Cannot Access Alot Of Websites?

Nov 29, 2011

I recently upgraded to an i7-2600k and z68 asrock mobo. (i had a 955be an msi mobo). Anyway i reinstalled windows (just an overwrite not clean install). Then i could not load yahoo.com, microsoft.com and a host of other websites. I am in a pc gaming clan and need to be able to access my yahoo email and some of the sites that i currently cannot access. So i tried a clean install on same hard drive and still same problem. So i tried a clean install on a second hard drive, still same problem. I have also tried a ethernet card (thinking maybe the onboard ethernet was defective). I have updated all drivers. I have not updated the bios cause it is only 1 update off. and that update says it has nothign to really add. I have win 7 64 bit os.

I also have an old vista computer on the same router that has no problems accessing these sites, i changed the computers to the other ethernet cables just to make sure and the vista one has no problems on the cable my gaming comp is on and my gaming comp still cant access on the other cable. so its not a cable issue.I have flushed my dns, reset the modem and a bunch of other stuff that i googled ( i can load that at least, but cant connect to any microsoft help pages). So i use my other comp to look up microsoft help pages and tried the stuff listed there. Also i cannot load adobe flash player - think this might be part of the prob. I go to adobe and click flash player, and the comp downloads it into my downloads. Then i open it and it starts downloading but stops at 12% and says connection timeout. every time. if i let google toolbar install with it that installs just fine, that connection doesnt time out. Im getting really frustrated and the only thing i can think of is to call my isp or microsoft and see what they say.

WMC Freezes At End Of Netflix Episodes

Nov 22, 2011

Almost every time a Netflix show I'm watching in Media Center reaches the end (final frames of video), the show freezes in full screen and WMC stops responding. The video remains full screen, frozen on the last frame played, and WMC's menus/buttons do not appear. WMC does not back out of the video to the Netflix browser.I say almost because because a show has properly ended and backed out to the Neflix/WMC browser maybe once in all the episodes/movies I've watched (~10, mostly tv episodes, one movie).Typically the freeze happens before the very end of the video (during credits, sometimes chopping the show short/mid-sentence if they're talking over credits). The only way I can get out of the video and back to WMC is to alt-ctrl-del and end the Media Center process (it shows Running in task manager but eventually it comes up "Not Responding" then restarts).I've rebooted several times with the same result.I can properly back out of a running video to the Neflix browser any time prior to the lock up, but once it's frozen the only way to get out is to end the task in windows task manager.Otherwise WMC is running fine, this is just a super deal breaker since I have to go through so many steps just to watch the next episode of the series.Running Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit), latest updates installed including those for WMC and Silverlight. It's on a computer I just started using as an HTPC so the WMC Netflix plugin is freshly installed as well. Almost no applications running in background. Dell Inspiron 1764 core i3 2.13GHz, 4GB ram, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330. Connected to HD TV at 720p (computer doesn't quite keep up at 1080p).Internet/Netflix connection is tried and true- have been streaming Netflix via Nintendo Wii and web browsers for years- only experiencing playback issues in WMC.

BSOD Loading Netflix / Flash App

Mar 18, 2012

while I was on wireless, which I think the problem might originate from, I had 3 BSODs within a span of 30 minutes. Two of the BSODs were linked to opening Netflix on Firefox and the other was caused by opening a Flash app on Chrome. If I recall correctly, the last BSOD error was something akin to Driver not less or equal? Regarding the dump files, when I went to double check that a dump file was created upon BSOD, I noticed that the option to have it overwrite was checked, so I'm not sure if the previous two BSOD dump files were recorded. Some of my previous older BSODs (which the issue was solved) were included in the folder, I believe, since the program just captured everything in the minidump folder.

Netflix Movie Streaming - How To Get Back To Browsing

Nov 7, 2011

I am new to WMC and I linked my netflix account to it. While I like the fact that WMC integrates my media experience, I am very disappointed that the Netflix streaming does not have a good exit. Everytime I choose a movie to watch, it's OK, but at the end of the movie, I get a black screen. No Exit, No way to get back to the Browsing Window. Nothing. I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete, restart WMC, and get back to Netflix.

10-25 Second PC Stalls

Aug 13, 2012

When I have firefox open as it seems, is when the problem arises. My computer will stall for 10-20 seconds making it completely unusable for that time frame, then it will come back. I upgraded FireFox to 15 (Beta2) I removed Adobe Flash (latest version) and installed it again, the problem continues. I did a memory test, because I have had a BSOD roughly twice in the past 1.5 weeks, the memory results were good. I did research on Adobe Flash and found that there are problems with the latest version, and sometimes a Adobe Flash app on a web site will crash. When I've had no web pages open in FireFox, it will happen as well ? I can't verify if I've had this problem when FireFox is closed or not as there wasn't many times in which I didn't have FireFox open whether minimized or the window open.

Netflix Causes Computer To Freeze, Popping And Buzzing Noises?

Mar 2, 2012

For the last week or so, I have been unable to watch Netflix videos without constant freezing and the sound popping and buzzing (after a minute or two it continues playing). I'm not sure whether or not this started before or after I uninstalled/reinstalled my internet drivers, (midterms stopped my video viewing cold) but they shouldn't be related, should they? Sometimes after this error, I get a popup message that says my NVIDA graphics card stopped working. (I havent been able to capture the exact wording.) I was going to try un/reinstalling the graphics card, but when I went to, I found I wasn't sure what to do. Do I do it to "NVIDIA GeForce G210M" under display adapters, or "NVIDIA High Definition Audio" under Sound, video and game controllers. In addition, "NVIDIA High Definition Audio" is actually listed 4 times in my device manager. Which one do I uninstall? Each one says that the best driver is already installed.

Upgrade My G54 Airstation Netflix Movies Slowing The Computer

Jul 2, 2012

I need to upgrade my old G54 Airstation router which has been an excellent router but time is taking its toll. I know nothing about routers so surfing simply confused me to no end. I need some suggestions to help get me on track. Not as concerned with price as I am with quality and performance. Currently have 2 computers, network printer and the wifes tv hard wired to the the 4 out ports. Running Verizon High Speed Internet Enhanced which avgs 1.3 Mbps /.35 Mbps. Really need a couple more ports. With 8 Grandkids and all their new gadgets, quality and fast wireless is a must. At times, there are 6 to 8 units tied to the internet all at one time. Currently having an issue with the wifes Netflix movies bringing the internet on the computers to a crawl but that just may be the Verizon internet which is the fastest (not fast enought for me) available in my area.

Microsoft Not Supporting Netflix In Windows Media Center?

I then proceeded to chat with a Netflix associate and after a lot of back and forth they said that Microsoft is no longer supporting Netflix in WMC. I have seen nor heard of anything recently to support this. Why then does Netflix still show up in WMC? I could find nothing on Microsoft's site that was even remotely close to what I was looking for.

Windows 7 64bit - Microsoft Silverlight Plugin Crashes In Netflix

Aug 7, 2011

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and have recently encountered a few problems. First (and I'm not sure if this is related), the computer would easily overheat and then cpu usage would skyrocket to 100%, and I wouldn't be able to do anything. After running a virus scan (TrendMicro) and Malwarebytes, I got nothing, and I figured it was just my computer(a DELL Latitude E6400, which usually has overheating problems). This might still be the case. The new problem is that when using Netflix, Microsoft Silverlight plugin crashes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled all of my browsers, cleared the caches and done everything suggested to me.

Upgrade To Windows 7 Stalls At 63% (Not 62%)

May 15, 2010

I decided to upgrade my Dell 1525 Inspiron laptop from Vista Home Premium (32 bit) to Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit). I bought the Dell disks and ran the upgrade assistant first. It told me to uninstall two programs - which I did. I should say I do not want to do a clean install for two reasons (1) there will be so much hassle in re-installing programs, files etc. (2) people on the web who have this 63% problem report a clean install aslo fails at 63% and they are even worse off then before!i have now tried four times and each time it fails at the last hurdle at 63% when it is transferring files back to the system. A search of the net will show that several people have experienced the same problem (there is also one at 62%). After my first failure I tried the tips of unplugging the LAN/Internet connection; inserting MIG-UPGRADE-UGBIRE-PLUGINS etc.; I disabled most things in the startup list but each time it failed at the 63%. I left it running for 7 hours over night just in case the 63% needed time to sort itself out but it made no progress.I don't have any unusual software - Kaspersky Internet Security, Mailwasher (which I disbled during the last attempt) and a Western Digital external hard drive (which I also unplugged and disabled during the last attempt). Windows 7 Stalls A Little When Opening Programs?

Feb 16, 2012

About a week or so ago we had a big storm that knocked the power out a few times... my computer rebooted each time and after the second time Kaspersky detected a "memory mode kernal" or something like that (I accidentally deleted it from the list) and stated it had the same pattern as Klogger or something like that. I thought it was odd but after those restarts programs started to open slower on my computer than normal and sometimes I could see at the top of the program it would say 'program not responding' or something along those lines. This has mostly happened with Furcadia and Firefox but other programs like Adobe Elements come up slower than normal and even Windows 7 sticky notes come up slower. So what I have done was rebooted in safe mode and ran scans with both Malwarebytes and Kaspersky (with no problems to report as far as malware/viruses), ran CClearner, then ran defraggler (in normal windows). The problems seem to have gotten worse so I did a Memtest86 scan to see if it was my memory... no errors were shown (Memtest86 was ran after the most recent update to windows). So I still have some of the problems but for some things not as bad or just about the same as before. However, with my last reboot my computer had stalling problems.. it was trying to install the drivers for my new keyboard and load everything else (including NVIDIA System Monitor, Internet connection, Kaspersky, adobe reader update message, and windows action center [maybe something else too, I closed some of that stuff afterwards]).

Internet Stalls/times Out While Browsing The Web?

Apr 10, 2012

For the past few months I've been having an issue where every 15-30 minutes my laptop will "stall" while browsing the web. I'll get a "waiting for [URL], etc message at the bottom left corner of the browser when it's stalling until it eventually times out and tells me it can't load the page. This issue occurs with every browser I try (IE, Chrome, Firefox). After a couple minutes, everything comes back to normal and I can continue wasting time on the internet until the next hiccup.

My set up is:

A Gateway NV57H58U Intel Core i5-2430M
Windows 7
Comcast digital cable
A Belkin Wireless router
A PS3

At first I assumed it was the router since it's a couple years old and was cheap when I bought it back then. The only thing that makes me think differently is that when I'm using the PS3 I never experience a break in connection. I can play a game online for 3-4 hours without any crashes or stutters. Also, while the internet is stalling out there is never a disconnect from the router - it always says it's connected and the signal strength is always "Excellent."
