I've been having this issue for a while but it hasn't done it for a couple of months. When i'm on a game or doing anything on my pc really, it will randomly freeze up and the last sound note will play over and over. One of the times it happened I recorded the screen (URl)..layer_embedded when this happens everything becomes unresponsive and I'm forced to turn it off at the back. I've tried everything to solve this issue and nothing has worked.
I have a custom built computer that i finished almost a year ago then bout 3 months ago, it start shutting down completely while I was playing The Old Republic no Blue Screens. I thought at first since it was just shutting down and not BSODing it was either my GPU or PSU, I have now replaced both with pretty decent upgrades, and booted some games like counter strike source, minecraft, orcs must die, and still happens.
i am having a serious problem with internet explorer 9 every website i go onto will freeze i will have to recover it numerous times until its working again, i thought it may be a flash problem cause i couldn't play Internet videos page kept crashing, and websites that have a flashed based ad on them where crashing but i've uninstalled flash player and reinstalled, it's the most up to date, i have disabled the hardware acceleration option as thats been mentioned on other boards but the problem still exists.
i had to recover this webpage twice to get it working. i have ran malwarebytes and superanti spyware, as well as windows defender, malware bytes and sas both picked up trojans which have been removed and subsequent scans have revealed nothing else, so i am at a loss as to what may be causing this problem, its the same problem on chrome aswell. sometimes a video will play then the next one won't.
NFS: Most Wanted was running ok, but suddenly it just sorta froze, nothing responded. When I pressed ctrl+alt+del twice the pc behaved like a gentleman and shut down, is Most Wanted known to freeze? or should I be worried about my card, or I'm just being paranoid ?
this first started occurring on monday the 24th, i played a Internet video on firefox and the video lagged with a black screen on the first 1-2 seconds of the video. at around 3 seconds, everything stopped. my cursor, the video, the whole laptop etc. the time was no longer moving on the video and my system time wasn't changing either so i concluded that my laptop was frozen. i waited it out and there was nothing i could do but hold down the power button in an attempt to try and turn.at this point i'm still able to watch Internet videos on chrome perfectly, however... playing a video file from my hard drive produces the same problem. i've tried playing files from both wmp and vlc player, and the same thing happened both times.what i've tried:
- uninstalled and then re-installed my display driver - i tried a system restore yesterday and got a bsod before my laptop even got to shut down - i did a successful system restore to the 22nd via safe mode - searched the web for solutions but couldn't find anything -reinstalling windows (i'm in the middle of doing uni work atm so i'm trying to avoid this) -buying a new laptop (when i get the money)
may be useful:
-i was getting quite a few "low ram" messages from the system on the day that it first occurred, before it first occurred. haven't seen anymore of them, however. -playing 3gp and mp3 files on wmp is fine
i have a lot of issues with age of conan after i switched to Windows 7 from xp, it's got a lot of freeze zones and the fps drops dramatically very often. Things get worse cuz i have other games too that most of them behave quite good with no fps drops and only this one and team fortress 2 are very problematic.
Some of my games are:
company of heroes
need for speed shift
unreal tournament 3
test drive unlimited
street fighter 4
trackmania nations forever
My cpecifications are:
intel core 2 quad 2.4 ghz
nvidia 9600 gso 768 mb
2 gb ram ddr2
I tried running the game in dx9 and dx10 and there was no change; when i run it i have all the settings from dx9 to max but i don't think that causes the problem cuz i ran aoc at max setting in xp and it didn't have any issue at all.
I have a problem running MMORPG games on Windows 7, they are: warhammer online and Aion. At some point during game (could be anything between 5 minutes and hour) the game freezes and speakers start repeating annoying sound (almost always same sound).
Can you please help to understand the nature of my problem and fix it?
I have tried following:
- Run Aion as administrator
- Run Aion in WinXP SP3 compatibility mode
- Disable system notifications for all accounts
- Disable firewall
- Install native windows GPU drivers (prior I had ndvidia latest drivers)
- Use pci network card (I've read about problems with Atheros netwrok cards) and disable built-in one
- Run FurMark test for maximum PC load
- Run BurnIn test to load: CPU, GPU, RAM, Network card, Hard drive
- Disable memory remapping in bios
What I have learned:
- I usually set up burn in test to run for 6 hours. All tests before I replaced newtwork card whcih did not stress it were successful. Two of two tests which stressed newtwork card result in same freeze. After network card replacement two tests whcih also stressed network card were successful.
i keep getting BSODS,Freeze,Crash when playing games, watching some videos......it happened after someone tried to install a game after he played it for some few mins it started to crash, freeze and bsod. Unfortunately even after we formatted our laptop it still crashes whenever playing games or videos but it rarely happens when watching videos but the real concern is that it crashes sometimes now and then randomly when using a lot of memory or not...
I have started playing Guild Wars 2, after the first couple of days my game started to freezing and black screen to desktop before going back into game to only black screen again. At times my monitor would say no signal. The problem disappeared for close to 5 days and came back up again. I've tried playing other games and the problem is similar, freezing to desktop, black screen and crashing to desktop.During the black screen to desktop I would get 'Display driver stopped responding and has recovered'. I have updated to a few different drivers including the latest stable driver from Nvidia but the problem still exists.I have ran VMT for 10 passes with no errors.
Prime95 Small FFTs for over 2hours with no errors.Running FurMark the test does complete when I run BenchMark(user's setting) when I do the Burn In-Test everything looks okay until my GPU hits 80c. The computer would shut off then. Though when I play games my gpu varies between 50 to 62c[CODE]
i've been getting occasional screen freezes and more recently BSOD, mostly when playing gamesyou can offer from the files i have attached as i'm not able to read any of the crash dump files.
Often, when I start up a game, it decides to crash my whole system resulting in a blue screen. Do note, however, that it has also crashed when not in a game, but only once or twice. My first thought was the ram, as it was and is giving a lot of memory errors, so I ran memtest for over 10 hours with no failures. My next thought was the CPU, so I ran prime 95 on blend and small ftt tests for over 8 hours which also proved to be stable. Next was the HDD, and I did everything from examining the SMART info to a long generic test. GPU was my last hope, but Furmark doesn't phase the card, and I even ran MemtestG80 which supposedly tests the GPUs memory as well. I do realize these tests are not the end all, and there could be a problem with any one of them that the tests didn't find. I have also reinstalled Windows Something curious happened when I ran memtest the other day. I had one stick in and left the room for a few minutes, only to come back to 7k+ errors. This was it I thought, I finally found out what was causing it. I wanted to test it again to make sure it wasn't a bug in the software, but it ran for 8 hours with no errors. So I'm lead to believe it's the ram, motherboard, memory cache, or psu. I am leaning away from the psu based on the fact that I get lucky and am able to play Skyrim on Ultra with no issue.I have attached several recent minidumps for anyone who is able to understand such things.
Computer games make my Pc crash. This happens about 10-15 minutes after I start any game. However, most games only crash when the window fits the whole screen and some games crash whenever it fits the whole screen AND whenever the game is resizableFor example, whenever I play Runescape in fullscreen, it crashes in about 10 minutes after I start the game. This doesn't happen whenever I have it in a resizable window. However the game, Minecraft, crashes in fullscreen AND in a resizable window.I already tried updating my drivers but according to my computer, my drivers are all updated to date. Here are my specs:Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.110408-1633)Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.System Model: Inspiron 580 BIOS: Default System BIOSProcessor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 650 @ 3.20GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHzMemory: 8192MB RAMAvailable OS Memory: 8120MB RAMPage File: 4620MB used, 11616MB availableWindows Dir: C:WindowsDirectX Version: DirectX 11DX Setup Parameters: Not foundUser DPI Setting: Using System DPISystem DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)DWM DPI Scaling: DisabledDxDiag Version: 6.01.7600.16385 32bit UnicodeSound Tab 1: No problems found.Input Tab: No problems found[CODE]
The computer has worked great for years with 2x1 GB of OCZ PC 500 memory. I added 2 more sticks for 4x1 GB of OCZ PC 500 memory, all are matched sticks. The computer crashes to the desktop while gaming. Memory passes MemTest86, several passes with Hardware/Software memory hole enabled. One other thing, at this time I am using Windows XP 32 and what started this upgrade to 4 GB is I'm getting ready to install Windows 7 Home 64.

Is Windows 7 . . . - x64 - It is an original installed OS on the system - Full retail version? - What is the age of system (hardware)? Hardware is less than 2 years old - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?)
Blue screens occurring during game play, sometimes right away, sometimes after a few hours. was running crossfire HD 6870's. but stepped back to 1 to try and remedy blue screens.. was not successful. tried both cards separately. removing drivers complete, as well as a clean wipe of the OS.
It can happen instantly when I load up minecraft or not at all after playing arkham city for 2 hours. Ive ran memtest for 9 passes with no error. Ive made sure all my drivers are updated. Im on my second video card, because I thought that was the issue initially and gave me an excuse to order a newer one. I flashed the bios to the newest version I found and the errors stopped for about a month or so, long enough for me to throw away my boxes. I dont know what else to do. I appreciate any help. File requested for new thread is attached.
