I have Asus M/B P5KPL-VM which supports 3gb ram, but only allows 2gb while I have 4gb installed. Would I have to update my Bios, since it is original from 2008?
I am trying to install drivers for an Adaptec AHA-2940 SCSI card.
The adaptec website there is no 64 bit version available, but i have been reading around for solutions with no success.
I need the "Adaptec AIC-7870 PCI SCSI Controller" ... but there is no 64 bit version for that. When i try to install the drivers (there is no installer program, i just need to use the update drivers feature of windows) it says that it is not a 64 bit version so i can't use it.
To make long story short, I need to buy this old ATI Radeon 7000 but I want to make sure that this card is supported by windows 7.
I search for official driver from AMD but seems they no longer support it but I found the driver for windows 7 on the net. ATI Radeon 7000 drivers. Can someone please confirm it works with Windows 7?
I have recently bought a HDTV from Philips 32" and it is announced as 1080p.
Now, when i tried connecting it to my computer, it says that 1366x768 is the native resolution, and not 1920x1080. I have even tried creating a custom resolution as 1080p to see if it works , but no luck.
So, how do i get this TV to work on 1080p?
Or better, how do i check to see if it really is 1080p?
I have a old creative Live value sound card which only worked in XP the vista drivers were never released, so can I connect that card & install the XP drivers in XP mode & make the card usable under windows 7 XP mode? That Card does not have windows 7 drivers either.
I have a very strange problem,my graphic card supports directx 11.but in dxdiag,in display tab it showing ddi version 10.1.i done all things update directx(already latest version),update graphic card(latest 9.17.10.2875) intel HD Graphics.i searched on many forums, many people have this problem on different hardware & operating system also.i also apply microsoft hotfix which is directx wrongly displaying ddi version 10.1.
I know they removed the "classic startmenu" but the only thing I miss is the "All Programs" list. I hate having to click, then scroll, then click again. With all the new UI improvements you would think they would of realized to just open the folder on hover or allow a blow out list.
I do have it set to open on hover, but it doesnt work for the inside area. So far it's my only complaint about 7, the little hovers for multiple windows is awesome.
When i click the start button and move my mouse to all programs it changes but there are no list of them, it is all white. When i right click the all programs and choose open i can see that all programs are there and they all work fine.
I didn't had this problem from start, it happened recently.
Of reg cleaners i only use CCleaner and it didn't make any problems for sure.
I recently ran Power Tools Lite and afterwards noticed that all commands that were listed in Run are gone. I don't think they can be recovred but I would like to make new entries hold and be available for furture use. Needless to say Power Tools Lite is gone from my computer.
I am using Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail for my emails. Whenever I run the deep clean option of my Advaced System Care program, it erases my contact list and I have to go back and re-enter the contacts. I would like to copy the file of Contacts elsewhere first so I would be able to copy it back after doing the Deep Care, but cannot find where it is stored. Kinda like the old .wab file I used to have.
I am running W7 Ultimate 32-bit. I have two programs that have stopped running on startup. One is 'everything' - a better search engine, the other is 'Karen's Time sync' - a clock sync program. I have UAC enabled and when they did run, they asked for permission to continue. Now they don't run at all unless I start them manually. Autoruns says: Everything is in HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun Time Sync.lnk is in C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsStartup

I noticed this a few days after having to restore my drive from a True Image backup.Running Win 7 Professional.I currently have 5 "recent" programs listed in my Start Menu (not pinned). I have Properties set to show 15 recent programs. When I run a program from the Start Menu (not the "recent programs," but the full list) or from Explorer (navigate to program and double-click the exe file), the program does not get added to the list. The only recently run programs being added are ones I run from Desktop shortcuts. I know this is not normal behavior; my laptop, also running Win 7 Professional, adds recent programs regardless of how they're launched.
Is there a place to find a single list of KVM switches that are known to be compatible with Windows 7? Google results come back with pages that seem to mention such a mythical list but all that I can find is MS documentation that mentions what KVM makers need to do to be compatible with Windows 7.
I am looking for a KVM switch that can switch a VGA connected monitor and a USB mouse and keyboard between an always connected desktop running 64 bit Win 7 Home Premium and an occasional laptop running Win 7 Professional. I would like to be able to walk into a local CDW or Fry's store knowing if a given KVM on the shelf will work. I would not want to depend on just looking at units with a Win 7 compatibility sticker on the box as I might miss a less expensive older unit that may work perfectly.
I manually removed all programs from the FPL and have run a multitude of various programs yet nothing shows up. So now my list is all blank.to keep the various suggested solutions short, I know about setting the "Start Menu Size"; I've tried 5 to 20. No joy. I know about the checkbox in the Privacy area of the Start Menu tab; mine IS checked but still no joy. I know about "NoStartPage" setting in HKClassesRoot for various program types and to my knowledge.
Once upon a time I had a small icon (it might have even been an arrowhead) in the lower right corner of my display near the clock in the notification area. With it I could open a menu along the right edge of the screen of all of the items on my desktop. I could open this menu over the existing window. It was NOT Aeropeek nor did it require the writing of any code, using the run box, downloading special apps or right clicking anywhere. It did not open the desktop as such; it opened a long menu of the titles of all the shortcuts on the desktop.I eliminated the capability about a month ago and now wish I had it back but I can't remember how I got it. It was not complicated as I would not have been able to do it.
How to blacklist an application from showing up on the programs list (the lists of app that you usually open, just above the windows logo when you first click onto it..)
