Normally, I've got tons of pages grouped in a single icon, with a 1920x1080 monitor, and a two-row taskbar. Like thisI despised that 'scroll' feature, and I was wondering if there might be a way or two, to expand that list to, say 2 or 3 column? So, there would be no need for the scroll thingy, and viewing/finding a particular window would be much, much easier.

I have resolved that by purchasing and using a Nvdia gtx560ti and the tech support people i bought the previous 6950 from advised me that they have come across a lot of problems with the Asus version of the card.With the new Gtx560ti, i purchased another 4GB of the Kingston HyperX pnp Ram. Since, i was getting random BSODs relating to "page fault in non pages area". I resolved this by removing the ram stick in Slot 4 of my Motherboard. After a few successful attempts, i reconnected the "suspected" Ram stick in Slot 3 and put another stick in Slot 4Since, i have not had a problem with page fault in nonpages area BSODs.
However, i am now beginning to get PFN_LIST_CORRUPT. What i would like to know is if this is related to the "bad" ram stick or a driver problem. I use the Uniblue Driver Scanner which is unable to find any outdated drivers. Can you look at Note that i used the Windows 7 memory diagnostic test and a pfn list corrupt BSOD occurred at 99% completed.At 98% it still showed "no errors have been found".
i have 2 notepad docs on my quick launch list. one is just the blank notepad doc & the other is a saved notepad document with info on it. instead of having separate icons for each, they are grouped together in a list like you see here... Jump Lists - Reset and Clear All Items its called a taskbar jump list. how do i make it so that each document has its own separate icon?

Their are no issues when playing games, strangely enough. So far I have replaced themotherboard, ran a disk check and got no errors, ran a SFC scan and got no errorsand ran the Memory Diagnostic Tool with no errors. Before you say I can list boot devices in bios I know this, the problem Is UEFI and Legacy my UEFI system is not secure boot and for whatever reason I have to F9 and manually select usb or dvd legacy, some versions of linux will not boot otherwise.

Over the course of the last year I have dual booted several version of linux, but it seems that linux mint and ubuntu add entries to my UEFI boot sources list...how do I remove them, the list is getting to long, and currently only windows 7 is installed.
Hp Pavillion Slimline s5-1114 Bios version 7.16 Ps other than this annoying list the system boots fine right into windows.
When I drag an icon from the taskbar to show its pinned list, the item where my cursor is, gets opened immediately, I remember pinned list used to stay there until I clicked any item, but now it automatically opens the selected item as soon as I stop holding click.

Troubleshooter indicted a HP Photosmart C310 driver was missing. I went to Device Manager and every entry under Other Devices was missing their drivers. The C310 printer, the SM Bus Controller and the Ethernet Controller. Windows Update was unable to find and install any drivers. Why all the Other Device components lost their drivers at the same time?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a second monitor and now have two working at the same time. It lets me have a lot more windows open at any given time, but since the windows task bar is only displayed on the main monitor it gets very clustered when I open all the windows I need. This makes it hard swapping between windows, especially when I'm working on the secondary monitor and have to move the mouse over to the primary to pull up a window that's behind all the others.
I'm wondering if there's a way to extend the task bar across both monitors? I've looked in the properties of both the task bar and the nvidia control panel, but found nothing.
It used to be that I could pin multiple documents to their host program on the task bar, and I could run more then just the program itself, for example with good chrome I could right click and choose to open a new window, a new incognito window and a few other options. I did some windows updates a little while back and all the other options have disappeared as well as my ability to pin files to programs. I was wondering if there was a way to get that back since it was super convenient to have. Most programs used to have many options and recent files, etc. Now this is the most I ever get for any program.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my FF 7.0.1 (or whatever the most up-to-date version of 7 is/was) to 8.0 and am noticing an issue. The problem I am experiencing is that when I launch FF (regardless if its done via the start menu or the button pinned to my taskbar), it adds a separate taskbar button (a la previous versions of Windows) instead of how Windows 7 normally handles such things. In addition to this, it also does not reflect having multiple tabs/windows open on the taskbar button (the attached image shows how the button for IE(9) displays the different tabs I have open in it, as well as the vertical lines next to the button which represent the number of tabs/windows open; however, the Firefox button does not function in either way, but you can see in the image that I have 3 tabs open in the browser window).Are these compatibility bugs between Windows 7 and Firefox (that the Mozilla devs need to address)?

i have Outlook 2007 pinned to my taskbar. i have notification behavior set to Hide icon and notifications. I have Outlook set to Hide When Minimized.k, so, whenever i want to see Outlook, i simply click the pinned shortcut on taskbar. when i want to hide it, i click the same icon, and it disappears and goes back to the small pinned icon form. i repeat if i want to see outlook again.... however! doing this, i noticed that each time i click the pinned icon, it is loading a new instance of Outlook 2007.i realized this when i saw the notifications area, and realized there were multiple Outlook 2007 windows available. (right clickign the notifications icon displays the "Open Outlook" button, not as a link, but as a menu.)how can i prevent taskbar from loading multiple instances?

I load firefox, same issue. I load Crome, it worked for 1 day then same issue. It used to login in fine last week. It logs in fine on my 2 other PCs and my Kindlefire.I have checked for viruses with Avast and A-Malware Bytes in safe mode - nothing. These 2 pick up 98% of stuff. Personally I dont think its a virusn IE9 - Deleted browsing history, cookies, temp internet files, everything under the Geneeral/Browsing History section. Did a disk cleanup, put the site inthe trusted zone, turned off popup blocker just in case, Cleared SSL state, Reset IE9. Zippo
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have an intel i5 2400 cpu, combined with 4gb ddr3 memory. mobo is dh67bl - revision 3. no gpu installed.power supply is via corsair vx450.problem i been facing:
1) bsod saying that a clock interrupt wasnt recd. [url]
2) bsod saying: page fault in non paging area. couldnt grab a screenshot for this.
3) display randomly goes off for a split second and reappears.. but the color of the panes go blue (i havent chosen blue. my setting is for clear pane.)[url] this error solves itself after random number of hours/mins
4) display vanishes for a split second and reappears, and a small balloon at the bottom right corner prompts that the display driver had stopped working.
5) system plain hangs/stops responding. randomly happens.. but more so while on Internet, or after hrs of it idling, i come back to the comp and try to scroll the content onscreen.sometime it revives from the stuck state as if nothing happened, sometimes i have to give it a cold boot.
6) while reading forums with blue bands.. the blue bands kinda form blurry bars which stretch till the end of the screen. i tried to grab a screenshot but the screenshots were clean. the bands moved as i dragged the image about.
7) also, my comp's display went off one day and within a second came back with a blue-ish hue. it restored itself but again has gone back to blue-ish.
other relevant information:
windows 7 x64
no other os resides/installed on system
full retail version
os was installed in july.
When I click to go to the next page on a web site it takes me to the sites home page instead and in order to get to the correct next page I have to backspace and click NEXT again.

Note that the system was not initially set up to capture the dmp files so all the earliest ones are missing. I presented the initial problems to the original seller who recommended sticking with MSE and uninstalling Norton 360 and I did that. Another forum suggested that Virtual Memory was the problem and I disabled and restored VM. Still having multiple crashes and I am hoping that I can get real help here. I do note that all the crashes have ntoskrnl.exe in the driver stack although sometimes alone and sometimes with other drivers.[CODE]

I only started here a few months ago and I am working on upgrading their Dell xp systems to Windows 7 systems.The problem begins to crop up when say a user named Sally will come in and sit down at this system for the first time.. Well, she needs to login, click on outlook icon, let it find her exchange PST and copy settings to her user profile, then she launches the application for the scanner that she uses to scan in ID's and insurance cards for every patient coming in.. The scanner is set to default settings and needs to be tweaked on color depth and double sided, etc.. Then after that, she needs to launch her Medical EMR application.. and then choose various options in the citrix client, ..TL;DR - Each user needs to spend 20 minutes resetting the defaults at this updated system.
Well this is fine except, I am planning on updating 2 front desk systems at each clinic, the user Sally will need to do all these things EACH time she finds herself sitting down at a system I just swapped out the previous evening.My thought is this, put a single system down in one clinic and let it sit a week giving most of the float users a chance to work on it for a day, setting all of their preferences etc.Once I get a bunch of them with user profiles on the local drive, grab an image of that drive and just deploy that to each system I roll out..Couple issues I am running into:First would be that I would have to register each Windows 7 copy with a new serial, which I have The next issue is, we have a mis-mash of Dell optiplex systems. 330's - 380's even a couple 320's..
I have been getting a fairly random blue screens and I cannot pin point it myself. I know a bit about diagnosing and repairing issues but this one is just a pain in my butt. I am uploading the dump files and I hope someone can give me a hand I am running a sfc scan right now to test for any problems too. Also got this off the TSG SysInfo Program.

I have attached a second monitor to my laptop which runs Windows 7, however, I need to set different resolutions for different monitors, because the display does not fit to fill the screen on both monitors.
It is also noted that the display is replicated, and I would like to have the effect of having different desktops e.g. being able to use different applications such as debugging code on one monitor on an IDE such as Visual Studio, and, viewing the browser on the other monitor.
Currently it does not seem possible since the behavior seems to be that the same resolution is replicated on both monitors.
Is there a method/hack or a 3rd-party program that allows the user to hide the taskbar by dragging its top border line downwards, after un-locking the taskbar? I remember I could do that under Win9x.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo about a month ago I restarted my computer and when it came back on all my programs pinned to my task bar and everything that was in my start menu was gone. From there I could not unlock the taskbar and nothing would pin in either the start menu or taskbar. I researched everywhere about it. I tried unlocking the taskbar in properties and registry with no luck. I finally found some posts about how my user profile was corrupt and from there I went on and made a new profile and copied everything and BOOM it all worked fine now. Well today it happened AGAIN! I restarted my computer and everything disappeared. So I think it is still a corrupt profile, but this is the second time it has happened.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a client that has laptop with windows 7 Pro. He had a faulty network card, so I have added a new, usb network card. That said, He can not pin anything to taskbar or start menu. I cleared both folders of shortcuts(567 of them) but to no avail. He also has no options under his desktop Context menu for New. He is also using a roaming profile, of which I will disable next time I am there. I have a feeling that might be the issue. I did scour the internet trying all the usual suggestions, but do vaguely remember something about an entry in cache somewhere that if it is too big or corrupt, it could cause this behavior. I am unable to find that post anywhere now.I mention the network card because one post had taskbar issues until he disabled his faulty network card. I have disabled the faulty network card.
