I've been having a lot of problems with torrenting lately. I tried to figure out why I kept getting BSOD's from simply installing the torrent applications on my computer. It all started when I needed a new hard drive. I bought a Seagate HDD at Best Buy back in October. After installing everything that I needed to on my computer, I started having problems. I would constantly get blue screens which I couldn't figure out for a long time.
I've got two laptops. The one I'm primarily using is a Samsung QX411 with Windows 7 64-bit and the other is an ASUS X53U with Windows 7 64-bit. Both not running torrents and ended up with constant BSOD's. I took the Samsung in to Best Buy and they told me I had 29 viruses, even with my virus protector giving me no warning of having a single virus on my computer. After downloading uTorrent, I apparently had this weird uTorrent toolbar, which, I believed, at the time, that what was driving the viruses. I've never had a single problem with torrents or uTorrent ever up until now.
I downloaded uTorrent off of their website. I even tried Bittorrent but that ended up with these apparent "viruses" as well. Somehow, this StartNow toolbar, known for vicious viruses, had been added to my computer without my knowledge and this other strange toolbar that gave me a weird homepage with virus ads below a Bing search bar in the center.
Evidently, the new Seagate HDD I bought for the Samsung did fail and I ended up having to get a new one replaced and installed. I lost everything on my computer. Now I'm using a the 2nd new HDD and it's already given me problems with BSODs. I wanted to see if I could transfer the uTorrent over from the ASUS since it's no longer having torrent or blue screen issues instead of downloading it from uTorrent's website and it still gave me another BSOD.
I took it back into Best Buy recently and they told me that I had 49 viruses this time completely out of no where since everything on my computer was completely brand new and they removed uTorrent off of my computer once again. I haven't had a single problem since they removed it but I just don't understand what I can do about the Blue Screening. I can't use these Blue Screen applications to recognize what's causing the problem since every time I get a BSOD, it says failed to create dump files.
Using windows 7pro, 64bit, oem version. Whenever i use the above sites i get the bluescreen. I have ensured (as far as i am aware) that my drivers are up to date. Attached in the zip file are the logs etc.
I am getting BSOD while running bit torrent . i have tried with older version of bit torrent as well, but end up with same problem. Here are the system Spec information x64 Interlcore2 Duo CPUOriginal Installed OSOEMAge of system - 2 and 1/2 yearAge of OS installation - 2 and 1/2 yearAntivirus - Kasperskey internet security
in a last couple of months I constantly get BSOD everytime I try to install utorrent, regardless what version it is. I tried to find an answer on utorrent forums but i did not so I am trying to find it here. I tried verifier, after verification, it showed that NDIS IM driver aswebr.sys should be verified and when I click on finish, it says "No options changed" and it still remains unverified. It suppose to be a problem with Realtek ethernet drivers but I installed latest using Live Update. Can you help me verify aswebr.sys without having to reinstall whole Windows 7 Ultimate that I have?
Recently I installed the new Windows 7 Ultimate x64 to my computer and since then I'm having the same problem.Every time I try to download something via utorrent or bit torrent I get a BSOD with the indication ''driver not less or equal''.I have a TP-LINK Gigabit PCI Network Adapter (Model no.TG-3269).
I am getting BSOD after 5 - 10 mins of torrent client startup (Netio.sys ). I face no issues when the torrent client is not running. I tried updating drivers and installing a different torrent client but the issue still persists...
I have uploaded the crash dumps and the snapshot of the BSOD.

Occasionally get some BSOD, but for reasons, now I have BSOD i cant explain for myself. uTorrent can seed for some time, but if I leave it ,i find it with the following BSOD. I doesnt do it right away, after sometime. check screenshot.
My friend's computer have many crash always with bug check code 0x00000124. For example today he has 8 BSOD! I've attach here the dump analyze from MEMORY.DMP (500mb of it) and SF Diagnostic Logs. I've run a Prime95 test and appear pass it. I've reinstall the OS (Windows 7 Ultimate x64) with all update drivers, and update the firmware too. At the moment I can't run Memtest because don't have an empty CD / USB.

So since I've ran Error PC I can't download torrents to bit torrent. It pops up the "Can't open this File" box and when I click on use a web service it takes me to Final Torrent. When I manually choose Bit Torrent from the "Choose a Program" option it does nothing. That Error PC screwed up every damn setting on my computer
Someone is giving me their older computer, with pretty unimpressive specs. The only thing I'm concerned about is the 512MB of memory. On the other hand, I'm only planning on using the computer to act as a torrent and backup "server."
Will I have any issues running Windows 7? How about 64-bit, which allegedly requires 2GB of memory minimum? If I can't run it, it's not a big deal, but I was hoping to have all my systems running Windows 7.
I have just upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate x64, I had no problems installing Win 7 (fresh Install) The computer is a I5 2500k, Asus P8P67 m/b, GTX 560ti GPU, 8g ram, OCZ 120gb ssd, I haven't connected the 2 tb storage just yet, Not sure if you need that info or not.The Problems seems to be that the Browsers are very slow or may not even load a page. I loaded Utorrent to see if the connection was dropping in and out but while downloading it stays at a steady rate. Which would rule out the Connection to the internet I would assume.
1. I have turned of anti virus still the same.
2, I have turned of firewall and still the same
3. shot myself and it still the same
4. turned of Microsoft Security Essentials still the same
5. Also done a fresh install of windows just to make sure
6. Was connected to a server, but i have bypassed that, Now connected straight to the modem/router.
I have a D-Link Dir655 connected to a DSL-526B ADSL2 modem. The pair are bridged. This configuration has been running fine for a year.4 days ago I reinstalled windows 7 x64. Now, when I download torrents the connection drops after 15 - 30 minutes, and comes back up 1 - 3 minutes later. When the connection drops it takes the modem connection down; every device connected to the internet drops. When I had reinstalled I upgraded all my programs to the latest versions, but I have since rolled them back to the versions being used prior to reinstalling. The download program is call FreeDownload Manager. It includes a bit torrent client. This have never exhibited any problems before.I also use Malwarebytes with realtime protection, and this blocks various sites. This is typical behaviour, and again has never been a problem.
This time when I resinstalled, I uninstalled WIndows Tablet components, Windows Search and disabled the Program Compatability Service, after reading sites like BlackViper. I have since reinstalled and re-enabled all these features.I also turn of Remote DIfferential Compression, but again, that's been off for many months.
windows 7 professional keeps freezing randomly whenever i am downloading anything or is Internet is streamed. i have seen this issue posted on here before and someone mentioned a solution:[code]
I recently upgraded from Windows Vista Business to Windows 7 Professional. The problem I am having is that my Seagate Freeagent 1TB drive wont load in Windows 7. I have to keep going to Device Manager and Uninstalling the driver and then plugging it back in so it automatically installs itself and then when I shut down the computer I have to do the process again.
I thought things that worked with Windows Vista were supposed to work with Windows 7.
Any solutions or help on this problem would be appreciated. PS I have already tried installing newer drivers, I have the latest ones, and I know this is a software issue as I am able to access the drive as normal after re-installing it each time.
Recently my PC just randomly crashed and upon restart, would not barely get past POST screen and get stuck on "Detecting IDE Drives...". I isolated the problem to my Seagate main drive. I went into diskpart and tried list disk, but the drive would not even display there. Does this mean my drive is pretty much dead?
Seagate provides a FREE download of their Seagate DiscWizard It is Acronis True Image, but slightly tweaked for Seagate.I have used it many many times for XP, and it is fairly 'idiot proof'.I cannot say the same for Windows 7 Imaging.Creating the image is 'idiot proof'Restoring the image is a mental challenge for me.Say I had just one partition on a drive, and I create an image. When you try to restore an image, you have to choose from three checkboxes
- CMD 100 MB - OS (your real partition) - MBR
there should be one box that you could tick to restore my simple one partition drive, BUT THERE AIN'T So I have to decide which of the three checkboxes to tick I would like to tick the lot, BUT YOU CAN'T You can only tick one at a time.I do not know which one to do first. And if that was not enough of a problem, you have to decide whether to make it Active
(Do I make the CMD Active ?) (Do I make the OS Active ?) (Do I position the CMD Hard left) (Do I position the OS hard left)
And if that was not enough of a dilemma, You are given two ways to Restore the other two checkboxes
- You can do a mini reverse (Before allowing the Restore) to tick one more checkbox, OR
- You can Restore each checkbox one at a time.Either way, you still have to decide on making each Active, and 'hard lefting'.Needless to say, I got it wrong, and am about to delete all the partitions (CMD apparently being considered a partition) and try Restoring again.
i had to re set my pc to factory.when i plugged in my seagate ext hard drive, i cant view my documents anymore. it keeps saying i dont have permission to access the folder...i have tried renaming me as the administrator, but my head is a bit messed up with it now,, i'm not what you call a technical pc person
I recently purchased a usb 3.0 enclosure from silverstone model ts07b and a new 2 tb drive from seagate model ST2000DM001; the usb 3.0 card is from syba model SD-PEX20093. The problem I am having is that when I plug the enclosure into the usb 3.0 slot with the seagate hdd the computer does not recognize it, but when I plug in another 2tb drive from WD (caviar green wd20ears) the computer recognizes it. I know the seagate is not dead because when I plug the enclosure into a usb 2.0 slot the computer recognizes it. Now I need to know what I should replace, should I get a new enclosure or pci card?
I had a 2 TB, and 3TB Seagate Go HDs and decided they would be best used as internal drives, turns out they both crashed completely upon SATA connection in the motherboard, I first guessed probably due to the difference in boot record. Upon reformatting in NTFS, I have found that the drives run very sluggish, I have been debating on just buying a new USB drive and copying my files, then getting rid of these 2 HDs. This doesn't make sense to me as I used to think all HDs were the same, does anyone know any reason why these 2 external drives are killing my system performance after they were made into internal drives (also why would they completely crash before).
Quote: Seagate has confirmed plans to release a 3TB hard disk drive later this year. However, the 3TB drive will only be recognized by 64-bit operating systems, such as Windows 7, Vista and Linux. "Not only that, but you may not even be able to see 2.1TB of a 3TB drive when using Windows XP," wrote Thinq's Ben Hardwidge Read More: Seagate says 3TB drive requires 64-bit OS | TG Daily
In Windows 7 RTM I have had trouble with one of my two HDs, a Seagate 300 GB. During Windows 7 installation, installer "could not find drivers" when the Seagate was the first SATA drive. Once the Western Digital drive was set as the first drive, system installed ok.
After installation, the Seagate shows in the Disk Management as 300 GB, but if look at contents with Explorer, it has only 125 GB capacity. Can this be a Seagate firmware problem? (Windows 7 RC earlier had no problems with this drive when the system had Win7RC + Vista + XP.)
I have a new computer with windows 7 been used freeagent fine with old computer, but when I try to backup(restore) old files or sync it keeps telling my I need to reconfigure as I have vista?? is windows 7 really vista, I was able to move old quicken files but not itunes or outlook files?
I must be missing a step somehow, and I'm not so tech savvy anyways, but.. I have an '08 dell xps 420, recently installed win7 ultimate x64, have 6GB ram, backed up oem internal to 2tb external, also did windows easy transfer copy to ext, now replacing oem hitachi 750mb internal w 2 1tb seagate barracuda hd's...booting from cd-rom drive works fine, but cannot seem to get raid0 config worked out nor load drivers for drives.
how i can search for torrent files with windows 7 search function?when i look for my downloaded files (downloaded via µtorrent),then i can i only find my downloaded files, but no torrent files(the torrent file still exists in my µtorrent program,so i am sure i still have the torrent file).
