Microsoft Not Supporting Netflix In Windows Media Center?
Dec 19, 2012
I turned on my HTPC this morning and proceeded to Netflix for some streaming fun, and got the error message saying something was wrong with my account. Please login again. I tried. No good. I then proceeded to chat with a Netflix associate and after a lot of back and forth they said that Microsoft is no longer supporting Netflix in WMC. I have seen nor heard of anything recently to support this. Why then does Netflix still show up in WMC? I could find nothing on Microsoft's site that was even remotely close to what I was looking for.
I have installed Windows 7 Professional on my laptop and it has Media Center. But I can't see any way to access Netflix. Is Netflix support available on Windows 7 Media Center?
Netfix is shutting down Media Center when we try to watch a movie. It was working fine but this morning every time we try to access Netfix we get an error saying Media Center shutting down and restarting?
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and have recently encountered a few problems. First (and I'm not sure if this is related), the computer would easily overheat and then cpu usage would skyrocket to 100%, and I wouldn't be able to do anything. After running a virus scan (TrendMicro) and Malwarebytes, I got nothing, and I figured it was just my computer(a DELL Latitude E6400, which usually has overheating problems). This might still be the case. The new problem is that when using Netflix, Microsoft Silverlight plugin crashes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled all of my browsers, cleared the caches and done everything suggested to me.
I'm in grave problem here. I just installed windows 7 x64 a few days back. And initially I installed the 32bit version of k-lite codec pack for my windows media player. The media center worked fine then. It was loading my ffdshow and ac3filter along as I checked it.But then yesterday I noticed that the same pop-up od recommended/express install of WMP came again. Initially I thought that it must be some bug or something, but then when my MKV and AVI files didn't work in WMC, I realized that somehow WMP x64 got triggered, and now it is using the x64 bit of WMP in WMC. And I just wanna revert back to 32-bit WMP in WMC.
I can't get eithe WMP or MC to play a DVD. I've set the region code. WMP acts like it will play, but then just goes blank, and MC says it cannot play the DVD. These are original discs, not burned copies. I have a custom built system, with 2 graphics cards (GTX 260 and a GT 220) 6 GB of RAM, and an i7 processor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
When I open Windows Media Center - Internet TV is listed. On the windows website it shows that I should have that option. So, I assume I don't have something set up right.I have a TV tuner and I can record and watch TV just can't get to see the Internet TV channels.
I'm trying to make my wallpaper but when I scale or fit it with desktop personalization it cuts off an important part of it or it doesn't cover the whole screen.I want to take a full screen shot in Windows Media Center but whenever I take the screenshot I just get a black screen and not the screen shot.So it seems it may be a bug or something and I'm not the only one with the problem.I followed those steps and added what they told me to with Regedit but it still didn't work for me. The author in the article says to "restart" media center does that just mean to close the program and open it again? I tried that and it still didn't work.
I am currently using Media Center but was wondering if there are anything better out there. I have alot of MKV files so I would need something that can play those.
I want use a self build pc. The spec are Asus motherboard Intel socket 775 2.6 quad core oc'ed to 3.1 16 gig of 1333 ddr3 ram and a Asus Nivida 9800gt graphic card. Would this system be good enough to run and play tv programs?
I was wondering, if I run an HDMI cable from my computer to the TV, can I run Windows Media Center over on my TV in the background? If so, would I be able to say play a game on my computer while my parents are watching something with media center? (without audio of course) Would I be able to use a remote with the media center running in the background, and still use my mouse and keyboard at the same time(while the remote is being used)?
I recently purchased a Media Centre PC with a Compro E750 Dual Digital PCIe HD TV Tuner. When I record a TV program I get large blocking in the picture and it is difficult to watch. I have a clear picture when normally viewing TV and when viewing TV programs from web sites.
I am experiencing issues with WMC in combination with Windows Firewall. With the FW turned on I cannot watch live TV and get an event viewer message "WMDRM-ND" Error. Turning Windows Firewall off resolves the problem. As I do not want to turn the FW on and off all the time I would like to know where I have to apply the relevant tweaks so I can watch TV with the FW on.Ideas anyone?
I recently tried to use windows media center to connect to my xbox. I've had my hp laptop for over 2 years now and may have never even used WMC. But whenever I try to launch it, the blue wheel next to the mouse pops up for a second and then nothing. Nothing happens at all.
I've tried going to programs and features and turning off both WMC and WMP, restarting, and then re-enabling them. This has done nothing. I've even gone into Windowsehome and deleted all the files in it and did the disable/enable thing (I did, of course, make a backup of the folder). I looked through the programs and features themselves, hoping to find WMC so I could see if there was a repair option, but it doesn't show up. How can I make WMC work?
I started watching an OTA recording with WMC7 and about 2 minutes into it WMC7 stopped. A message came up saying it stopped & had options to restart WMC or go online (which appeared to send info to MS) and a 3rd option I don't recall. I just restarted & everything worked just fine.
I looked at event logs & found this. I did a search for that ntdll.dll but could not find a definitive answer to what caused the problem. The typical comments were to reboot or reinstall software. Is there anything from this listing that tells or hints at what caused WMC to stop?
I can't open any programs because of windows media center. I tried to access the "default program" which can be found on the control panel but still the WMC pops out and also the regedit in the start-up menu still WMC pops out. All my app icons are WMC. If i open it WMC will pop out. Lastly, I tried to make a system restore but it didn't work because WMC pops out again.
I need to set up windows media center on my sons computer. he has a verizon fios set top box.we do not have a windows media center remote or any IR remote. all we have is the verizon remote for the verizon box.so how can i by pass the stupid IR hardware not connected message?
When I first upgraded from Vista Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium I was able to view a TV movie using Windows Media Center but I had accessed the WMC from a web site. Now I can't find Windows Media Center, even when I press Start > and look in Programs. However, Windows Media Player is listed. When I press Start and enter Windows Media Center in the search field nothing comes up.In Programs and Features there is listed "Windows Media Center Add-in for Flash"
ive added the folders in windows media center id like to share but when i go on my ps3 it says its not registered or something?could we use the media center and ps3 for sharing?
I would like to know how to change the volume level from 50 to 100 in Windows Media Center on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I have tried to look for the Windows Media Center folder by showing hidden folder and also hidden windows sytem files as well, but no success. Please help me. My complaint is that I want the volume for Media Center to be at 100 because when I use it I can only get 50.
All of a sudden windows media player and center won't play any videos other than mp4s. Could it be related to me installing a new amd driver? The files run good in real player but they look better in windows media player. When I try to open videos with it it will pop up then give the message this program has stopped working. I tried resetting it but it did not work.

I have the windows media center hooked up with my 360.. It was working fine with the movies... But now it doesnt.. On the computer when i click on movies it says its stopped working... Also it does the same thing on my 360 but says reconnect?
Windows Media Center has stopped working on my dell studio 1749 laptop. When I try to open it tells me that windows media center has stopped working and that windows is checking for a solution to the problem. Well, that's been going on for a month. I've tried a recent system restore, checked this forum and microsoft answers forum for answers but with no luck.Should I try a older system restore? Should I go ahead and use my system image I made last year which was right after I bought this dell brand new? Wanted to try and fix without re-install but if I can't find the problem that might be the only thing left to do.
Last week both my hard drives failed and after buying a new one I reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium. When I tried to reinstall/set up Windows Media Center the set up got to the point where it was scanning my TV signals for channels and was about 1/3 to 1/2 through when the computer killed itself and rebooted. This happened 3 times at about the same place. Why is this happening and how do I get the set up to complete? I had it working just fine before on my old hard drive but I can't now.. I am now using Total Media 3.5 which works but not as well as Media Center so I would really like to get the set up to complete...
I have a USB TV Tuner which works fine to watch TV in WMC. However, when a programme is set to record, and my laptop goes into sleep mode, I believe it turns off the USB TV Tuner, and therefore the programme doesn't record. WMC support center says that the program is able to record when the computer is in sleep so I know it is not the program which is the issue.
I got my computer six months ago and never bothered with Windows Media Center. In order to see TV on my computer, I needed a TV tuner. Since I am a member with Netflix and Microsoft promoted Netflix working on the Center, I tried to use it without the tuner and just play media from my hard drive and Netflix but it did not work. The Netflix rep. said they had issues with it working with their software. In addition, the Microsoft tech. said I needed the tuner for it to work at all. Six months later, I get an email from Microsoft suggesting uninstalling software I do not use to improve the PCs performance. Therefore, I decided to get rid of Windows Media Center never using it. However, I wanted to try it again and see if it could work now. To my surprise, it worked beautifully organizing the media from my hard drive and Netflix worked on it. I had to download software to get it working and I do not know what I downloaded but it seemed to work. Then, suddenly the screen went black with the white curser from my mouse the only thing I could see. I tried to reboot a minute later and I was able to log on but instead of going to the desktop, a black screen reappeared. I shut the computer down and waited 20 minutes before turning it on. After I logged in, Windows 7 opened to the desktop. Are there any issues with Windows Media Center and, can I operate it without a TV tuner or should I uninstall it since I do not plan to get the TV tuner?
