This just started recently. Most messages come through with images but certain ones, and it seems to be from the same senders, the just have a place marker...the little box with the red X. The pic below is from [URL] If I open the email in another email program, the images are there so it isn't on their side.
I have looked at the Trust Center and that is set correctly.
I just installed Windows 7 and have been unable to preview any Office 2003 documents in the Explorer preview pane. This includes doc and excel files. The preview pane just says "No preview available."
I can view gif, txt, xml, pdf, html, etc. In general, Office is working, i.e. I can create and edit Office documents.
On a related note, I would also like to be able to javascript files which are just plain text, but I'm not sure how to do that.
How can I remove the search pane in Outlook 2010 on top of the message pane ?

Rebooted, everything working OK.Did a clean Office 2010 (technet rtm) 64bit full install. Imported from backup my pst file and rules, contacts, etc.Outllook works fine except preview handlers. An email showed up today from a person in our company.. date was today, however, the preview pane date had a date in the far future.. View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows 7 (Home Premium 64b) with Office 2010 (Home & Bus) on our new desktop PC. Just finished installing both without problem. Have now turned to adding email accounts to Outlook. I added 4 POP3 accounts, using the wizard. The wizard's test mails - and my own independently sent test mails - have confirmed that send/receive work fine in all 4. One of the 4 has been selected as my default account.
All 4 accounts show up in the navigation pane on the far left of the screen. The default account appears at top, with a black arrowhead to the left of its name. Under it appear the standard list of system-offered subfolders: Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items, Deleted Items, Junk Mail, Calendar, Contacts etc. etc.
The other three accounts are listed below this array. Each of them has a white arrowhead to the left of its name. None of these accounts has any system-offered subfolders (Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items etc) listed under it.
Question -
How do I get Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items and the other system-offered subfolders to appear under these non-default accounts in the Navigation Pane? For example, I know (from viewing the same accounts independently on my laptop) that these non-default accounts are receiving mail; however, I cannot view any of this mail because the Inboxes of these accounts are not accessible from the Navigation Pane. I would like all 3 non-default accounts to at least show Inbox, and - if possible - one of them to also show a fuller menu including Drafts, Sent Items, Deleted Items, Junk Mail etc.
I have looked everywhere in Outlook there is, but can't seem to find the path to the fix (or - if I have found it - I guess I am not recognizing it).
I'm using Word 2002 + Windows 7 and can't preview Word documents in the preview pane (although pdf's and webpages work fine). Is there anything I can do?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI do a great deal of video editing and special effects on my Windows 7 (home premium, 64bit) laptop. Many of the stock footage clips I use are .mov files and a lot of the sound files I use are .wav and .mp3. Unfortunately, these files do not preview (They don't play) in the preview pane in Windows Explorer. .mp4 videos do preview, but I have not tested anything else. All of the above mention files play just fine in the standalone WMP. Do I need to download extra codecs to make them work in the preview pane?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently found I could not rename an MS Word file selected in Windows Explorer while the Preview Pane was "on". Apparently, Windows opens a Winword process to display the file and Windows considers the file "open". With Preview Pane "off", the Winword process quits and the file can then be renamed. Is this a "feature" of Windows or a bug that Microsoft can / should fix?

Before installing Windows 7 and Office 2010, I formatted my hard drive and did a clean install. I am having an issue with previewing JPG files within Outlook 2010 -- when I try to preview JPG files I get the following error message: �this file cannot be previewed because there is no previewer installed for it�. Of course if I double-click the JPG attachment, it instantly opens in Windows Photo Viewer. I can preview ALL other types of attachments within Outlook, just not JPG files. Motherboard: MSI K9AGM2
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
There is a perfectly good 75GB SATA hard disk installed, but when I get to the point in the installation where it asks where I want to install windows I get 'no drives were found'. I have checked in the BIOS so see if it's recognised there, which it isn't. I also tried an XP Home installation just to see what happened and that didn't recognise the hard drive either.I have just formatted this hard drive using DBan and it does work in my other PC. I have also fitted a hard drive from another PC into this computer and that one isn't seen either. I have tried different data cables and different SATA slots on the motherboard and that didn't work.
From my reading on google it seems that this might be a SATA driver issue. Where I have to get drivers from the motherboard's website and then install at the screen where it doesn't see the hard drive and gives the 'load driver' option. I have downloaded different drivers from the MSI website for my motherboard. Some of them have been found, but none have worked in finding my hard drive.

I've been trying to create a Task in Outlook from a Word Document that I have created on this computer. The idea is that a shortcut to the document is created as an Outlook Task. Click on the shortcut, and voila - there is the document.The "Create Microsoft Office Task" icon DOES send the document to Outlook as a Shortcut in a Task, however, when I open the task, Outlook says:"Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments: Shortcut to 'document name'."It's NOT an unsafe attachment; Outlook WILL OPEN this document if I send it as an email attachment. Outlook will open .docx files types.
I am trying to move one pst file from one laptop which has Outlook 2010 32 bit to another laptop which has Outlook 2010 64 bit installed, steps taken 1) Copied the pst file from the User/AppData/Microsoft/Outlook folder to usb. 2) Pasted the file from usb into User/Documents folder. 3) Tried to open the file in Outlook and I get the error that Outlook encountered errors while opening the file. Now how is that possible when the file is working perfectly in one laptop but when I copy and paste it into another it gets corrupted? Is it due to 32 bit to 64 bit outlook? I tried to repair it using scanpst and it brought back few mails?

I'm trying to retrieve archived emails that i backed up on an external hard drive from a previous computer, the files are .pst which is an outlook format but i keep on getting an error message saying the file is not an Outlook data file (.pst). i dont have any other way to retrieve these emails since they were deleted from the server and its about 1.5 years of work emails. Not sure what to do? should i move the files from the external driver to a different location on the computer and open them, or are they corrupted and need to be fixed?

However, this position is a bad default. The panes should be side by side (left and right) not top and bottom. The marketplace is full of inexpensive laptops with good horizontal resolution and poor vertical resolution. It's bad enough some fool thought to split up the least available screen resources with a top and bottom look instead of going right and left side by side. Then, the rest of Microsoft followed along and shipped the product that way.So, is it possible to alter the view so that the social information is to the right or left of my message when open?

However, not all of the folders I have designated for Favoriates is displayed in the left column. When I left click on the word "Favorites," then in the right column the entire list of Favorites folders does display. (Meaning:there's a list of nine folders on the right side, but back in the left column under Favorites only seven are displayed.)I've tried all of the solutions described above and none fixes this problem. If I try to drag a folder from Right to Left, two things happen: (A) A copy of that folder is created on the right side (so I'll see the original and a version with "(2)" after the name; and (B) on the left side, one of the folders that used to be in Favorites no longer displays.I don't know why a copy is made on the Right, but the action on the Left leads me to believe that somehow the left column Favorites is set to display no more than seven (7) items, but I can't find where to change that setting

When I'm putting the mouse over the thumbnail window I see it correctly but the original windows is "transparent" I don't see the information to say that I do not see its contents as I have not clicked on the thumbnail, on other items just drag the pointer over the thumbnail for the full window visible.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and Microsoft Home and Office 2010. Everything was working fine yesterday, but when I came back to work today and attempted to open Outlook 2010, I instantly received a message saying: "Outlook failed to launch in safe mode. Do you want to start repair?" If you try to open it again, it opens a second process of OUTLOOK.EXE*32 in the Task Manager. Here is what I've already tried to do while troubleshooting:
- Restarted the computer
- Performed a MS Office Repair, it completed, rebooted (Did this twice)
- Uninstalled MS Office 2010, rebooted, reinstalled it, rebooted, but same problem occurred
- Verified that the other Office programs work (Word, Excel, etc)
- Tried to run "outlook.exe /resetnavpane"
I'm currently stumped at the moment. I cannot even access the profiles through Control Panel > Mail.
Outlook won't send emails. I get "sending reported error (ox8004010f): The operation failed. An object could not be found." I see other has had the same issue
