Acer Extensa 4230-2818 Won't Hold A Charge?
Oct 1, 2012My acer extensa 4230-2818 won't hold a charge. I can only operate when plugged into the outlet. I would hate to purchase a new battery ($40) if it's may be something else.

Oct 10, 2011i am trying to get a laptop that won't boot into erecovery (using alt+F10 it gets to it and then just says 'please wait a moment' and it sticks at this point. THe laptop is an acer extensa 5235 and i do not have any recovery discs - it wont start in safe mode or anthing..

Jan 30, 2013I have an Acer Extensa 5620 laptop, which came with an Intel Core 2 Duo Merom T5250 processor (1.5GHz). I'm upgrading the CPU to a Core 2 Duo Penryn T8300 (2.4GHz). Did a bit of research beforehand to determine that my mothorboard supports it, and it does, but only if I upgrade my BIOS (PhoenixBIOS) from version 1.16 to 1.23 or later. So I downloaded the most recent version from Acer's website (Acer Europe - Service & Support, Drivers & Utilities, Downloads, Notebook, Extensa 5620), and got a .zip file containing the following files:
ACERACDC.EXE
CLB-135.bat
CLB-135.ROM
CLB-135.WPH
HFB135US.bld
phlash16.exe

It seems there are several options in this download for flashing ones BIOS. The simplest one, from a bit of googling seems to be to run CLB-135.EXE as administrator from within windows. Before I do this though, I want to know if I've got everything right, since a failed flashing could brick my laptop.One thing that sets off alarm bells is that doing it this way uses the winflash32 utility. Although my laptop came with 32 bit Vista, I'm currently using 64 bit Windows 7. My question is: will this work? Or will I need to track down winflash64? Or, is this a terrible way to flash my BIOS and should I do something else completely?

Sep 19, 2010I've customized my power setting so that the monitor is set to turn off after 25 min of inactivity. It was working for a several days but just last week, I noticed that my monitor was not turning off as expected. When I looked in the power setting, the "Turn off the display" was set to NEVER.
I changed it back to 25 min; it worked for a few days....but somehow it keeps reverting back to the NEVER. I should add that I have all the OS updates installed and I am the only user on this computer.
Battery Won't Charge To 100%?
Jul 8, 2012I have an acer laptop and it has been working great for the past year but now my battery won't charge to 100%. This only happened recently and my laptop is plugged in for awhile but it'll only read to 80%, 2 weeks later; 53% and now its only 28%. The thing is.. my laptop IS charged. when i unplug it, I get my usually lifespan of the battery before i have to plug it in again to recharge and it only charges to x% again. I've tried "draining" my battery and letting it charge again but it won't charge to 100%. Is there anything I can do to make my laptop read my battery correctly again.
*I should add its an Acer Aspire with a 6-cell Li-ion battery and this is the only problem I've had thus far with my laptop

Oct 16, 2012No it's not old, no it wasnt used more than 6 times and i dont keep it in the laptop all the time. I always leave the batter out of the laptop when it isnt being used. When it is out of the laptop it is fully charged. But as of recently it's been telling me that it only charges to 97%, the laptop is only 2 months old.

Jun 10, 2011Running into an interesting problem and my partner and I can not figure out exactly what is the issue.We are capturing an Image from a Lenovo machine and then pushing back to the same machine for testing. Everything works fine except for the fact that the OS seems to be getting stuck trying to pick the Timezome during one of the restarts.I am looking for really any suggestions of something we may have over looked in settings or answer files etc. We have it set to pick Eastern Standard but seems to just not want to pick it.I should note that if we pick the Timezone manually the rest of the Image works completely fine and joins the domain how we want it to. It simply a problem of getting this pass unstuck.

Nov 7, 2010Solved: Currently on laptop; no problem here, but on my PC the Taskbar (Lock checked) doesn't hold its' locked size. I have "Autohide" enabled and I adjust the size to my liking. It stays that size for a while, but will revert to about half the width of my selection; which was slightly over an inch.

Dec 19, 2011So i just found this website a week ago and I thought this might be worth seeing if anyone knows anything about. I've had a Toshiba laptop for about 3 years now, and it came with Vista. About a year ago a friend of mine in IT put Windows 7 on it and i didn't really realize it was bootleg. All works fine but whenever i change my desktop background and turn my computer off, it reverts back to black. I also get a pop-up like once a day reminding me to register, but thats less annoying than Vista so its cool.
