My brother just bought a Toshiba NB500, its a Notebook running in Windows 7 Starter. And he saw a website that says that the battery capacity can be more or less 8hrs. Then he wants to customize his settings to make it. He already put to the lowest possible level the brightness settings. but it only takes 3hrs. what would be the best possible solution to this? are there still settings that have to be changed?

i cannot install my microsoft lifecam vx-3000 driver software on it....
i have tried to download it of the microsoft website. but it would not download for me. i do not have the disk that came with the cam, because i got the cam with a monitor that i won used on ebay... so i am either asking for an alternitive download for the driver software, or for an alternitive way to install the software.
the windows 7 machine is not currently hooked up to the internet, but it will be by the end of the week for sure... so, any suggestions?

At first, I thought it drained quicker than when Vista was installed but I think I was just speculating, especially since I hadn't had a good night's rest in a few days.
I'm very curious as to whether any laptop users, who have switched from Vista straight to the official release of Win 7, have noticed an improvement in battery life/performance?

2.5 GB Ram
When I had windows vista home installed I could run this laptop on "power-saver" mode for 3+ hours, when I bought it a year ago maybe 4 hrs on power-saver mode. At this setting I have the laptop on the lowest brightness level.
Now with Windows 7 installed my battery lasts about 1.5 hrs on powersaver mode with the brightness turned all the way down. Its been 45 minutes now and it is at 52%.
Is there some kind of Fujitsu battery power software I need to correct this ?

I don't know how it became this way, but I think that I once downloaded the windows 8 preview, installed it, but nothing happened, and I could not detect it on the control panel or in my hard-drive, it just disappeared, and my laptop has not been well eversince. View 5 Replies View RelatedNow, just 3 days ago It started the BSOD issue.I realize that my GPU was the cause of this issue. When playing games or open 3d applications the temp goes 30C to 72C (In 15 seconds) then 82C - 85C constant (in about 30 seconds).Now I've been using MSI afterburner to check my temps and at fulload my GPU will be at 62-72C max temperature but now it's 10C even higher then before. No, I haven't fiddled with the voltage I set the GPU voltage to 1.037v which is the safest (been running this almost 8 months!). The GPU is the GTX 560ti.Is there a way to set the GPU on default settings or reset GPU settings in cmd or other professional way. I have uninstalled the drivers, uninstalling GPU, disabled GPU, disabled PCI-E slot and so on by using device manager and the issue still persist. Yes, I also have clean the GPU perfectly and still the temperature goes up to 82 seconds at 30seconds-45seconds. Yes, I have checked everything is set correctly and so on, I am a PC Tech.
Is the GPU damaged? Yes I have looked at this thread: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try Mainly, I know its the GPU straight away, I tried checking old drivers, new drivers, another GPU overclocked software such as GPU tweak and EVGA Precision. I am thinking it's the GPU is damaged or the PCI-E is damaged (I have another PCI-E slot on my system and the issue still there). It might be the PCI-E frequency? but it's set to 100 which it meant to be, I just hope is software related because I don't have the money to buy a new card. Did the dump files help?
I rebooted my labtop everything came back ok but the webcam application that normally is under utilities i went to toshiba website installed their so called application but it's not doing anything, what can i do to get it back.

To be quite honest I am a little new to overclocking and just wanted to get a few questions answered before I decide to start.clocking from 4.0 GHz to 5.0 GHz. Is this feasible? My main concern is proper cooling and this is where it gets a little complicated, I do not want anything to do with liquid cooling (to be honest, the thought alone is unsettling). Are there any Air coolers that will fit my case (NZXT lexa s) and cool my processor enough to keep it stable at 5.0 GHz? Also, at idle my processor runs at about 12.7 C (around 55 F).

I think it is - boot with windows install disk, enter bios, setup raid0, then do windows install to raid array. I will be adding the 2nd set of ssd's for raid 1 in 3-4 days, and was wondering if there was any benefit to wait on the install, set up both raid 0 and raid 1 before the windows install. The ssd's are all 128 GB, the raid0 on sata III 6 gbs ports, the raid 1 will be on the 3gbs ports.
