I recently ran a new program named Power Tool Lite. Now all the commands have disappeared and now the new ones won't hold. When I open Run there's only a blank field where the commands used to be. Is it possible to get them back or if I start the list over again how to make them stay after they are typed in?
Recently I got myself a new set of headphones and they sound great but a bit too great because whenever I hold down any key I hear a rapid clicking sound. The sound isn't very loud but loud enough that it has been annoying me since I got these headphones. Is there any way to disable this clicking noise so that I cannot lose my mind.
I've customized my power setting so that the monitor is set to turn off after 25 min of inactivity. It was working for a several days but just last week, I noticed that my monitor was not turning off as expected. When I looked in the power setting, the "Turn off the display" was set to NEVER.
I changed it back to 25 min; it worked for a few days....but somehow it keeps reverting back to the NEVER. I should add that I have all the OS updates installed and I am the only user on this computer.
Running into an interesting problem and my partner and I can not figure out exactly what is the issue. We are capturing an Image from a Lenovo machine and then pushing back to the same machine for testing. Everything works fine except for the fact that the OS seems to be getting stuck trying to pick the Timezome during one of the restarts.I am looking for really any suggestions of something we may have over looked in settings or answer files etc. We have it set to pick Eastern Standard but seems to just not want to pick it.I should note that if we pick the Timezone manually the rest of the Image works completely fine and joins the domain how we want it to. It simply a problem of getting this pass unstuck.
Solved: Currently on laptop; no problem here, but on my PC the Taskbar (Lock checked) doesn't hold its' locked size. I have "Autohide" enabled and I adjust the size to my liking. It stays that size for a while, but will revert to about half the width of my selection; which was slightly over an inch.
i currently have a printers shared over a network on a windows xp computer. i am connecting to both xp and 7 over a network. each time i restart my win 7 computer i have to reconnect to the sharer to be able to print.
there any other reason why to use it?I use now Google Chrome, I completely forgot about Firefox. Tried Opera few times...ts user specific, I know. I like it because it does what I need to do , is fast, u can open 200+ tabs and it still works perfect. I like the simplicity and simple look of it...Firefox was doing fine till version 3.6. Than it could not hold the tabs and it kept crashing.I stopped using IE 10 years ago or so. Yes, I still use it if there is no other way or on someone else's PC and I know why is it, that I don't use it.
Ok, is there a way to change for example capslock on/off to mimic a mouse click & hold function? I ask this as i use some software for graphic work & it requires to right click & hold for long periods whilst performing other functions to get the desired affect but if i could simple mouse over & press capslock on it would do the click & hold for me so i can do what i wanted to to & then turn capslock off to release the button effect.
So i just found this website a week ago and I thought this might be worth seeing if anyone knows anything about. I've had a Toshiba laptop for about 3 years now, and it came with Vista. About a year ago a friend of mine in IT put Windows 7 on it and i didn't really realize it was bootleg. All works fine but whenever i change my desktop background and turn my computer off, it reverts back to black. I also get a pop-up like once a day reminding me to register, but thats less annoying than Vista so its cool.
I have personalized Window's sound settings so that I only get sounds when I want them for certain occurrences. However, there are times when the sound settings just revert back to Window's default sound settings. No problem resetting my sounds, but it is annoying when the sounds, for no apparent reason, revert back to default.
I have put several e-mail addresses into my Windows Live E-mail folder. Some are Comcast addresses, some Gmail. I have set one of my Gmail addresses as my default e-mail address. This default setting doesn't hold. When I open my e-mail folder and try to send a new email, the default setting no longer shows. This requires that I set my outgoing e-mail address manually, which I should not need to do once I set my default address.
I've got this problem for a while now. Sometimes, out of nowhere my whole computer crashes. And sometimes it doesn't even start up. I've attached one of the latest dumps, the only crash that generated a dump because it's a freeze, not a BSOD or a crash.
It was bad in XP, but seems worse in Windows 7.Clipboard doesnt seem to hold onto last Copied item long at all. I will copy a string of text and if I I dont paste it very soon after it wont paste.Usually I hcopy a piece of text, and if I have to minimize a few windows or do too many keystroke before pasting it gets lost and I have to go back and re-copy it.Its just beuggier than expected for such a nice OS.
My acer extensa 4230-2818 won't hold a charge. I can only operate when plugged into the outlet. I would hate to purchase a new battery ($40) if it's may be something else.
Can someone explain the Windows Build 7601 program to me.I've asked the guy that built this computer for me and he says it's just from an update I installed update 971033 to be more precise and that I could not get rid of.However he did not offer me the product key the program is requesting or any other fix for that matter. The only problems I'm noticing with it are that I cannot hold a desktop background and the constant popups stating that my Windows 7 may not be genuine or may be counterfeit.
I am having a problem with Windows 7 Pro. My machine's slowest functions are waiting for ascreen to scroll, switching between different windows, and other "routine"operation commands. <div> I have run defrags, system optimizers, registry optimizer, removed temp files and cleaned the HDand other things, but the fact remains that my system slows when trying toexecute simple commands like "scroll!" (Have even adjusted scroll from the control panel options).<div> Am running with 2GB RAM, a slow 4500rpm HD of 250GB and anIntel Core 2 processor.
I can't use any commands in the cmd prompt. It says that the command is not a command.I installed a jdk from oracle so I could use Javac but now its the only one that works.
I have been trying to configure a receipt printer, model BTP-R880NP so as to have a center aligned receipt with small margins, but am informed I have to send hex commands to the printer. How do I send these commands from a web page printing a receipt to the USB printer?
When I open the cmd prompt and just type "net" or "bcdedit", I get those errorsMicrosoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. I'm working on a computer and currently removing some viruses. I noticed a couple things,1) Trying to save to certain locations will come up with a permissions denied error. I tried to unzip a file to the desktop and got a permissions denied error.2) Typing commands in the start menu goes to search results instead of straight to that item. For example, typing "control" should bring up the control panel but it goes to search instead. Same with msconfig, appwiz.cpl, etc,
Is there some way to configure Windows 7 to execute commands (such as resolution changing, killing/starting processes and services, etc.) whenever the laptop switches from AC to DC and back? I have been using batterysaver from codeplex.com but it is still in beta and hasn't seen any updates for around 6 months. It is somewhat unreliable and I can't get it to trigger nircmd.exe to lower my resolution when I switch to battery or to raise it when I switch back.I think my best bet would be Task Scheduler, but I don't know how to make a power event a trigger.
I'm running Win 7 64 bit. I used to be able to run commands from the search box(start => search programs and files) This doesn't work any more. Now if I put in cmd or regedit, and hit enter...nothing happens.
I want to create a utility software where i can create my own custom commands like copy, rename, move, delete etc. But i don't have any idea how shouldWhich language i should use to create it?OS Platform : Windows 7
I have a batch file (.bat) that contains 29 lines of commands and REMarks. When I double click on the file name, a command window opens but nothing is executed (commands or REMarks).Within the opened command window (cmd.exe), if I type the name of the batch file followed by RETurn, the commands are executed normally. This used to work under XP and I can'tremember if I ever got it to work since switching to Windows 7. why the batch file (or the shortcut version) just opens a ommand windowbut does not seem to read and execute the contents ?
In Windows 7, I have found erroneous results in executing DOS commands (DIR and MOVE) using the wildcard *. a sample command is:
dir "42013*.LIC > "List 42013 LIC.txt"
This should make a list of all the files in the directory that begin with "42013". But, I get additional files listed that do not begin with "42013" or even contain the sequence of numbers.
