Gateway Is Not Available - Internet Turning On And Off
Jan 26, 2011I am having the problem namely the gateway issue with internet turning off and on. I've tried with the disable Bonjour service thing but I cant find the Bonjour service at all so I guess I don't have it. Then I've read that you should update your driver and I just need a tip which driver I should get.

I am connected to the internet via a wireless router and an extender...The connection was good and had a strong signal. Now it is off and on, mostly off. When I can get a connection, it sometimes lasts only as long as it takes to click on a link. Then no service... I seldom have a connection for more than a few minutes at a time. I have seen several error messages when I trouble-shoot. The one I see most often is "The default gateway is not available'.

Nov 28, 2012I do school online and I cannot stay connected to the internet with this computer. I have a TOSHIBA SATELLITE L675 with Windows 7 on it. I have done troubleshooting with Comcast who is the cable company I'm through and they said everything is fine and I should have no issues.When I am on the computer for a few minutes I get the status bar on the bottom with the yellow triangle and exclamation point. When I have windows troubleshoot it all it says is, DEFAULT GATEWAY NOT AVAILABLE.

After a minute or so of initial use, it stops working and when I run the troubleshooter it discovers that the default gateway is not available and then it says that it has fixed the problem. However, after only a minute or so more, the internet once again fails. I have tried the "run>cmd>enter>ipcongfig>enter" and found that the numbers for the default gateway are the same on my laptop as for a laptop that does work.

Sep 14, 2012My internet connection keeps dropping, when I run the diagnostics it comes back showing the problem as the "default gateway is not available" and showing it being fixed, but then it will happen again a few minutes later. I have been Googling the issues in hopes of finding a solution but nothing I have tried from what I've found has worked. My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L645 and I'm using a wireless connection to a Motorola SBG6580, this is the first time I've had this particular issue since purchasing the computer almost 2 years ago.

Sep 9, 2011My husband's laptop has Win7 Home Premium 64-bit on it. We were traveling all summer so when we returned home this week I went online with his computer to download and install all of the updates that had come out since we'd left in early May. These downloads included SP 1.
Everything appeared to install correctly and all of the other programs are operating correctly. The only thing is that he's unable to connect to the internet with IE 9 now. It was working fine the first few days we were home until I decided to download and install all of the updates. Since he was unable to get online with IE 9, I decided to download and install Mozilla FireFox 6.0.2 to see if that would work. He was able to get online with FireFox so I just figured that something got corrupted with IE 9. Just for the heck of it, I tried once more to get online with IE 9 and it worked fine. That was a couple of days ago, but he wasn't able to get online all day yesterday or so far today with either FireFox or IE. He's successfully connecting wirelessly to our router, but both IE and FireFox just keep saying that they're trying to connect. We're not trying to use both of the programs at the same time.

I cannot connect to my wireless network. Other computers on the home wireless network work fine. This makes me suspect a failed wireless adapter card in my PC. I did not check Device Manager for a bad adapter before I ordered "Shutdown".
Can I power off the PC anyway? Will something bad happen if I do? If I shutdown and power back up, what can I do to fix the "No Network Access" problems and go on line? Troubleshoot adapter through Device Manager? Any other ideas or precautions?

Jan 19, 2012I installed a new wireless adapter yesterday in the hope of increasing my internet speed. After installing the driver for the adapter I realised that my internet was no longer working. I can still see the connection but it is limited and doesnt allow me to connect to the internet. I also had a system up date the night before and hadn't been on the internet since that happened so am unsure if this has any part in it.I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for both the adapters i have to no avail, as well as plugging my pc into a laptop and using internet connection sharing which also doesnt work.If i run a network repair i end up with two problems found:

Internet Connection Is Strange After Installing Wifi Usb Stick
Apr 29, 2012I connected it, installed drivers (Rlink or RaLink, basically chinese noname) and tried to set up the hotspot. It worked, but my android phone was stuck at "Obtaining IP address". So I installed Connectify, set up Internet connection sharing from the main adapter to the wireless adapter and it worked fine.
But since then the internet connection is wonky, for example right now I'm downloading 350MB file for the fourth time because it had always been interrupted. And the download usually stops for 10-15 seconds, then downloads really fast and stops again. I use Backblaze for backup and I can see the the average upload speed is 0.13mbit/s, before it was cca 0.35mbit/s.

Nov 4, 2012My computer has had sporatic blue screens at the end of windows 7 bootup. The diagnostic tools will not run. Gateway recovery management will run, but when I select the option for a restoration, it says my hard drive is not in the factory default (and aborts). I'd like to just restore the computer--any ideas on how to reset the hard drive factory default or to get around this error?
