i have built in speakers in my monitor when i play a moviepresantation all is well when i disconnect vga cable their's no sound from the built in speakers - although audio cable is connected to the monitor.how can i hear sound from built in speakers although vga is disconnected? i need it for another monitor.i didn't found something in vga properties or monitor properties.

But I am getting no output to my speakers! I've read through a lot of forums and tried both xp and vista drivers along with the recommended 7 drivers, all work but I am getting no output through my integrated speakers.
I am running a Toshiba u205-5002 with a ACPI x86 motherboard and soundmax it just not working for me. I am at a loss of what to do. I don't get any program sounds whatsoever, no startup, nothing. All device managers say the devices are working properly and it detects the speakers just fine. I am also not getting any output to my headphone jack either. I am using the 32 bit 7000 build...
I recently bought Creative A500 5.1 surround sound speakers for my PC. I then bought an internal sound card as i only had 2 speaker inputs on my pc, but then found out that my motherboard has only 1 PCI slot. So i had to buy an external sound card for the surround sound to work (this one) I connected it all up, put the wires in the correct places, but the rear speakers do not play any sound. I know they work, as I put the rear jack into the front output to test them. If I go into sound, then try to configure it to 5.1 I don't have the option to select rear speakers. (picture of what i mean) I can't go into enhancements to select fill speakers either as the tab isn't showing up in properties. And also, as I'm using an external sound card (USB), nothing shows up in Realtek HD audio manager, so I'm not able to do it from there.

Ideally I'd like for someone to be able to watch netflix, or online videos on the TV with audio and video running through the HDMI cable while someone else can use the PC monitor & desktop speakers to game or do other tasks. The issue is both gaming applications and chrome (or other web browsers) only support audio playing through the default audio device in windows 7. As a result, i'm forced to pick whether i want all audio to play from the TV speakers or the desktop speakers.

Doing some research I've learned this was a feature in win XP but was dropped in vista/7. On windows 7 support forums the Microsoft Support reply that it was an intentional omission win both windows 7 and vista.I know how to direct the audio from winamp, media player classic, and WMP to the output device of my choosing.I have tried three third party applications:Virtual Audio Cable: lets me play the same audio out both the HDMI connection and the desktop speakers.IndieVolume: shows promise as it lets me direct audio from applications to the output device i choose, but all attempts to get the software to change my web browser's output device haven't worked. I also think the software is not supported for windows 7 x64.J River - Media Center 17: media center software with an embedded web browser. Using this media center i can direct the audio from any media on my computer to the audio device of my choosing, but the embedded web browser plays out of windows default output device not the audio device i choose.
Does windows 7 feature a program that would separate tracks on a cassette that I downloaded on to my computer? I downloaded it but now I want to separate and name each track. I apologize for not knowing all the technical names of what I am trying to achieve. I am a senior citizen trying to preserve my cassettes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently use my computer to watch HULU shows on my HDTV, and it works wonderfully. However, with multiple monitors, I was hoping to be able to watch TV and work on other things simultaneously.
The problem that I'm having is that if Hulu is in Full screen on my TV, and I try to do ANY Thing at all on my other screen, Hulu exits full screen mode. This is Suffice to say, a pain in the butt. Now I can not multi task, I either have to use my computer, or watch TV, and not both.
What I was wondering was, is it possible to completely separate the control between the windows, so that you would instead of dragging the mouse off screen, press something more of an alt+Tab keystroke to switch between them?
That way, not only do I not lose the mouse pointer momentarily if I touch the edge, but I'd also not effect what one screen is doing while working on the other. Maybe even enable multiple mouses and keyboards to be used and assigned to their own screen so that multiple users could even use the same computer.
one could type homework while the other checks their email or plays a game. With the multiple cores in most computer nowadays, this type of multitasking should be a snap.

I have a Dell XPS M1330 laptop and have recently upgraded to windows 7 professional (32bit) from windows vista. Everything seems to be running smoothly except I can get no sound from the internal laptop speakers. When I plug in external speakers in via the jacks on the front, sound comes through fine, but as soon as I unplug them there is nothing. Headphones also work like this too. Under sounds in device manager, it simply says 'High Definition Audio Device', and I'm not sure if I should be downloading some other drivers?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme PCI-Ex, and Logitech Z-5500 5.1 THX speakers. All speakers work; all software, drivers and codecs are up-to-date. Recently I noticed that in the Speaker Setup screen, the test button only results in sound from the left and right front speakers.
I checked because after a VLC update, mkv files no longer played correctly in the 5.1 mode. Music played, but the voices were muted (while no speakers are muted, and all are connected). I have to select "2 front, 2 rear" Audio Device in order to hear the speech as well.
I have the same problem when playing movies in PowerDVD, where I have to select the 2-speakers setting in order to hear all the sound.
Note:
- Previously the test button did sound all 5 speakers
- The test button on the Logitech remote still sounds all 5 speakers
I have Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit.
only my front left and sub and main speaker work and if i put the cords in a different hole then only one will work and i got all of the in the right colour coded hole i have tride everything WHAT DO I DO!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought my VGX-XL301 in August 2007 and it cam installed with Vista home addition and upgraded to Windows 7 Professional in April 2010. I have the computer linked to my Samsung HDTV via an HDMI connection.
Everything worked fine up until recently.
I am working on the computer and then switch HD inputs to watch TV. After a time the compuiter goes into sleep mode. The next time I want to use the computer, I press a key to bring it out of sleep mode. I switch it from the TV HD input to the PC HD input but no picture comes up.
I have to force a shut down by holding in the power button and then turn on. The PC then goes through the boot up and the PC picture appears, however sometimes it takes 2 or 3 forced shutdowns to make it work.
I have upgraded the driver on the graphics card as I thought that might be the problem.
Have a new camcorder, the videos from which I wish to record on a DVD for posterity and sharing.Apparently there are several modes that my PC asks about before making the DVD.I read, somewhere, that for the "best" pix quality, you should tell it to make a "Data Disk," and not one of the picture options.

Windows has a feature to allow you to output your computer to your HDTV right? (Via HDMI). But I'm building my new PC in a few months and was wondering if I was to connect my PC to my HDTV via HDMI, would it output to the TV during things like the BIOS and Windows setup? I've been through several drivers, none of which worked, and I've also tried sound max, which has in fact worked, however I can't stand the little sound bar when you up or down the volume, and it's fairly unresponsive when I use the buttons on my laptop. So in all fairness, I just want the actual driver designed to work with this laptop.I do have a version of Windows 7 Home Premium, not too sure if it'd make much difference, however I'd rather not go through another OS install as I've got most of my stuff already set up on this now!I am good with computers so don't be afraid to get technical, but I just need another angle on this because it's most likely just something I'm overlooking.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi've twice installed latest drivers GeForce 285.62 Driver , i've been into nvidia control panel and then setup multiple monitors & it only detects my other vga monitor not the hdmi one, i'm using a brand new hdmi cable & can confirm i've connected it to the correct hdmi connector on my monitor, it has 2 hdmi ports and i've tried both, when i go into device manager & display adapters there is only 1 adapter that says nvidia geforce gt 545, should there be another 1 for the hdmi? i'm out of options, i even work in i.t as a breakfix engineer coming across similar issues like this but i cannot deal with this & really need some help so i'm really hoping someone will help me out here i'm wondering if its anything to do with my other hardware such as the xeon cpu? (a longshot but i've only just built this pc & never built a xeon system before & would normally go for core i5 or core i7)

I know it wasn't malware, but that's not the point Is there a way to make cmd.exe copy all it's output to a text file automatically or something similar that I could use to check back on what my system did there?I already checked google, it said there's "no way". Only with powershell, but that's not exactly what I want because I don't really do a lot of that stuff, but I'd come back to it, if nobody knows anything else.

I can get it to extend my desktop, but when i close the lid, it turns off the external monitor. I have set Windows 7 to do nothing when lid is closed. Is there anyone else with this problem?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a dell core 2 duo with 3gb of ram, and an ati hd4650, when i boot up, both outputs get the boot up screens, when it gets into windows, the hdmi output appears to be unplugged(not available for selection, just not there) it is worth noting that it worked fine under vista, anyways, when i switch the source on my receiver, or turn it off, as long as it is plugged in, it then gets detected, and i can modify resolution, and apparently it is outputting sound as well, i cannot verify this because the receiver is OFF, tried various versions of the catalyst drivers, and one of them worked, until i went into the catalyst center to change something and it went back to what it was doing i feel it is something wrong with the windows side or the driver, ive tried upgrading to the x64 version, ive tried different cables, different ports/plugs, it just wont work, i have no idea where to look in the registry to change when it is detected, but when i turn off the receiver or switch off of that source, the monitor flickers and the output is detected, this is frustrating because i wanted all of my home machines to be on 7, and i really dont want to go back to vista.

One PC can print from IE9 to the Acrobat PDF printer, the other can't and I can't figure out why.(the other one does create a PDF, but it's void of content except for the header/footer from IE)Here's the paramaers:

When I print to the "Adobe PDF" printer (print dialog box, where you would normally select your printer), the "Adobe PDF" printer is indeed listed and selectable, but after selecting the "Adobe PDF" printer, the next dialog box that is presented it the standard Windows "Save As" dialog box and this is where the weirdness starts... and the Laptop never prints the content properly.

The two "issues" I'm posting for help here are these:
1.) the Desktop PC actually prints the webpages into a PDF, the Laptop will not(on the Laptop, it does create a file, but always 1 page only, void of content except for the header/footer from IE)
2.) The Desktop install seems to know it's a webpage and uses some of the webpage URL/link as a suggested filename, the Laptop always inserts a random alpha-numeric filename as if it has no clue of the source.
I have spent hours looking at all available settings for both IE9 and Acrobat8 and they are both identical, I can't quite figure out why one prints the webpages into a PDF and the other won't. (both Acroat installations and updates are from the same disc).I've posted this on other forums before, usually all I get are the obligatory reply's like "oh you should try ***PDF instead" and "Acrobat 8 isn't supported in Windows 7"... etc. Well all that would be fine ...except... it does work on the Desktop PC so I can put to rest the "isn't supported" notion because it does work on my Desktop PC.
my old vista machine I could keep streaming audio while the screen went dark after 10min of no use. On the new 7 machine, the audio goes off if the monitor goes off and comes back on after moving the mouse to wake the monitor. Is there a way around this? I'd rather not have the monitor on for hours at a time when I'm not sitting in front of it.

I can connect the 2 just find BUT how can I view the output of the PC to the laptop? So instead of having another monitor/display unit, I want the laptop to be able to see the output from the PC as if the PC were connected to a display unit.
