My acer extensa 4230-2818 won't hold a charge. I can only operate when plugged into the outlet. I would hate to purchase a new battery ($40) if it's may be something else.
I have an Acer Extensa 5620 laptop, which came with an Intel Core 2 Duo Merom T5250 processor (1.5GHz). I'm upgrading the CPU to a Core 2 Duo Penryn T8300 (2.4GHz). Did a bit of research beforehand to determine that my mothorboard supports it, and it does, but only if I upgrade my BIOS (PhoenixBIOS) from version 1.16 to 1.23 or later. So I downloaded the most recent version from Acer's website (Acer Europe - Service & Support, Drivers & Utilities, Downloads, Notebook, Extensa 5620), and got a .zip file containing the following files:
It seems there are several options in this download for flashing ones BIOS. The simplest one, from a bit of googling seems to be to run CLB-135.EXE as administrator from within windows. Before I do this though, I want to know if I've got everything right, since a failed flashing could brick my laptop. One thing that sets off alarm bells is that doing it this way uses the winflash32 utility. Although my laptop came with 32 bit Vista, I'm currently using 64 bit Windows 7. My question is: will this work? Or will I need to track down winflash64? Or, is this a terrible way to flash my BIOS and should I do something else completely?
i have putted windows 7 ultimate 64bit operating system on my notebook Acer 5635G. There is a problem in installing video driver for NVIDIA GEFORCE G105M CUDA 512Mb.
before that i was using Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit operating system, and drivers were fine.
Please help me to find compatible driver for my notebook.
I've just updated my Acer Notebook to Windows 7. I've installed all the drivers that Acer supplies for Windows 7.
But what about the drivers that are not supplied? Should I install the ones that Acer supplies for Vista or stick with the 'pre-installed' drivers by Windows 7 ... Everything seems to work with the pre-installed ones.
And how do I check wether or not the Intel Turbo Memory is working correctly?
Ive got them from the acer website for my 6935g and it all installed fine but as i go to set up my prints all 6 scan propetly but at the end it says finger enrollment failed. Anyone managed to get them to work?
This had me scratching my head for most of a night, so I thought I'd share it here. Setting up an HD4850 video card with an Acer P244W monitor on w7-64-rc1. The display picked the max res automatically, correct colour depth (1920x1080x32), but there was a black border of unused pixels on the screen. Going to lower resolutions would fix the issue (but look bad).
Solution turned out to be in image scaling in the Catalyst Control Center (part of the ATI drivers). The default had been set lower than full. Changing this successfully used all the screen real-estate.
i have a laptop Acer Aspire 5515 and i have windows vista I wan't to upgrade to windows 7 RTM my question is i need special drivers ?? i can install vista drivers in windows 7 ? windows 7 search automatically drivers for my laptop ?
I got a problem here. I just installed win 7 on my acer 4736Z laptop. Now, I'm looking for all the drivers for this windows. I've installed almost all the drivers from the resource CD. But I cant installed the intel graphic chipset driver.
I have an Acer Aspire 6920 with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and can not find the drivers (Even from Acer Website and Windows Update) For the following:
-Sim Card Reader
-Fingerprint Reader (and software)
-Media Control (Seems to work, but the volume does not follow the pad properly)
I have been on the Phone with Acer Support due to a battery problem (the battery is not charging) and they say it's due to Windows 7, as opposed to the battery being dead (I just received my laptop back from Acer repair due to the motherboard being dead, who knows how the handled the laptop, I obtainned it back with several deep dinks which where not there when it was shipped) so maybe I need the right driver for it to.
Acer wants me to reinstall their Vista OEM - not going to happen.
i recently put Windows 7 Build 7000 on my Acer 5100 laptop, and i love it. the only problem i am having out of it is i can't get any of my USB's to work on it. i have tried nearly everything that i can think of to try to get them to work, and have succeeded twice, only to be let down later. the first time i got them working, they worked great for about three days. the second time, though, only three hours. If anyone can help me out with this problem i would greatly appreciate it.
