View 9 Replies View RelatedWith the help of MS Tech Support on the phone [got right through!] he explained how to get rid of all my annoying partitiions. So, both drives were wiped out and made into single primary partitions.
I then installed Vista but had problems with a few of the drivers. A couple of them failed, but they were like 'touchpad' and such. Nothing that I saw as critical.
The minute Vista was complete, I custom installed Win 7 and it went well, execpt that it did say it could not find some drivers--of course, it did NOT say WHICH drivers! It just says, driver missing, click to browse or install.
I have no idea which one, or where it is.
So, rebooted to Win 7 and a few issues:
1: it knows the second hard drive is present and working, but it does not show in My Computer or Explorer. That is my biggest issue.
2: I have been installing second monitors on many machines for years, but this time, Win 7 can't seem to find my large moniitor. It worked before with Vista and it worked before with the first insall of Win 7.
It says missing drivers in the screen shots, but are these Vista drivers it wants? Or Win 7 drivers?
I've recently formatted my hard-drive on my desktop and reverted to Windows 7 from 8, for many reasons, but upon installation I was unable to connect to the internet through a wired connection. I checked 'Device Manager' and discovered that the Ethernet Controller, PCI Simple Communications Controller and SM Bus Controller were all missing. Naturally, I went to [URL] and checked for a 64 bit Windows 7 Ethernet Driver, as it was the most important of the missing drivers; and downloaded a Realtek Ethernet Utility V2.0.2.1. I ran the Asus Setup in the folder, and the Utility installed. Having essentially no idea what I was doing, I went back and tried to manually find the drivers, thinking they may have been in the 'WIN7' folder of the .zip I downloaded. With no luck, I uninstalled the old drivers entirely from Device Manager, and restarted to see if Windows would install it correctly.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a samsung NP-300V5A laptop for compsci at school, and picked it due to the fact that out of all the laptops at microcenter, this one was at a reasonable price with an i7 2670qm, however, coming from building 3 of my own very high end desktops (3930k w/ gtx 690 & ssd's) the 5400 rpm drive just was unbearable, so I went out and picked up a crucial M4, and replaced it. I also bought a copy of windows 7 home premium OEM and tried booting from that dvd, and it would not work, I just got a backlight loop, so I inserted the Samsung recovery install disc, and used it to install windows, worked just the same as any other win7 install, however, my internet is not working now, and my laptop's monitor/display is recognized as a generic nonPnP and won't go to its max resolution.

i recently got a new SSD and I've installed windows 7 home premium on it. However whenever i boot into my SSD's windows 7, it says that boot manager is missing. In order to boot into windows 7, i would have to change my first boot to my CD, when it asks me to press something to boot cd, i would just leave it. It would then come to a page that allows me to choose from the windows 7 installed on my SSD and the windows 7 installed on my old hard drive.

I believe I have went through most guides / troubleshooting I could find on this website as well as others. After attempting to use my original cd with no luck, I followed the steps only to have the cd go no further than 73% of the step after "copying windows files". I then burnt / mounted, whatever you'd like to call it (properly) my Win 7 to my Thumb drive and at first windows said BOOTGR is missing.
So than I read to put in the cd, repair it using a command prompt "bootrec /fixboot" which it replied successful. After which I reinserted the flash-drive only to get the same error. I have tried partitioning, "clean all" (not in that order), multiple cds, thumb drives, my friends window 7 cd for giggles to see if I would have any luck, removing a stick of ram, all usb items but the kb/m. Desperate after literally 8 hours of working on this I tried my old copy of windows xp which gave me a blue screen of sorts.
Two days ago I've reinstall windows for some reason..after reinstallation complete I've download more than 90 windows update and my laptop working properly. Unfortunetely the built-in cyberlik youcam missing and I can't find the software or driver to fix my problem. When I downloaded this software from web it's just give me a trial version..
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased an ASUS G53SW-XN1 with Windows 7 64-bit OS from newegg and found out that the built-in webcam doesn't work. Upon further investigation I also found that there is no "Imaging device" listed in "Device Manager" yet the physical device is obviously there. I went to the ASUS support site to attain the driver for the webcam only to find that, for this model, there is no driver listed. I called ASUS about this and their tech was as surprised as I was over the lack of a driver for this model. He directed me to try the driver for similar models (G53JW, G73JH, and G73SW) but none of their drivers would work, and the G73SW model, as with my model (G53SW), didn't have a driver listed either.

My issue is, I'll try to boot into Windows 7 Ultimate x64, not a new installation at all, and I get the "Windows is Starting" screen and the little colored balls, but after a few seconds I get a very very quick blue screen and reboot before Windows even loads. There's no way I can read the blue screen error.So I thought, "Let's just do a startup repair." That didn't work; it said: Quote: Root cause found:The partition table does not have a valid System Partition

So I pop in the Windows 7 installation DVD; it tells me there are missing CD/DVD drivers. I point it to the Windows 7 drivers directory on my primary HDD, it still can't find anything.So I load up my copy of MSDaRT. Some tools load, but it tells me "Tool requires a supported offline OS" under many of the tools, and the ones that do start won't do anything at all because they can't "see" my Windows 7 installation. I have an external HDD reader, but I'd rather not have to wipe everything and do a clean reinstall. Maybe trying to fix the partitions with a G-Parted on an Ubuntu Live CD or something?
Shut down PC last night, all working perfectly. Today it won't boot with the "missing operating system" message. Have booted from Windows 7 installation disc, tried startup recovery - took 2 hours before reporting no automatic fix possible. It cannot find an installed Windows OS to do a system restore, so I attempted a "custom" clean re-install. However, I then get a "canot create system partition or find existing one" error message. I have tried to create a "New" one but nothing doing. I don't seem to have any HDD drivers to point to either.

Can i use my Windows 7 Home Upgrade disk to reinstall Windows on this lappy? I have done it many times before with XP and Vista, but was unsure if it can be done with 7 since MS has done some things different to prevent piracy. View 2 Replies View Relatedfirstly, I'm running a gigabyte P35 motherboard with a quad core processor and 2 gigs of ram and an Intel chip-set etc. As for hardware, everything is ok and I've had no problems up until now.
About 4 days ago, after rebooting my pc, I noticed firstly that my internet was not working. My pc was telling me that there was no network available to connect to. I did the usual things like power off my router, unplug the ethernet cable from the pc, restart the pc etc, nothing worked. I then thought that perhaps there was a driver problem. I uninstalled my router, and reinstalled the driver again. Lo and behold, it was working.
However I then noticed under my USB devices in device manager that they all had the little yellow " ! " mark and none were working. I had to uninstall and reinstall all those drivers again, same as with the NIC, and they worked.
I had hoped that this was the end of that bizarre incident but that was not the case. After a reboot, the same thing happened again. Since that time, every reboot has yielded the same results and it is a real pain in the ass to have to reinstall everything again, and again, and again.
I have no idea what the problem could be as I had no updated anything or installed anything new for this to happen. I've been reading through these forums and noticed one person having a similar USB problem but I believe mine may be a little bit different so any light that could be shed on this would be more than appreciated.
My computer began acting weird a few days ago. The wireless service was not working. I tried manually starting the service but it gave me errors. I decided I would just reset to an earlier config, but to my amazement all of the backups were gone. In addition, I couldn't reset to factory setting, as it gave me weird errors. I thought it might have been a virus or something so I proceeded to wipe the hard drive with some random program I found on cnet. However after starting the program it gave me the BSOD, and now whenever I boot the computer, it would ask me to install the OS. Normally, this would be fine, but whenever I try to install it (from the windows 7 CD), it always gave me a "no signed drivers detected" message near the bottom. On the screen, my hard drive and unused space also do not show up. So now, my computer just sits there without an OS. I am at a loss as to what to do. If anyone needs additional information,
TL;DR: My comp has no OS and I cannot reinstall because it says there are no signed drivers.

Before taking the plunge would anybody know if there is the option to install ultimate direct from the DVD in English or do i have to follow the above tortuous route.
