i've came here before to know how to do a clean install of windows 7 but now i have an issue, when i booted my computer up and logged on i got a message saying "Disk faliure back up immadiatley" why is this?
View 4 RepliesFirst of all, I wasn't exactly sure where to post this problem, since I have been having so many (I think they're related), but I have been forced to reinstall windows twice now and the problems continue. The first time I reinstalled windows was only because I was having several problems with directx, file corruption, and failed windows updates. Some of my games would crash and give me errors referencing different directx files, and no matter how many times I reinstalled directx or the game itself, I kept getting those errors.
As for the file corruption, about every time I started my computer, it wanted to do a checkdisk, even after it had already done that and "solved" the errors.
The failed windows updates related to the .net framework 4.0 (Or something like that) causing the entire updates to fail every time I turned off my computer. For the most part I ignored this. So I reinstalled windows (first reinstall) and that seemed to solve those mentioned problems except for the checkdisk always wanting to run.
Fast forward a month to just the other day - I was actually FORCED to reinstall windows because it would not even boot up in normal or safe mode, and all my restore points had been deleted somehow. The problems started after I tried to install Terraria, which needed to install the .Net framework 4.0 to work. So once again, the .net framework was causing problems. I solved this by downloading some software that completely removed the .net framework (I think), and letting Terraria configure it itself. This worked, however after a couple hours of playing the game, nothing else did. I turned off my computer, and when I booted it the next day, windows wouldn't load. This is why I reinstalled the 2nd time. Now, I am having many more problems even after a fresh installation. I am getting all kinds of errors on corruption in certain files, my video drivers are failing to install, restore points being deleted, checkdisk is still trying to run (which I am letting it do), windows updates are failing, and both Chrome and Firefox gave me error messages like "Your profile could not be opened correctly" after I installed them. My 1TB hard disk still has about 300gb of space, so space shouldn't be the source of any those problems.
I don't even know where to begin solving these problems, so I am very tempted to format my hard disk. So my question basically is would just completely wiping my HDD and then reinstalling windows from scratch be a good idea, or is the problem beyond that?

I've done reformatting / reinstalling Windows 7 several times, yet the problem still occurs. I'm thinking of my HDD as being corrupted or messed up. Nothing works other than putting in the boot disk and hitting the restart button on the tower. Then it will boot up and run fine. But how do I stop it from having to have the disk in order to load? On the initial screen after pressing the power button, it'll take a while before it detects IDE drives. If I don't disconnect/reconnect them, then at the initial screen it will sit at that screen and will not detect any disk/dvd drive.Does anybody know a proper solution without having to disconnect and reconnect the hard disk/dvd drive as I think that this may not be a good idea?

I detached all hard drives and USB devices except system disk and DVD ROM and still error appears. I booted from installation disk and ran repair and still error appears. I booted again from installation disk and ran next cmd:

The only way to run Windows 7 is to insert installation disk to DVD, wait until message "Press any key to run from cd or dvd", DO NOT press any key and wait. In a few seconds Windows 7 starts.

I manually closed the computer and opened it again afterwards, and the computer started up normally. Today, my computer opened up normally by itself. All Critical errors are event 41, Kernal Power - but I'm sure thats from me hardbooting on the disk failure.
I have 2 computers on a home network (both were running Win XP Pro). Obtained Win 7 Upgrade disk fom Microsoft and installed Win 7 on Machine 1. OK! Now trying to install Win 7 on Machine 2.
Placed disk into DVD-CD drive and drive seems to run. Start/my computer/cd drive shows disk is in drive. Right click/explore. Disk contents appear.
Disk runs but machine hangs up. Nothing happens. Placed disk in cd drive of machine 1 and it performs as it should.
I have updated the driver for disk drive. Other disks which I have tried in the cd drive seem to operate correctly.

I really want to install Windows 7 on this machine so both machines appear the same.
I tried to re-install my windows 7 today, and at first it seemed to be going well, but then it reset me back to the windows DVD install screen and when I try to install windows it gives me this message: Windows cannot be installed to this disk. "This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disks controller is enabled in the computers BIOs menu." I think I need to change some BIOs settings on my motherboard or something but I am really just not sure, it's my first time build and this really is beyond me. If anyone has any experience on what to do or any advice I would be really grateful for it. The HD I am using is a Westinghouse 1T and the motherboard is a ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+.

I can overcome it by putting the IOS 7 disk in the DVD CD drive and let it boot so that I can then run the repair on the computer. I borrowed an OS 7 install disk and the same thing happens. After a series of checking the system I am informed that nothing wrong was found. If I leave the disk in the drive, even through rebooting, the machine runs just fine. If I take the disk out of the drive, I am dead in the water until I put it back in the drive, reboot and let the tests start over again and all is fine.

When I rebooted it said Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter. I inserted the Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate installation disk that I had used to install this copy and the computer booted. Thee black screen with the windows logo showed before the computer did another BSOD. The message read:
"PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED-AREA". I booted the computer again and attempted to do a system repair but it said that the problem could not be repaired automatically. maybe a week or two ago every time i start my computer it showed a black screen and said Hard Disk Failure iminent and have me to back back the hard disk and remove it.

So starting last week, my computer started getting a blue screen. So yesterday it was so bad to the point where it wouldn't load windows at all. So I ran Ultimate Boot CD and it diagnosed the HDD was messed up. So I wiped it clean using Dban and now I'm trying to reinstall Windows 7 Professional but whenever I put the disc in and restart the rig I get a "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"
Oh and if it helps, the rig is only like 6 months old. I did some reading and the only lead I have is to format the HDD and try again. I am also just realizing that I'm a dumbass and should have done system recovery, but too late now.
I got a popup window that says your hard drive failure is eminent backup your computer. so I created a backup disk uninstalled windows 7 reinstalled 7 booted up and got the same message The message reads disk drive failure is eminent back up your computer press f1 to continue. My question is how do I get rid of this message. Tried Dereks boot and knuke and was only able to wipe 15% of the hard drive.
