Run Commands Won't Hold?
Nov 9, 2011I recently ran a new program named Power Tool Lite. Now all the commands have disappeared and now the new ones won't hold. When I open Run there's only a blank field where the commands used to be. Is it possible to get them back or if I start the list over again how to make them stay after they are typed in?

Apr 7, 2012Recently I got myself a new set of headphones and they sound great but a bit too great because whenever I hold down any key I hear a rapid clicking sound. The sound isn't very loud but loud enough that it has been annoying me since I got these headphones. Is there any way to disable this clicking noise so that I cannot lose my mind.

Sep 19, 2010I've customized my power setting so that the monitor is set to turn off after 25 min of inactivity. It was working for a several days but just last week, I noticed that my monitor was not turning off as expected. When I looked in the power setting, the "Turn off the display" was set to NEVER.
I changed it back to 25 min; it worked for a few days....but somehow it keeps reverting back to the NEVER. I should add that I have all the OS updates installed and I am the only user on this computer.
Hold Up On Pushing A Windows 7 Image?
Jun 10, 2011Running into an interesting problem and my partner and I can not figure out exactly what is the issue.We are capturing an Image from a Lenovo machine and then pushing back to the same machine for testing. Everything works fine except for the fact that the OS seems to be getting stuck trying to pick the Timezome during one of the restarts.I am looking for really any suggestions of something we may have over looked in settings or answer files etc. We have it set to pick Eastern Standard but seems to just not want to pick it.I should note that if we pick the Timezone manually the rest of the Image works completely fine and joins the domain how we want it to. It simply a problem of getting this pass unstuck.

Taskbar Doesn't Hold Lock?
Nov 7, 2010Solved: Currently on laptop; no problem here, but on my PC the Taskbar (Lock checked) doesn't hold its' locked size. I have "Autohide" enabled and I adjust the size to my liking. It stays that size for a while, but will revert to about half the width of my selection; which was slightly over an inch.

Dec 19, 2011So i just found this website a week ago and I thought this might be worth seeing if anyone knows anything about. I've had a Toshiba laptop for about 3 years now, and it came with Vista. About a year ago a friend of mine in IT put Windows 7 on it and i didn't really realize it was bootleg. All works fine but whenever i change my desktop background and turn my computer off, it reverts back to black. I also get a pop-up like once a day reminding me to register, but thats less annoying than Vista so its cool.

Feb 22, 2010A little background and info: I support a number of people who for one reason or another need to be able to do things a local admin can do like install programs and start services (or more accurately allow a program they're running to start a service). All users are in the local administrators group. The local admin account is enabled (and renamed) so that we as administrators have local access when the machine comes in for service. The machines are joined to a AD domain so that we can control a lot of the security via GPO. Everything worked fine in XP.
We are getting a few different "you do not have permission" errors. When the user tries to run OpenAFS (which starts a service) they get a "you do not have permission" error. There is no way around this error.
Also, when the users try to run Lotus Notes they get a "you do not have permission" error. When we go into compatibility mode and check the "run as administrator" (or just right click and "run as administrator) it works fine, but they have to click the elevated privileges. The program was installed while logged in as the user.
Again, all users are members of the local administrators group. When the local admin account logs in all these programs run fine. This behavior started in Vista and I chalked it up to "vista sucks". Windows 7 so far seems to be great, except that like in vista, members of the local administrators group are not really local administrators. How do I make them true local administrators?
Drag & Drop Works For Hidden Administrator But Not For Administrator User?
Feb 14, 2011I use an old XP app (JetToolbar - available at JetToolBar - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com) and do not want to change but I cant make it work on Windows 7. The application installs and starts up just fine but it is not possible to drag icons/programs/files to the toolbar - I just get the 'no entry' sign (Circle with line through)However, the application runs fine when logged on to the hidden Administrator account. If I set up the application in the hidden Admin account and then log on as a normal admin user and run it from that account, the icons I set up are just not visible.So what do I have to change in my normal user account (member of administrators) to make this drag and drop work?I have tried 'Run as administrator' but that made no difference. Ive read about dropping to 'Run as User' apps from 'Run as Admin' apps but that's not the problem (at least problem occurs when app is run as user or run as admin)

Jul 26, 2011I just installed Windows 7, Comodo, Firefox, and Itunes on a C300 64GB SSD, and noticed that I can't run programs as Administrator (even though I'm logged in as one) all the 'check boxes' are 'greyed' out. I then have to switch users at the start menu and then no more pop up and I do have administrative capabilities.I am not that computer savy but I dont think this is normal. Other than the guest account(which is off), I am the only user. I have been through the control panel inside out and upside down. I am listed as the administrator for sure, in a group, not a domain. I also turned off the password requirement.
