My 8GB Kingston Data Traveler is missing 6.09 GB! I used HDD regenerator to make a regenerating flash to repair an external drive, and I hadn't used it since. Now it tell me its only 1.91 GB in capacity , I formatted it with device defaults and nothing it still remains the same.

I run disk check and everything is fine until the next time I turn on the computer and the disk is full again. I ran a couple of malware tools and they found nothing. When I look through the directories I cannot find any huge files. I have the hidden and system files set as viewable. The HD is 300GB and has about 35 GB of real files.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed windows 7 on a laptop with Windows Vista 64-bit When installed, it installed on a D:drive with only 14.6 GB capacity. The C: drive was apparently allocated for the Vista OS. After reinstalling some of the applications, it has maxed out the D: drive capacity.
It looks as if it is loading the apps both on the C: and D: drives. How do I transition the default windows 7 OS to the C:drive which has 238 GB capacity? Will I need to reinstall Windows 7 to do this? Ultimately, I would like to eliminate Vista completely and only deal with Windows 7.
i do have an external HDD with a 250G capacity... i bought an enclosure then...i think i have this almost 3 years now...i have noticed lately that max capacity is now 150G...

Windows is showing the C: drive with 224 GB and partition D: with 225 GB.
I'm guessing that Windows doesn't know that it's on a 1TB drive now, so how do I get access to the missing 500GB?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI need a little help trying to diagnose my daughters computer problem while I'm deployed to Afghanistan. She just recently has windows 7 home premium 64 bit installed. It's been working great for over a month now, but yesterday she said she tried to install a game and she got an error saying she doesn't have enough memory.
I had her bring up the system box in control panel, and it showed her score of 5.2 but next to memory installed it was empty. now we know memory is installed because she's able to use the computer. I know for a fact there's 2 GB of memory. I'm sure it's just a windows thing, but I'm unfamiliar with windows 7.
The title pretty much sums everything up. I downloaded a game called R.O.D.E Online, its a free mmorpg I installed the game, everything went well.When I tried to launch the game nothing happens, after clicking on the launcher a few times I get an error message that says this: Program compatibility assistant, This program requires a missing windows component: "This program requires flash.ocx, which is no longer included in this version of Windows." I have browsed to the installation folder and directly clicked on the launcher file, the game launches but when I try to play it says I need to download the newest patches. Well the file that gives me the error is the launcher which downloads the patches. I have searched for answers for this error for about 2 hours.. It seems others have had this error for other programs but it wasn't essential to fix for the program to run.

However I think something might have gone wrong when I give my external HDD a drive letter that was held by one of the flash card reader).I wrote "I think" because I am not really sure since I never wanted to use the internal card reader till today so I never noticed there was an issue. Anyway, the internal card reader does not show up even when I insert a card in the reader. Basically nothing happens. I have uninstalled the "USB Mass storage device" and it gets installed without any issue but the problem is still there: I can't see the reader. the INTERNAL flash card reader has a USB slot and when I insert a EXTERNAL flash drive, the EXTERNAL flash drive shows up.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is a copy and paste of my problem.I haven't messed with ubuntu in a long while, because of this problem. what happened was i had ubuntu dual installed alongside my windows 7. I had grub as its main boot loader. I can't remember if i did the partitioning myself that time or not, pretty sure I did. However, for whatever reason, my grub loader failed once and it caused me to have to reset the mbr via a windows 7 disk. after I did this and ever since, the partitions I had set for ubuntu (a whopping 50gb) have been invisible to me. I KNOW they are there because my windows 7 says that my HDD says it is only like 418 in size. Clearly the memory is gone SOMEWHERE, but the partitions are not visible in either windows' partitioning tool, or when I load up a boot disk and use something like gparted.

I know, should have a backup, I was actually about to create a backup when the flash drive failed on me unfortunately. My newest backup is from about 5 days ago, so I'd prefer to be able to restore the current files.
I moved the drive over to another computer and tried to save a file but when I checked again the file was gone, like it never saved at all. Subsequently, after removing and plugging it back in the computer did not detect the drive (or see it in disc management). It does show up as a generic USB drive in the device manager, but there are no properties for it.
When I add it to a computer, it still adds drivers for it, but then nothing happens after that. It may also be a hardware problem, since the drive fell on the ground pretty hard a while back, but seemed to be working fine. There isn't an easy way to open it up and check.
I also tried using a few data recovery programs, but they couldn't detect the drive either.
I have 6GB of ram installed on windows 7 64-bit ultimate. For some reason I'm noticing that the usage will rise past 50%, but I am unable to find all of the used resources. From what I found, I'm using roughly 3.2GB of RAM when I add up all the memory usage under the processes tab.
