Nov 4, 2011She set BIOS password and forgot it? Tried pressing 0 and power on, didn't work.It's Toshiba NB500 -00D with Windows 7 Starter. I can't get past the bios password.

Nov 19, 2011My brother just bought a Toshiba NB500, its a Notebook running in Windows 7 Starter. And he saw a website that says that the battery capacity can be more or less 8hrs. Then he wants to customize his settings to make it. He already put to the lowest possible level the brightness settings. but it only takes 3hrs. what would be the best possible solution to this? are there still settings that have to be changed?

Dec 9, 2012I haven't touched this laptop in a while. I received a virus which then slowed down my computer and made it really really slow to get into the windows log in screen. It wouldn't go past that. Now, 2 months later, I'm trying to install Ubuntu as my only OS. I hope this will get rid of whatever past problem I had. Is this true? The problem with this, is when I power it up and turn it on, the computer only goes to the "Toshiba Leading innovation" H2 BIOS screen. From here, the laptop screen keeps turning black/blank at random intervals (the disk drive kicks up after it turns blank). The screen returns to the BIOS screen... and I keep hitting F12 and nothing.

It does ask for the Bios admin password but I have no idea what that is. I have tried to remove the laptop battery, and the small watch like battery under the keyboard for (30 Minutes), removed the havedrive, and still the same problem. When I remove the battery and only plug in just the power cord it does tell me that the BIOS is invalid, but when it reboots it goes back to defaults and goes back to the user password screen.I cannot get to the BIOS setup windows, change the boot device order, nothing.

I want to enable bluetooth on the laptop, but the Device Manager says it is disabled in the BIOS and to activate it with F10 on boot.. the problem is it asks for a BIOS password and I keep guessing and cant figure out what it is! Is there a simple way to reset the BIOS password or crack it? I took out the CMOS battery and waited 10 minutes, but that didnt do anything.
