Toshiba sent out a bios update. upon download and install I started getting conflicts. I discovered that this manufacturer update installed 32 bit bios into a 64 bit. Where can I get a download to correct this bio fail?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI haven't touched this laptop in a while. I received a virus which then slowed down my computer and made it really really slow to get into the windows log in screen. It wouldn't go past that. Now, 2 months later, I'm trying to install Ubuntu as my only OS. I hope this will get rid of whatever past problem I had. Is this true? The problem with this, is when I power it up and turn it on, the computer only goes to the "Toshiba Leading innovation" H2 BIOS screen. From here, the laptop screen keeps turning black/blank at random intervals (the disk drive kicks up after it turns blank). The screen returns to the BIOS screen... and I keep hitting F12 and nothing.

When the system restarted it goes to Windows 7 with a black screen that says "C: windows system 32configsystemprofiledesktop Refers to a location that is unavailable". From here I have all of the basic buttons but I cannot access anything. I get an error even trying to run regedit. My system ran fine before the bios update. The system setup is as follows: 50GB SSD with Windows 7 installed only..4x 500GB HDD in Raid0 with all user profiles and default save locations set to it.
2x External drives (not to important here just run Ubuntu and a spare drive)When I set the system up I changed all of the registry settings so that windows automatically saved everything to the Raid0 drive. Everything is still on the drive as it has been unchanged but Windows fails to find the desktop settings now.When I looked in the system profile folder there was no "desktop" folder there. I manually created one and got some of my shortcuts on the desktop back but everything is still missing. At system launch I edited all registry settings to point to drive D: as the primary. Maybe something changed there?

Sometimes it happens twice a day, sometimes not for a week. I'm not sure what's causing it, but I'm rather bumped, because I love my current system. Attached you find my BSOD file (the health report is in Dutch, but hopefully you can manage).
My system specs:Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit; Full retail version installed this a half year ago.The original windows was Vista, 32 bit which in turn was updated to 7, 32 bit. After installing extra ram I switched to 64.
I updated my bios on my windows 7 computer. now its telling me i have one day to actvate windows 7. I try to actvate it online but it doesnt work. and the phone busy.
I have a full copy of windows 7 so it should actvate. this is very depressing 1 more day and i wont have a dvr, gaming system and computer. i wont even be able watch cable without ceton card working.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst off I am running Win 7 on a primary SSD, and have 2 1TB HDD in RAID 1 for storage. I have been running this setup fine for a while now. I recently updated my BIOS (P8P67) using the EZ Flash utility from USB per the following steps:
-Restore defaults
-Flash new BIOS
-Restore defaults
-Reset SATA mode to RAID
Everything went fine, and I verified that my BIOS was seeing the 2 HDD as 1 volume. The Intel RAID controller shows the mirrored volume and 2 drives on bootup, all fine. However, when I get into windows, the RAID volume is not listed in the Intel RST software, device manager or disk management.
I currently have an ASUS K53E that I've put a 60GB SSD into. I recently had to send out the laptop for service with ASUS, but I swapped the SSD for the original drive at that time (to save the chance they may re-format the drive).In any case, their repair apparently included a BIOS update... When I got the computer back, I naturally swapped the SSD back into the computer. Since then I've had numerous issues, the most prominent being that WLE stopped working (Every time I load Messenger it inexplicably stops working), and when I attempt to un-install it it will have a problem and abort the removal.With skype, I installed it fine, but it will launch, have a problem, then close! This is extremely frustrating..So really, my first thought is that there is a BIOS-update related issue, because the BIOS was flashed with the other drive in the laptop, and the installation on the SSD was installed/configured before the BIOS flash.Am I looking at a clean install of windows? Or could I get away with just a repair? I'd really prefer not to reinstall if I don't have to (Getting the OEM install on the SSD was hard enough in the first place).

Week ago I bought new SSD drive. (OCZ Agility 3, 2.15 firmware) I made fresh install of OS, newest drivers etc. SSD and my system was working very well but I was disapointed to my SSD-benchmark results. Well I tried to increase performance by updating my motherboard bios. Bios update succeed but it didnt really increase performance of my ssd, new bios reduced writing performance notable. (MOBO = Asus m4a87td/usb, bios v.2001) AHCI is on.
What with that 103424? Shouldnt it be 1024? Previous score over 400 points, now just 300. (disappeared in picture)
Also noticed another problem. I can't boot my comp if I have external drive plugged in. I just can't change my 1st device boot to agility drive in bios because it's not in the list of boot devices. Well I unplug external drive and its working. Also thought that bios update would fix it but it didnt.
