Can't Preview Word Documents In The Preview Pane
Apr 30, 2012I'm using Word 2002 + Windows 7 and can't preview Word documents in the preview pane (although pdf's and webpages work fine). Is there anything I can do?

Oct 10, 2012I do a great deal of video editing and special effects on my Windows 7 (home premium, 64bit) laptop. Many of the stock footage clips I use are .mov files and a lot of the sound files I use are .wav and .mp3. Unfortunately, these files do not preview (They don't play) in the preview pane in Windows Explorer. .mp4 videos do preview, but I have not tested anything else. All of the above mention files play just fine in the standalone WMP. Do I need to download extra codecs to make them work in the preview pane?

May 18, 2012Has someone found a way to make the mail preview pane header smaller as it was in Outlook Express? It occupies so much space that it makes it annoying! If I make it disappear also disappears the possibility to add the sender to recognize it as secure and the link to view images.

Apparently, Windows opens a Winword process to display the file and Windows considers the file "open". With Preview Pane "off", the Winword process quits and the file can then be renamed. Is this a "feature" of Windows or a bug that Microsoft can / should fix?

Nov 30, 2009I just installed Windows 7 and have been unable to preview any Office 2003 documents in the Explorer preview pane. This includes doc and excel files. The preview pane just says "No preview available."
I can view gif, txt, xml, pdf, html, etc. In general, Office is working, i.e. I can create and edit Office documents.
On a related note, I would also like to be able to javascript files which are just plain text, but I'm not sure how to do that.
Outlook 2010 Won't Display All Images In Preview Pane
Jul 11, 2011This just started recently. Most messages come through with images but certain ones, and it seems to be from the same senders, the just have a place marker...the little box with the red X. The pic below is from [URL] If I open the email in another email program, the images are there so it isn't on their side.
I have looked at the Trust Center and that is set correctly.

Apr 4, 2009When I click on an item inthe navigation pane and want to scroll down to a certain folder in the main window, the mouse wheel stays on the nav pane. Have to go and click in the main window to scroll.
If you click the navigation pane, then the wheel should in my opinion default over to scroll on the main pane. It's a little bothersome to have to keep clikckingto scroll after i just cliked to open that item in the navitgation pane already.
confused yet? maybe the pic will better describe it. I know it's not a big deal, but......
Like in the pic i clicked on music folder in the left nav pane, i would want it to scroll over on right without having to click mouse again. Maybe it's a matter of preference, but that's mine.
