 7, 64bit, with 6 gb of ram. I ran malwarebytes and it did not detect anything. I cleaned my hard drive with the disc cleaner. I ran microsoft essentials and it did not detect anything. I recently purchased Norton antivirus and ran a complete scan and it found nothing. Every time I shut down the computer it takes exactly the same amount of time to shut down.
