View 7 RepliesOnce upon a time I had a small icon (it might have even been an arrowhead) in the lower right corner of my display near the clock in the notification area. With it I could open a menu along the right edge of the screen of all of the items on my desktop. I could open this menu over the existing window. It was NOT Aeropeek nor did it require the writing of any code, using the run box, downloading special apps or right clicking anywhere. It did not open the desktop as such; it opened a long menu of the titles of all the shortcuts on the desktop.I eliminated the capability about a month ago and now wish I had it back but I can't remember how I got it. It was not complicated as I would not have been able to do it.

Where are the cookies stored in Windows 7? I've been playing Gemcraft Chapter 0, a flash game on armorgames.com and I need to find my cookies so I can transfer them to Vista.
I have Windows 7 and Vista on the same HD, so I was hoping I could just copy from one folder to another.
I dont no if this is the right place to start this thread but for some reason my cookies in IE8 are off or not working. How do i fix that?

When trying to sign in to some of Yahoo's pages on my Win 7 computer with IE 9, I get the message that the cookie is rejected. Other site's cookies are accepted OK. accepting cookies and none seem to fix the problem. I have another Windows 7 computer with IE 9 and it accepts the yahoo cookies just fine, in fact the yahoo cookies show up in the temp file on this computer, but not the other. All the internet options settings are the same on both computers.

How do I restore my cookies?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn IE8 on Windows 7, clearing cookies via Tools -> Internet Options -> Browsing History/Delete... only deletes cookies with expiration dates, leaving all session cookies (those that expire when the browser is closed). The only way I've found to delete the session cookies is to go through Developer Tools and select Cache -> Clear Session Cookies. So it's a 2-step process in completely different dialogues to clear all the cookies and get a clean slate. As a web developer this is extremely annoying. I understand there are some utilities out there for dealing with this like ccleaner.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem or rather a small nuisance with Firefox 3.0.13.
I first noticed this Firefox changed my SevenForums theme. I tried to change it back to my favorite "Seven Blue" theme. Page reloads, but theme does not change. Only theme I can use is SF default.
Now I noticed the same issue with a couple other websites where I want to make cookie based changes. Only way to do that is to clear all cookies always when launching Firefox. For example logging out from SF clears the SF cookies but it is not enough to solve my problem.
About same time my SevenForums gadget stopped refreshing. Now when I want to refresh SF gadget, I have to close and restart.
Even this is not a problem per se, it is annoying. If you have an idea, please let me know.

Ran a scan and it shows 29 tracking cookies by name. But I can't open usersobcookies, or anything else related to cookies. In other versions, I could manually delete them, although they were in a different folder. "Search" does nothing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using W7, home premium on 1 year old HP desktop computer.Recently, I was having trouble accessing videos from you tube, email and other sites. I had been using adobe flash player 9 and I was told to upgrade adobe flash and to get version 11. I installed version 11 but it would not play until I lowered my privacy settings from medium high to medium per instructions on Adobe. The flash player worked after that except now I am constantly getting the following message everytime I launch IE 9 and every time I go to a web site. The error message is always similar to this -"Privacy Alert The website (AZh).com has requested to save a file on your computer called a cookie. Do you want to allow?Allow or block"I am currently getting this message many times a day. No matter if I select block or allow, they keep coming back. This happens on all sites and often is unrelated to the site I am visiting.

Windows 7 64-bit,SpywareBlaster, MailwareBytes, Firefox 14.1
I run Win 7 Pro (64bit), COMODO Firewall, and Steganos AntiVirus 12 and the latest SpywareBlaster.Whenever I start-up I find a lot of cookies from MS have been deposited on to my C: Drive. They manage to go through my virus checker and all other forms of protection without any sort of problem.I know it all seems a bit paranoid but I cannot see why Bing and Zune cookies (3 month ones) are deposited onto my system as I don't even use their services!Deleting them is easy, though they do tend to re-appear regularly. Which means I have to keep deleting them. How do I stop them from getting onto my system

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am extremely new to computers and my son and I now have one. I believe he has made changes to his computer to hide his actions from me (hes 10 and knows more about computers than I), because his Internet Explorer history only saves sites sporadically it seems, and downloads are also not saving, and neither are cookies. I'm sure other things are not saving as well. I have tried to reset his IE settings to default, and it did nothing.
I have noticed that the few cookies that are in his Temporary Internet files are all searches for Windows how-tos' involving Indexing his computer, Deleting Browsing History, and System Restore. I'm not sure if him messing with these settings could have caused his computer to not save anything, or what. Should I try to restore Internet History files first, and then try a System Restore? Or should I just do/or do not do a System Restore at all and try something else?

Very annoying, since I am the only user and logged on.
