I am using windows 7 professorial for my clients . Usually this PCs are connected to Tv Screen that play some media contents .this media needs to be run under 1920x1080 resolution .sometime we my customer turn off the TV , or unplug the cable it reset the resolution to default like 1280x720 Is there any way to "lock" the screen resolution at 1920 x 1080 and not leave this up to Windows ?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've got Windows 7 Ultimate (x64), my graphics card is an ATi 4670HD and my widescreen monitor is a 22inch Samsung SyncMaster 225MW.
Everything looks and works perfect. When I go to display, I click detect, and ofcourse it finds my monitor and sets it to its native resolutiob (1680*1050.)
But when I restart my computer, it will be set back to 1024*768 and it will be listed as the generic monitor.
The latest ATi drivers are installed on a fresh copy of Windows 7 and there were no hitches at all. Also to add, I've got 2 seperate DVI cables used to make sure the cable wasn't at fault and they both give me the same result.
What is the problem? This is one I can't quite get my head around.
I have an HP G60 Laptop, I have made the factory default reset discs, but when i boot the first one up it tells me that my hard drive has insufficient space to perform reset.how to fix this without getting a new hard drive?

After making some changes to the orientation/positioning of the 2 monitors, I've noticed that a lot of windows are now partially or even completely offscreen. This is especially problematic with MDI programs (programs that have sub-windows inside them, like Photoshop's dialog boxes and palette panes), as there's no way to interact with the offscreen inner windows and bring them back onscreen.
How can I reset absolutely all window positions of every single program? The registry modifications at Folder View Settings - Reset All to Default fixed Windows Explorer and a tiny handful of other programs, but not even WMP and Notepad were fixed.
I have spent the last couple of hours going through each GPO setting to disable as many features for my kids account on Windows 7 ultimate. I saved the file as kids.msc. The only issue is that I want to be able to clear these settings when needed, so that i can fully access the features. View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a Windows 8 laptop, ASUS Q500A, and reformatted it with Windows 7. I went into the BIOS and used "Restore Defaults" and now all Boot Option Priorities are deleted. Each time I boot the laptop, it automatically goes to BIOS (or UEFI). I tried inserting the Windows 7 disc so I can access Startup Repair or Command Prompt but it freezes before it could get anywhere even when I tried it with an external CD/DVD drive. I cannot get the laptop to boot to the hard drive or CD drive at all, how I can reset the boot option priorities so it will be boot to the hard drive again.

Initially, I figured it was a Chrome thing but have since confirmed the issue extends to IE and Firefox, leading me to believe this is a Windows issue. By the time I tried to revert the changes via System Restore, it was too late (restore only went back a few days; maybe I need to adjust settings there?).I tried to reset the default font but Windows does not seem to respond to that. When playing games or open 3d applications the temp goes 30C to 72C (In 15 seconds) then 82C - 85C constant (in about 30 seconds).Now I've been using MSI afterburner to check my temps and at fulload my GPU will be at 62-72C max temperature but now it's 10C even higher then before. No, I haven't fiddled with the voltage I set the GPU voltage to 1.037v which is the safest (been running this almost 8 months!). The GPU is the GTX 560ti.Is there a way to set the GPU on default settings or reset GPU settings in cmd or other professional way. I have uninstalled the drivers, uninstalling GPU, disabled GPU, disabled PCI-E slot and so on by using device manager and the issue still persist. Yes, I also have clean the GPU perfectly and still the temperature goes up to 82 seconds at 30seconds-45seconds. Yes, I have checked everything is set correctly and so on, I am a PC Tech.

I am thinking it's the GPU is damaged or the PCI-E is damaged (I have another PCI-E slot on my system and the issue still there). It might be the PCI-E frequency? but it's set to 100 which it meant to be, I just hope is software related because I don't have the money to buy a new card. Did the dump files help?

The resolution of screen is fine but it is not supporting 1280 x 1024 resolution and videos are not playing properly. It was not taking audio drivers as well but when I ran the SoundMax drivers for XP in compatibility mode they were installed. But display drivers are not getting installed. I even tried the various driver from Nvidia for XP/Vista/Win 7, but none of them works.

I have tried the audiorenderupdater extender but all that does is set default audio out for entire system, so when itunes is used or game is played on computer audio goes through tv. I would like all system noises, media player, and game audio to run through pc speakers and simultaneously all media center audio (recorded/live tv) to go through tv audio, so i can watch sports center while playing mass effect and have audio from sportscenter on tv audio from mass effect on pc speakers.
Also is there a way to separate media player's actions from media center's. For example if you are laying music in media player and then open media center and play a tv show, music playback stops, not a big deal just like media player better than itunes and would like to be able to watch tv in media center while playing music in media player rather than itunes

Now i've read up on a few ways to restore this specific computer, however, I don't have the installation disc, AlienRespawn/DellDataSafe does not appear when press f8 at boot menu, and i don't have a factory system image to recover from apparently. So with this being said, Is there anyway to factory reset? I have a bootable USB drive with windows 7 recovery on it, but I need a system image or something I believe. I've also tried download AlienRespawn Win 7 patch off of alienware.com but when I try to use it it says "Change.MBR failed"

What I want to do now is to put Windows 7 Ultimate back to when I first installed it, as in have it to where I just got done installing Windows 7 Ultimate. Is there a way I can reset the computer to where I will not need the CD or the serial key to do this, because I no longer have possession of the CD or key. AVG 2011 free AV. BT ISP, connected via ethernet cable to Netgear router. No problems installing Windows 7/32, and installing Adobe, AVG, and Win 7 SP1 initiallyDate on PC is correct. This is a wired network using the onboard nic. Started off by seeing security certificate errors. When trying a different router saw in the network and sharing centre that there was no connection to the internet, however strange as it seems I was connected and could do limited surfing, but couldn't for example download Itunes. I then noticed that the network was defined as public. No other PCs on the network now, but XP laptops have been able to connect to the net okayI have been able to change this to work, but PC now won't see the router - when I enter ipconfig, I do not have any connectivity at all.
I have also tried using the netsh command to reset int ip and winsock which were okay but still no joy. Maybe I need to undertake things in a different orderperhaps while not connected? I would really like to go back to starters amd start over, but while on wireless one can do this, there appears no easy way to reset the wired network settings back to original
