View 2 RepliesI have a D-Link Dir655 connected to a DSL-526B ADSL2 modem. The pair are bridged.This configuration has been running fine for a year.4 days ago I reinstalled windows 7 x64. Now, when I download torrents the connection drops after 15 - 30 minutes, and comes back up 1 - 3 minutes later. When the connection drops it takes the modem connection down; every device connected to the internet drops.When I had reinstalled I upgraded all my programs to the latest versions, but I have since rolled them back to the versions being used prior to reinstalling.The download program is call FreeDownload Manager. It includes a bit torrent client. This have never exhibited any problems before.I also use Malwarebytes with realtime protection, and this blocks various sites. This is typical behaviour, and again has never been a problem.
This time when I resinstalled, I uninstalled WIndows Tablet components, Windows Search and disabled the Program Compatability Service, after reading sites like BlackViper. I have since reinstalled and re-enabled all these features.I also turn of Remote DIfferential Compression, but again, that's been off for many months.
i am using bsnl broadband the internet speed is fast about 200kbps wen i downloading in torrent its make very very slow..pc os is windows 7?
View 21 Replies View Relatedwhen i open any webpage in firefox or ie8, it only sometimes loads. half the time, the progress bar will sit about halfway loaded, then eventually give a cannot connect to webpage error, and then when i refresh it will load almost instantly. the second problem is streaming of any sort, and downloading. streaming from any site, no matter how "fast" it is (Internet vs, say, msn), takes forever. i click play, it will buffer 1 second...play one second...buffer for 15 seconds and gain about 3 seconds of playable material.
occasionally, it will completely stop buffering and i will have to refresh the page to try again. also, something strange on Internet for me is that i have to wait until the video is completely done buffering to click on any other links on the page. for example, if i am watching x video, i have to wait until it is done buffering to click on and have y video successfully load. then it just repeats the buffering issue again. note that i can use "copy link location" options in firefox, restart the browser, and then paste it back in to get it to load without having the first video buffer all the way (sorry if that was a bit confusing, it's an odd problem).
downloading aspect is that it will start out fine (still with cruddy download speeds, 230 kb vs advertised 10 mb), then drop to 0 kbps and then eventually give me a cannot read source file. this applies to everything, essentially, from Internet (i download the videos to watch instead of waiting 30 minutes for a 2 minute video to load), to rapidshare and mediafire and even simple driver downloads. i think that is everything, if i remember something else i'll edit it ;p
i can't test the connection with an ethernet cable until basement construction is finished, and i can run an ethernet cable up from the new media center to my room. i am using the adapter "atheros 802.11 a/b/g/n dual-band wireless network module" that came installed with vista x64 on the original computer, which i upgraded to windows 7 and installed the "original atheros wireless lan driver" for windows 7 found here, which i then updated with driver-genius professional edition to the most recent version (yeah, i actually paid money to try and get this fixed...).
the only other thing i can think of which may be an issue, if the build of windows 7. every except the network is fully functional, so i am pretty sure that's not it. here is a ss just to be sure.

edit #1: i have a laptop, from hp, with vista x32 on the same network. runs beautifully, buffers fine, nice download speeds, and all the extra fluff that you can add to this list. but it has a different adapter, so that's why i'm thinking something is going on with the atheros. if you think that's the problem too, can you point me to a good non-usb wireless adapter?
Running web-based flash games has no effect.
Playing Flash videos in either regular or full screen will freeze PC to a point I have no option but to hard boot.
Long-term gaming has no issues, nor does long term PC "on-time".
An annoying "humm" is all i get besides a completely frozen desktop.
I have tested both IE 8, both 32bit and 64bit, and Firefox 3.55 32bit.
I have used the tools available from adobe to remove former versions, and reinstalled the newest available.
I came across a couple "tweaking solutions", but neither of which have worked.
1)disable java in firefox
2)disable hardware acceleration in Flash
I even went on to allow unlimited storage within flash for the sites i watch the most.
The videos can last anywhere from 2 seconds upwards of 30 minutes. No mouse movement, nothing else running, besides Comodo Firewall. (which I hope isn't the problem).
The last 2 things I have NOT tried yet is updating my BIOS, and a clean install. (original install was clean though)
This PC is a homebuild, and a completely new machine to me. SO i have yet to refine which drivers work best for me. It is only about 2 weeks old.
Using windows 7pro, 64bit, oem version. Whenever i use the above sites i get the bluescreen. I have ensured (as far as i am aware) that my drivers are up to date. Attached in the zip file are the logs etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am currently using Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit edition and just recently whenever I am downloading anything my computer will freeze for around 2 seconds and the download connection will restart to 0.00mb/s then start to connect back up to its full speed again. This happens I'd say around every 15 minutes and has started to become very annoying as you can imagine as a large file can take hours to download when it should only take half the time.

I tried to find an answer on utorrent forums but i did not so I am trying to find it here. I tried verifier, after verification, it showed that NDIS IM driver aswebr.sys should be verified and when I click on finish, it says "No options changed" and it still remains unverified. It suppose to be a problem with Realtek ethernet drivers but I installed latest using Live Update. Can you help me verify aswebr.sys without having to reinstall whole Windows 7 Ultimate that I have?

I've been having a lot of problems with torrenting lately. I tried to figure out why I kept getting BSOD's from simply installing the torrent applications on my computer. It all started when I needed a new hard drive. I bought a Seagate HDD at Best Buy back in October. After installing everything that I needed to on my computer, I started having problems. I would constantly get blue screens which I couldn't figure out for a long time.
I've got two laptops. The one I'm primarily using is a Samsung QX411 with Windows 7 64-bit and the other is an ASUS X53U with Windows 7 64-bit. Both not running torrents and ended up with constant BSOD's. I took the Samsung in to Best Buy and they told me I had 29 viruses, even with my virus protector giving me no warning of having a single virus on my computer. After downloading uTorrent, I apparently had this weird uTorrent toolbar, which, I believed, at the time, that what was driving the viruses. I've never had a single problem with torrents or uTorrent ever up until now.
I downloaded uTorrent off of their website. I even tried Bittorrent but that ended up with these apparent "viruses" as well. Somehow, this StartNow toolbar, known for vicious viruses, had been added to my computer without my knowledge and this other strange toolbar that gave me a weird homepage with virus ads below a Bing search bar in the center.
Evidently, the new Seagate HDD I bought for the Samsung did fail and I ended up having to get a new one replaced and installed. I lost everything on my computer. Now I'm using a the 2nd new HDD and it's already given me problems with BSODs. I wanted to see if I could transfer the uTorrent over from the ASUS since it's no longer having torrent or blue screen issues instead of downloading it from uTorrent's website and it still gave me another BSOD.
I took it back into Best Buy recently and they told me that I had 49 viruses this time completely out of no where since everything on my computer was completely brand new and they removed uTorrent off of my computer once again. I haven't had a single problem since they removed it but I just don't understand what I can do about the Blue Screening. I can't use these Blue Screen applications to recognize what's causing the problem since every time I get a BSOD, it says failed to create dump files.
Someone is giving me their older computer, with pretty unimpressive specs. The only thing I'm concerned about is the 512MB of memory. On the other hand, I'm only planning on using the computer to act as a torrent and backup "server."
Will I have any issues running Windows 7? How about 64-bit, which allegedly requires 2GB of memory minimum? If I can't run it, it's not a big deal, but I was hoping to have all my systems running Windows 7.
how to have Bit-torrent STOP doing searches using Bing? Everytime I do a search for anything, Bing shows up w/its results, how do I change this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate x64, I had no problems installing Win 7 (fresh Install) The computer is a I5 2500k, Asus P8P67 m/b, GTX 560ti GPU, 8g ram, OCZ 120gb ssd, I haven't connected the 2 tb storage just yet, Not sure if you need that info or not.The Problems seems to be that the Browsers are very slow or may not even load a page. I loaded Utorrent to see if the connection was dropping in and out but while downloading it stays at a steady rate. Which would rule out the Connection to the internet I would assume.
1. I have turned of anti virus still the same.
2, I have turned of firewall and still the same
3. shot myself and it still the same
4. turned of Microsoft Security Essentials still the same
5. Also done a fresh install of windows just to make sure
6. Was connected to a server, but i have bypassed that, Now connected straight to the modem/router.
I am getting BSOD after 5 - 10 mins of torrent client startup (Netio.sys ). I face no issues when the torrent client is not running. I tried updating drivers and installing a different torrent client but the issue still persists...

I get the BSOD while seeding in uTorrent mutliple files. I have a stable notebook, never got an issue for years. Occasionally get some BSOD, but for reasons, now I have BSOD i cant explain for myself. uTorrent can seed for some time, but if I leave it ,i find it with the following BSOD. I doesnt do it right away, after sometime. check screenshot.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had been using my ReadyNAS Duo Mk1 NAS with my Windows 7 32 bit PC (running an i5-2500k with 8g memory) for a while with no problems.It streams to my WDTV Live Media Player over ethernet & works perfectly with no problems at all even with 19g 1080p files.I decided to change to Windows 7 Prof 64 bit and did a clean install.It all works fine except when I try to stream from the Duo to the PC by double clicking on a movie, again over ethernet (just to check on files) is stutters on the larger files, in places with plenty of action, which it used to play fine before in the 32 bit version.If i copy the file to the PC it plays perfectly.It copys from the Duo to the PC at around 200Mbps, and when it's streaming to the PC at around 10 Mbps.I have tried Media Player Classic Home Cinema & VLC which both have the same stutter when steaming.

This is my media computer with all my movies and TV shows that my 4 other XP computers pull from for viewing.I set up a workgroup, see it fine from the XP computers and can start watching shows on the xp machines but after 8-15 minutes the stream crashes. I boot back into XP on the media computer and stream is fine forever. I"m using Nero 8 for the viewing on the xp computers. Have searched the internet with no solution.

And now, the Xbox refuses to speak to the PC.They are both on the same network, using the same router, and I have changed nothing on the PC itself, except that when I first plugged the network cable in, Windows asked me to tell it which group to join (I selected Home). The xbox is happily detecting the network and the internet, but not the PC (although the PC name is still in the list under Video Apps, but when you select it it just says "Can not find PC".

I used to have a vista system and was never able to record sound (what I you hear i.e. streaming sound) so as soon as I got my new windows 7 laptop it was the first thing I checked. I have selected the SoundMix as my default device, I did that when I first got the laptop and as I said I was able to record the streaming sound, now I cannot however and looking at the recording devices, everything is set to default and as the guide shows. I used Roemer software free HiQ recorder because it shows the levels when sound can be detected by the software (the left and right levels move up and down showing that sound is being detected) and nothing is showing there at all. The levels don't move. The built in sound recorder doesn't record anything either and the volume level box is completely empty.
Is their some other setting or properties that has some how switched off or muted or something? I have been through the RealTek HD Audio panel and tested everything. I do have sound, I can listen to music so its not like I have no sound entirely. Also I have an inbuilt microphone in the lid of the laptop and it's on. If I tap the mic hole on the lid you can hear it is on and the sound recorders don't record even the sound of my tapping the mic! Again, I used to be able to record sound and now I cannot! In the living room we have a desktop with the same sound card, RealTek HD Audio on Windows 7 and that records sound as well.
I just re-installed the OS after upgrading the MOBO and RAM 2 days ago. When I stream videos on line, I usually select the full screen option. In the past, the video would automatically take up the entire screen of the monitor. Now, even if I select 'Full Screen Mode', the task bar still shows at the bottom of the screen.This does not happen if I'm watching a DVD, only when I stream movies/videos online.
I checked my browser but didn't see any options for that sort of thing. Seems like it's a setting somewhere in Windows that needs to be changed.

This starts happening at irregular intervals, sometimes just after 10 mnts, sometimes after about an hour or so. The system actually freezes every few seconds. This continues till the system displays BSOD or I restart it. After restart, it is fine for quite a long time but eventually the problem starts again.
